Mayhem's POV
I wasn't expecting Emily to accept the rejection easily. I thought she was going to kneel and beg in tears but she surprised me. She accepted it immediately, i got angry at her when she told me that my wolf was going to suffer and that we were going to suffer badly for it.
In a haste I told my men to throw her outside and I regretted it deep down ever since I found out that she is my mate. I've begun to regret things which I didn't use to think twice about.
"Alpha." Luke walked in.
"What?" I dropped the glass of wine in the cellar.
"I think we should stop the illegal search for uranium." He bowed his head.
I flung the glass towards him,fortunately for him he was able to dodge it. I sat down and rubbed my head. I was feeling a headache thanks to that stupid girl. Now my Beta wants to stop the search for something that could change our lives. What an idiot he was.
"You've been drinking for a long time Alpha your health will be at stake at this rate."
"Cut the crap." I retorted.
"Why should I stop the search??" I stood up but couldn't position myself properly. My vision is blurry.
I was drunk. I could feel my temperature rising, imagine I was drunk in broad daylight.
"It's because Alpha Colton is after you,he has ears around and I got a whiff that he is into you."
I bursted into laughter as soon as I got to where Luke was standing. I couldn't see him properly but I could tell that he was trying hard to stay loyal to me. I should have known from the start that Luke is a coward.
"Why should I be scared of Colton? Answer me Luke!!!!" I yelled at him.
"You are drunk Alpha, permit me to take you to your room." He tried to hold him.
I lost control and slammed him across the wall. I went over and kicked him in the stomach. I was furious. My eyes were ablaze, I didn't stop hitting him until I saw that he was bleeding.
"You are fired as of today."
"As from today you cease to become the Beta of the dark moon pack now get your stupid face outta here!!!" I didn't need a weakling like him.
I needed someone who shared the same goal with me and can go through the ends of the earth for me.
Luke dragged himself out of my sight. I grunted in anger, I took my car keys and went outside. I was going to see Emily, she needs to explain why she accepts the rejection easily.
On my way there I couldn't stop thinking of Colton. The name itself irritates me. I had borne hatred for him since the time we were supposed to have a fight concerning a certain land; the one who wins was going to be given the ownership.
The stupid guy didn't show up, he only sent word that he couldn't stop so low to fight with me so he gave me the land, although I hadn't seen him before no one has, we've only heard about how dangerous he can be. Making people respect him more than they respect me.
The uranium is the only way I can grow the wealth of my pack and I'm going to do whatever it takes to find it.
"You really want to see her,I suggest you stay away from her." Dan spoke up.
I parked my car outside thankfully the windows are tinted so they can't see through.
"Are you changing your mind?" Dan asked again.
"No,she is not fit to be a Luna." I replied.
I saw Emily serving,she looked happy as if nothing happened between the both of us. It was like she hadn't been rejected. I frowned that other wolves would have committed sucide or left the pack due to the embarrassment and here she is living fine.
"I think this is the aftermath of loneliness, you should have just accepted her." Dan shook his head.
"You didn't stop me did you? You should have stopped me when I wanted to!!!" I fired back.
I didn't know what kind of wolf Dan was one that could accept breaking the red thread with his mate.
"You said it yourself, having a weak mate would make you hate than good,I was just doing the day we are one aren't we?" He voiced out.
"What am I even doing here?" I rested my back on the seat of the car.
"Aren't you going in?" Dan asked.
"I don't want the people in here to recognize me as the Alpha,I will talk to her as soon as she comes outside." I assured him.
"What's the point of coming here to see her? From the look of it she is happy that she is not mated to a monster like us anymore."
I thought about it and watched Emily do her thing. I was going to bring her close to me. That's what I'm going to do.
