Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: A Cute Side

{T/N: Oh, how the mighty have fallen...}

...

Don't be fooled by Priscilla's delicate appearance, she is a world-favored individual, blessed with the 'Divine Protection of the Sun'. Her proficiency in 'Yang Magic' is quite profound.

From Graham's memories, this woman always had a special ability to summon and use the 'Yang Sword Vollachia' which is also called 'Yang Sword'.

The 'Yang Sword' could incinerate anything upon contact, and it could also conjure and extinguish some white flames at will, which are said to be inextinguishable, since the flames ignited even water. {T/N: A white Amaterasu perhaps?}

Due to its terrible mana consumption rate however, Priscilla always had it dissipate back into the atmosphere when she was not using it.

Graham never underestimated her and even admired such a woman.

"Your Highness, when can we dine? I'm actually quite hungry," Graham inquired, holding his stomach.

"Hmm? Follow me," Priscilla replied, glaring at him. She was inexplicably a bit angry but remembered that Graham had just become her knight and didn't know her well, so she let it go.

"I'll forgive you this time, just this once! Next time however, remember to prioritize me before making any requests!"

Graham was puzzled, "What does that mean my lady?"

Seeing his confusion, Priscilla became inexplicably angry again, "I'm not hungry yet!"

"Oh! I understand, Your Highness!" Graham quickly understood and found it amusing.

Priscilla, like a child, longed to be loved and wanted him to consider her first before himself.

In this situation, Graham should have pretended to politely ask if she was hungry first. That way, she would know he was hungry, and she would take the initiative to take him to eat...

Although it was troublesome, he was her knight after all.

"Hmph! Let's go. Although it's not mealtime yet, I won't let my people go hungry," Closing her folding fan, Priscilla snorted proudly and walked ahead slowly.

Graham wanted to laugh, but Priscilla's ears were sharp, so he had to hold back his laughter and follow behind, simply admiring her elegant figure.

If this princess heard him laugh, she would definitely throw a tantrum.

Arriving at the main hall, Priscilla clapped her hands and called out, "Schult!"

A pink-haired boy who was her servant immediately appeared, looking at her respectfully, "What are your orders, Lady Priscilla?"

"Prepare some food and bring it here."

"Yes ma'am," The pink-haired boy bowed respectfully to Priscilla and retreated to prepare the food.

"Your Highness, who is that boy?" asked Graham.

"His name is Schult. He is my servant. If there's anything you need in future, you can talk to him."

"Understood, but if I need something, I'd still like to speak with you, Your Highness."

"Why? As my knight, you should be more proactive and not bother me with trivial matters!" Priscilla raised an eyebrow, glaring at him displeased.

"Well, I just arrived here and am not familiar with the rules, so I'm afraid of embarrassing the beautiful princess. Besides, as a servant, Schult can't possibly match your vast knowledge, Your Highness," Graham coaxed.

"Mhm..." Priscilla's face turned slightly red. In fact, Schult knew more about small matters than she did, but with such praise, how could she admit she was less knowledgeable than Schult?

"Alright then, I will grant you the special privilege of speaking to me directly."

"You are truly magnanimous. It is my honor to be your knight," Graham hit Priscilla with another compliment.

Priscilla glanced at him and smiled with pleasure.

She knew Graham was flattering her, but she couldn't resist it. {T/N: Dude quickly turned from 'Kick-ass' to 'Kiss-ass'. Many say power corrupts, what about beauty?}

Besides, wasn't it a fact that she was magnanimous and cared for her subordinates?

Soon, Schult arrived with a sumptuous meal. He unfolded an elegant table and placed the dishes one by one. Finally, he bowed to Priscilla and quickly retreated to the the door. He would wait there and clean up after they finished eating.

Moreover, knowing the meal was for Graham, Schult had prepared extra, including plenty of meat.

'What a considerate servant. I wonder how Priscilla trained him...' Graham mused.

"Go ahead, help yourself," Priscilla said, gesturing invitingly.

Her demeanor was graceful, and her face flushed with confidence, making her look very charming.

"Don't mind if I do." Graham nodded and sat down without hesitation. Grabbing a chicken leg, he started to eat heartily.

"This is delicious. Thank you for the meal, Your Highness," Graham gave her a thumbs-up after swallowing his food.

Seeing Graham eat so heartily made her a bit hungry too, but remembering her earlier declaration ("I'm not hungry yet!"), she felt embarrassed to eat.

"Hmph," Priscilla therefore snorted at Graham and turned her head slightly.

Graham noticed her little act and found it even more amusing.

This woman had such a cute side; it was truly interesting.

"Your Highness, let's eat together," he offered.

Priscilla's face turned red with anger, "Huh? You insolent fool! Didn't I tell you... I'm not hungry!"

'What's wrong with this person!? Is he trying to embarrass me!?' she reasoned.

"Oh, that's a shame. So, the princess doesn't want to dine with me? I understand..." Graham said, acting as if he was turning his frustration into appetite, eating even faster.

"Hmph. Rude," Priscilla snorted coldly, but her eyes kept glancing at him, looking conflicted.

She wanted to say it wasn't like that, but her pride wouldn't let her show weakness.

Besides, they had just met, so she could not bring herself to explain.

"Ah, I'm finally full. Thank you for the meal."

Hearing this, Priscilla pointed her folding fan at him and said coldly, "Now that you're full, leave. You're not the only one who's my knight after all."

"Yes, ma'am," Graham held back his laughter, put on a bitter face, and slowly retreated, closing the door behind him.

He understood that Priscilla was angry.

But it didn't matter. If she was angry with him, it meant she cared about his actions.

After all, if she didn't care about him, she wouldn't have any emotional reaction at all.

"Hmph!"

Watching him disappear, Priscilla became even more annoyed, "Schult, prepare another meal!"

To be honest, she was a bit hungry since she had only eaten some pastries in the morning...
