After shouting, Anastasia dashed over, infuriated to see her parents battling and being dragged away by security guards. She rushed forward to stop them. "Let go! Stop struggling. I have something to say."
The security guards knew Anastasia, but they ignored her. Instead of releasing her parents, they looked to Brendan for direction.
"Anastasia Reed." Brendan looked at her with a smug grin. "I've said all along that I would kick you and your family of leeches out."
He scrutinized Anastasia's face, searching for signs of pleading, sorrow, and anguish. But Anastasia glared at him coldly and snapped, "Are you a dimwit?"
"What did you say?!" Brendan barked furiously.
Anastasia confronted him directly, "Are you brainless? Because I cannot persuade Orion Industries to abandon their decision to sue Spark Enterprises, the company will be forced to pay substantial compensation. Spark Enterprises may go bankrupt as a result. Instead of addressing this pressing issue, you come to my house to throw your weight around. Don't you think you're being stupid? Are you even thinking? What kind of general manager are you? You can't solve matters by your own hand, and instead of planning and finding solutions, you just come here and do senseless things for our family. "
"You!" Brendan was stunned into silence. He had been so fixated on the prospect of kicking out Anastasia and her family that he hadn't realized her failure would also mean a substantial financial loss for the Reeds.
Brendan's face turned pale, and his hand began to tremble. If Spark Enterprises went bankrupt just days after he took over, he would be the laughingstock of Emerald Coast County!
"Indeed, you're brainless," Charlotte called, mocking him.
"Shut up!" Brendan yelled in frustration, glaring at Charlotte. But then he noticed the elegant and eye-catching silvery-red Lamborghini parked outside. It was a limited-edition sports car worth millions!
Brendan's eyes widened. "How could you spend the Reeds' money on such an expensive car? I've never bought such a costly car in my life!"
Fuming at his accusations, Charlotte shouted back, "Rubbish! The Monroe's gave me this car as a betrothal gift; it has nothing to do with the Reeds."
Monroe's? Betrothal gift? Brendan's mind raced. He recalled hearing that the head butler of the Monroe's, the wealthiest family in Emerald Coast County, had visited Anastasia's home with a package of money, title deeds, and a car because Damien Monroe's son wanted to marry Charlotte. At the time, he hadn't believed it. How could a Monroe take a liking to Charlotte? They must be hallucinating.
Damien Monroe's family was the wealthiest in Emerald Coast County, with a fortune far exceeding the Reeds'. Besides, Charlotte Reed was the daughter of a bastard and wasn't as attractive as her sister, Anastasia. What did the Monroes see in her?
But the dazzling Lamborghini in front of their house confirmed that Damien Monroe did indeed want his son to marry Charlotte Reed, and they had sent substantial betrothal gifts!
Despite this revelation, Brendan's priority was to expel Anastasia's family without letting them take any of the betrothal gifts from the Monroes.
With a stern glare, Brendan instructed the security guards, "Ignore them. Drag everyone out and ensure they don't take anything! All the things they enjoyed are no longer theirs."
"What? Wait! How dare you!" Claudia screamed, shoving the guards holding her as she tried to rush back into the house. Her life's savings and the massive chest of betrothal gifts worth at least fifteen million or more were under her bed. She couldn't let Brendan take them away!
Despite her determination, Claudia was just an ordinary middle-aged woman who couldn't escape the guards' grip.
"Let go of my mother!" Anastasia and Charlotte rushed to help, but they were no match for the burly security personnel. Brendan laughed loudly as he watched the struggling trio. The scene in front of him is something he imagined and looked forward to years back.
He approached Anastasia, grabbed a tuft of her hair, and tugged sharply. "Get lost, Anastasia Reed, with your disgusting family! I'm telling you, I'm not giving up Spark Enterprises, even if it gets wrecked in my hands. Don't ever think you can have it! You wish!"
Anastasia's bloodshot eyes filled with hatred as she glared at Brendan.
"Hahaha, you're angry. What can you do to me? You are such a weakling!" Brendan laughed arrogantly, tugging her hair harder.
"Let go of my sister!" Charlotte cried, trying to pry Brendan's hand away but failing.
"Ethan!" Both sisters were on the verge of tears when they finally saw Ethan clearly. Charlotte, who had witnessed Ethan's fighting abilities before, felt she had found her savior.
Brendan was startled when his wrist was grasped. Seeing Ethan, he sneered dismissively, "What can you do to me? You're nothing. Let go of me, or else..."
Before he could finish, a loud snap and searing pain shot through his wrist; the agony nearly caused him to pass out! An excruciating pain he only felt for the first time of his life.
"Ah! My wrist!" Brendan screamed like a wounded animal.
Ethan grabbed Brendan by the collar and effortlessly tossed him away from Anastasia's courtyard. Brendan, weighing around 80 kg, was thrown like a ragdoll for almost eight meters far!
When he landed, Brendan howled in pain again. So much for him to bear.
Everyone was stunned! They were utterly surprised!
The security guards were so shocked that they forgot to help Brendan. To them, it required incredible strength to lift someone as heavy as Brendan and hurl him away effortlessly over an almost eight-meter distance.
