Fujimaru Kyouya, 17 years old, a student at Homurahara Academy, is a transmigrator.
This world didn't seem to have any supernatural forces or mythical powers, and human power was limited.
However, the person in front of him didn't seem to grasp that simple truth.
"Shirou, don't you have a big house? How did you still manage to get yourself hurt while working part-time?"
He looked at the red-haired boy in front of him, Shirou Emiya. He knew that his friend was being a little stubborn, but his level of persistence was almost shocking.
"I just... wasn't careful..."
"No, you definitely took a work you couldn't handle because someone asked you to, right?"
He easily saw through the lie of this fool.
"Shirou, this isn't like high jumping. Back then, you could do as many times as you wanted, but how are you supposed to do it again if you got injured?"
After watching him practice high jumping, Kyouya had become friends with Shirou back then.
He admired Shirou for not giving up but realized the harm after they became friends.
This guy was absolutely the type to sacrifice himself for others without a second thought.
Kyouya didn't think such a mindset was terrible, but Shirou didn't think much of himself and almost neglected himself.
This was something that was unacceptable as a friend.
"Kyouya, I've told you about my childhood, right? I was the only one who survived that massive fire."
Shirou would never forget that fire when his adoptive father only managed to save him, leaving everyone else behind, and he wanted to do something because of it.
He wanted to help more people for the sake of those who died and become a Hero of justice.
"It's precisely because you were the only one who survived after that fire that you have to take better care of yourself and live well for the sake of those who died, isn't that right?"
Kyouya's words struck him right in his weak spot.
After sensing the tension in the air, Shinji Matou took the opportunity to lead his sister to the kitchen, intentionally giving the two enough space to talk in private.
Shinji naturally agreed with Fujimaru's words. He had been annoyed with Shirou's personality for a long time.
"But I..."
Shirou understood his own flaws, but understanding didn't necessarily mean he could change, and the lives of the people who died in that fire were pressuring him down.
"Then, at least for the sake of your friend, don't keep doing things beyond your ability. You can be a hero of justice within your own limits."
He knew that Shirou's personality was incredibly hard to change, but as a friend, he could at least do his part to help where he could.
"Kyouya, you might be more suited to be a hero in justice than I am."
Shirou said with a sigh.
Whether it was strength, willpower, or intelligence, Kyouya surpassed him in every way.
What made it even more impressive was that someone like Kyouya also possessed a kind and compassionate heart.
"You're overthinking it."
Kyouya replied.
"It's just because you're my friend that I'm saying all this. I'm not going to be a hero or play the unappreciated role of a hero."
As someone who had lived two lives, Kyouya no longer had any dreams of being a hero.
He understood that the human limit was mostly just protecting the people around him.
After leaving that thought, Kyouya went home.
He had parents who loved and cared for him and a little sister he needed to protect in this life.
Becoming a hero... that would be irresponsible toward the people who loved him.
"Detecting Shirou Emiya's wavering on 'hero of justice.' You have had enough influence on this world... loading 'Hero Simulator'..."
What the heck was that?
A cold, mechanical voice suddenly echoed in Kyouya's mind, startling him.
He quickly scanned the empty streets around him, but there weren't any people in sight, and he was completely alone.
"1%... 33%... 66%... 99%... loading complete."
'Did I just run into a ghost?'
He double-checked his surroundings to confirm that no one was nearby but quickly calmed down.
After all, he was already an anomaly—a transmigrator—something not even science could explain.
"The simulation will now begin. Please choose three birth skills."
An inexplicable darkness engulfed him, shrouding everything in pitch black with ten glowing orbs flying toward him.
"So, these are what you'd call 'skills'?"
He muttered, staring at the glowing orbs.
There's only silence.
He could only silently make his selections in his mind. The moment he made his choices, the three glowing orbs fused with his body.
"Holy Sword Blessing A++: You are a person blessed by the Holy Sword. A unique sword of your own is waiting for you somewhere in the world."
"Divinity A+: The final counterattack of the end of the Age of God. You have gained incredibly strong physical abilities, and both the quality and quantity of your magical circuits have reached the level of a God."
"Instinct A: The ability to always instantly identify "the best personal course of action" during combat, even to the extent of 'predicting the future' in some cases."
Since Kyouya couldn't see inside the glowing orbs, selecting his kills felt like opening a blind box.
He had no idea whether his luck was good or bad, as there was too much in this strange world that he didn't understand.
"Age of Gods, Holy Sword, magical circuits, predicting the future... what are all of these?"
Unfortunately, the "Hero Simulator" didn't have any beginner tutorials. It didn't respond to Fujimaru Kyouya's questions and simply continued operating on its own.
"Skills Confirmed. Starting script 'The Fight of the Two Dragons.'"
