hor, still weak and injured, was taken by Jane as they left the base alongside Coulson, heading toward Wonderland Town. Meanwhile, Merlin disappeared into the night, flying off with the mechanical sword strapped to his back. He was quite pleased with the results of his experiments on the vampire-infused alien creatures. These monsters had impressive self-healing abilities, fast reflexes, immunity to bullets, and the infectious bite of zombies. However, their weaknesses were also clear, and that was something Merlin noted for future use.
After all, when the Los Santos offline service area launched, they needed to ensure the difficulty of killing these monsters wasn't too high for the first wave of players. With player development still in its early stages, some helpful items would be necessary to ensure success.
As he soared through the cool night air, the dampness of the recent rain still lingered, and the cold moonlight illuminated his path. Eventually, Merlin landed silently at the entrance of a dark cave. The entrance was ominous, like the mouth of a giant beast, waiting to devour its prey. Merlin stood at the cave's mouth for a moment, waiting.
Soon, a heavy sound echoed from the depths of the cave. The ground trembled beneath him, and in the dim light, a massive figure emerged, casting a shadow over the trees surrounding the entrance.
"Long time no see, Megatron," Merlin said calmly, the cold moonlight revealing half of the metallic giant's body, which was covered in blood-red webs.
"Cunning human!" Megatron growled, his anger palpable as he recognized Merlin. He moved as if to strike, but his left side gave out, numbed by the damage, causing him to stumble and crash to the ground.
"Bang!" Megatron's massive body hit the dirt, sending mud splattering everywhere.
"Always fun to play games together," Merlin remarked casually, patting the fallen giant's head and arm. In the metal palm of Megatron's hand, which was laced with those blood-red webs, sat a dark, cube-shaped object—the AllSpark. The gaping hole in Megatron's hand had been created by Arcee's electromagnetic gun in an earlier battle.
"Buzz!" Merlin touched the surface of the AllSpark, and the crimson lines started to move like data being processed.
"Click! Click!" Megatron's metal palm slowly opened as the AllSpark floated into Merlin's hand.
"Deceitful wretch! That's mine! Give it back!" Megatron roared, trying to rise, but the damage to his body rendered him immobile.
Ignoring Megatron's furious shouts, Merlin shrank the AllSpark from the size of a microwave down to a palm-sized cube. Tucking it away, he looked at the fallen Decepticon, who was writhing with frustration.
"Don't worry, this is all part of the game," Merlin said with a smirk. "There will be rewards. If you awaken the Fallen and find the leadership harvesting device hidden in the pyramid, your Cybertron planet can still be saved."
The Stellar Harvesting Device is a powerful mechanism created by the Cybertronians through reverse engineering the AllSpark. It can regenerate Cybertron's biometal resources by extracting stellar energy. However, once this device is activated, the star it harvests from will turn into a lifeless husk, essentially becoming a "death star." To prevent unnecessary destruction, the original Cybertronian rulers established a strict rule: the device cannot be used on stars that host biological civilizations.
Merlin smirked as he explained, "Of course, you can refuse, but that would mean watching your beloved planet, Cybertron, perish."
Megatron, initially resistant, finally slumped against the cave wall, silent and brooding. After a moment, he narrowed his eyes and demanded, "How do you know all of this? Who are you? What do you want?"
Merlin chuckled softly. "Me? I'm simply the one who guides the lost, showing them the path. Whether or not you choose to walk it is entirely up to you."
With that, Merlin waved goodbye to the defeated Decepticon. "Goodbye, Megatron." And with the sound of engines roaring, Merlin turned into a flash of white light, vanishing into the night sky.
"Bang!" Megatron, now alone, smashed his fist into the rocky Gobi desert, sending gravel flying in frustration. The entire cave trembled as he growled in defeat.
After parting from Megatron, Merlin tracked an alien vampire moving through the desert, using biotin implants for tracking. He descended swiftly, landing in the desert just as the alien came into view.
"Bang!" The vampire-alien halted, alarmed by Merlin's sudden appearance. It snarled, baring its fangs.
"Roar!!!" The alien let out a guttural warning, but Merlin remained unfazed. "The test is over," he said, raising his hands. White energy glowed in his palms, casting an eerie light in the darkness.
Sensing danger, the alien lunged at Merlin, transforming into a swift, shadowy blur. In the blink of an eye, it was upon him. But before it could strike, a long sword fell from the sky, piercing the creature and pinning it to the ground.
"Roar!" The vampire-alien writhed in agony, struggling to break free. Merlin observed it with a calm expression, a glint of curiosity in his eyes.
As he raised his arm to finish the alien, a ray of sunlight crept over the horizon. Merlin paused, his eyes narrowing slightly as dawn broke.
The vampire-alien, sensing the sunlight, began thrashing violently, throwing sand and dirt in every direction. "Zzzz..." The sunlight touched its flesh, and the alien's body started to burn, smoldering into black ash.
Amused, Merlin watched as the creature's instincts kicked in. Desperately, the alien tried to dig itself into the ground, but its efforts were futile against the speed of the light. The alien's body soon disintegrated, turning into a pile of black sand.
Merlin chuckled, crossing his arms. "Well... it had some intelligence, at least. It knew how to dig its own grave."
