Emily's POV
The people gasped when they heard Alpha Mayhem acknowledged me as his mate. I stood there in shock. My eyes fixated on him as he stared deeply into my eyes.
"Mate?" He frowned.
My heart tightened at his reaction. The pack members murmuring wasn't also helping. I was the center of attention.
"The weakling is Alpha's Mayhem's mate!" One woman spoke up.
"We can't have her as a Luna." I could hear their whispering.
Clouds of tears started to form and I held the hem of my clothes tightly to prevent the tears from falling.
"What's your name?" Alpha Mayhem asked.
"Emily." I answered.
"Emily what?" His voice was firm and he spoke in a serious tone.
"Emily Jones." I tried not to stutter.
"Alpha Mayhem Hills of the Dark Moon Pack reject you Emily Jones as my soulmate." He spoke with so much venom and resentment.
I cried in pain as I felt the matebond snap. He looked at me with no emotions and searched around like he was looking for someone. His eyes landed on someone and I looked to see that it was Charlotte. He went over to her and took her hands.
"What's your name?" He asked her.
"Charlotte." She blushed.
"Would you like to be a Luna?" He asked her.
She nodded more than I could count, smiling sheepishly.
"Well then I'll see to that." He replied
Alpha Mayhem walked out in anger and the crowd echoed and booed at me. I tried to find my legs and I ran out of the hall in tears.I could hear Stella calling after me but I wanted to be left alone.
I ran as fast as my legs could take me. I found a dark alley, sat in a corner and cried my eyes out.
"What did I expect?" I threw my shoes away in anger.
"He doesn't deserve you." Stella walked over and picked my shoes.
"Yes,he deserves better, not a weakling, not one who couldn't communicate with her wolf properly!" I snapped at her.
"Let's go home Emily." She extended her hands.
I didn't take it and stood up in anger. We had almost gotten to the bus station when I excused myself to go to the restroom.
"Call me if you need me." Stella looked at me.
I didn't answer her and went to the restroom Stella and my mom were always babysitting me. I should have known that I was going to be rejected,no one in his right senses would want a mate with a sick wolf not to talk of an Alpha.
I stared at myself in the mirror, my eyes were bloodshot, the mascara was all smeared, and I cried again for a few minutes.
"Emily are you fine?" Stella knocked on the door.
I didn't want to go home. My mom was going to cry throughout the night if she learned the truth,so I looked up at the window of the toilet. I managed to escape through the window and look for a place of solace.
I walked across the street mindlessly, not minding the intense stares of people. What was I going to do with my life?I couldn't even live a normal life without talking or fantasizing about a great life.
My eyes caught a club at a corner and I decided to go in at least alcohol could take away my sorrows for now,a lone tear managed to escape and I wiped it off.
The music in the club was so loud I struggled out of the midst of the dancing crowd to the bar.
"Two bottles of tequila." I told the bartender.
He looked at me intensely thinking if he should serve me or not.
"Don't give me that look, I'm 20 for goodness sake!" I slammed my fist on the table.
He jolted back and rushed to give me what I ordered.
"Thanks." I murmured and took the bottles from him.
I kept emptying the glass of alcohol not minding the effect of the strong drink. Soon my vision began to get blurry but I didn't stop drinking.
"Another bottle." I called the bartender again.
He sighed and looked at me with pity before handing me the bottle.
I was about to take another shot when I felt a hand on my glass. I looked up to see who intruded and I gulped at the sight.
In Front of me was the most attractive man I've ever seen. He has this silky black hair and his eyes are two beautiful blue orbs. I stared down at his body and I could see he was well built like a truck. His arms are extremely muscular and his height could be around 6 '4.
"You've had enough." His voice is deep and smooth, perfectly matching his exterior.
"What's your name?" He took a seat beside me.
I blinked my eyes to see if it was the tequila working he was talking to me?
"I'm…Em..ily." I stammered.
I tried to take a glass but found out that he took it from me.
"So what's a beautiful girl like you doing here?" He asked.
My eyes almost came out of its socket. This man was flirting with me. It was what my mate should be doing now.I remembered the reason for my pain and took a bottle. Thankfully he didn't stop me. His eyes never left me; it was as if he had found a special gem.
Several minutes passed and I discussed how my miserable life was with the handsome man.
"He doesn't deserve you." He replied and took a glass.
"No that's not true,I don't deserve him." I laughed and poked him.
I was drunk. I knew it and going home scared me. The handsome man kept talking about some stuff and I didn't know what came over me. I pecked him in his lips and went back to my position.
He wasn't shocked by my movement, he just smiled.
"You are drunk, where do you stay?" He asked.
"I'll take you home." He offered.
"I don't want to go home." I pouted.
"Would you like to spend the night with me?" He proposed.
Without thinking twice I nodded. He stood up,paid the bills, held me by my waist and led me out of the club.
