Knot Wedding Resort
She quickly glanced at her messages. There was a pin on a location close to the resort—it looked like an upscale clothing store nearby. Taking a deep breath, she headed towards it, her heels clicking softly on the stone path.
Savannah was confused as she stood at the entrance of the elegant boutique, the high-end decor and luxury fabrics overwhelming her senses. She had never expected Blaze to call her to such a place, especially when he had kept everything so secret.
The boutique was nearly empty, only a few staff members standing at attention, but everything looked too pristine, almost too expensive, and it made Savannah feel out of place.
"What's going on here?" she asked Blaze, her voice showing how confused she was.
Blaze stood in the middle of the store with a calm smile and said, "You showed up?"
Savannah nodded, still not sure what to think. "Yeah, I had to. So, what's all this about?"
Blaze chuckled softly, gently brushing her hair behind her ear. "These are the dresses. Try them on," he said like it was no big deal.
"What? Why?" she asked, sounding both shocked and curious.
Blaze's eyes softened, and he stepped back, looking at her with a bit of worry. "The dress your best friend picked was torn. But don't worry, I've got everything handled."
He waved at the staff, and they started bringing out dress after dress for Savannah to try on.
Savannah's heart raced. "These are too much... It's all so expensive."
Blaze didn't falter, his confidence unwavering. "Trust me, Ana. Just try them. For me."
She hesitated but, sensing his insistence, she reluctantly agreed. The staff led her to a fitting room, and after a few moments, she emerged in a delicate lilac dress, the fabric flowing gracefully around her. It was sheer, elegant, and a far cry from the simplicity she was used to.
Blaze's eyes widened the moment he saw her, his breath hitching. He took a few steps towards her, mesmerized by her beauty. "Perfect, honey." he murmured, his voice low and appreciative.
Savannah, still feeling a bit nervous, gave a small smile. "Then let's get this one."
Blaze shook his head, his eyes sparkling playfully. "Nah, try something else too, honey."
Savannah frowned but agreed. "Alright."
She went back into the fitting room, taking a bit more time this time. Blaze looked around the store, but kept checking on the changing room. He noticed a pair of heels that caught his eye and, while he waited, picked them up to check out the design.
Then, the soft sound of the door opening pulled him out of his thoughts. He turned around and saw Savannah standing there in another dress—a light, almost see-through lilac lace gown that sparkled in the soft lights of the shop. She looked like an angel, with her delicate features framed by the fancy lace.
Blaze was totally mesmerized. Emotions surged through him as he walked up to her, the heels still in his hands. Without saying a word, he dropped to his knees right in front of her, his eyes fixed on hers. Gently, he took her foot in his hands and placed it on his thigh. As he carefully put the heels on her feet, his touch was gentle and intimate. Savannah couldn't help but feel the significance of the moment.
"Perfect." he whispered again, his voice heavy with admiration.
Savannah's heart raced as she gave a soft smile. "You really think so?"
Blaze looked up at her, his eyes filled with quiet intensity. "More than you know, honey. More than you know."
"Thanks," she said softly, looking at him in the mirror. "For everything."
Blaze moved closer and put a gentle hand on her shoulder. "You don't have to thank me. You deserve to feel amazing, Savannah. Always."
Her heart filled up.
Knot Wedding Resort
The day of the wedding finally came, shining bright with golden sunlight. The place looked perfect, with rows of chairs set up on the soft green lawn, all facing an arch covered in flowers. People started gathering, dressed up in their best clothes, chatting and smiling as they waited for the ceremony to begin.
Savannah stood with lilac flowers in her hand, waiting for her friend to appear anytime, Simon too stood there on the other side, there bridesmaid dresses were now different as Savannah had to change the plans, Simon was confused at first but Savannah filled her up with the situation that happened earlier, Anastasia was feeling guilty about how could shr didn't know and let this happen, she was angry at first but Savannah talked things out with her.
The murmur of voices quieted as the music began to play. All heads turned toward the entrance, where Anastasia appeared, her arm linked with her father's. A collective sigh of admiration rippled through the crowd as the bride began her walk down the aisle. Her gown was exquisite, shimmering softly in the sunlight, with a veil that trailed gracefully behind her.
Everyone stood up, watching her every move. She smiled warmly at the guests, looking both excited and emotional. When she saw Savannah, her smile got even bigger, and she gave a little thumbs-up. Savannah laughed softly, wiping away tears, and gave the thumbs-up right back. It was a private moment between them, a silent nod to their special connection.
As Anastasia's eyes shifted forward, they locked onto Noah. He stood at the end of the aisle, his face alight with love and anticipation. His posture was steady, but the emotion in his eyes was unmistakable. He only had eyes for her, and in that moment, the world seemed to fade away for the two of them.
Savannah now sat in the front row, her heart bursting with joy for her best friend, Anastasia. They had dreamed about this day since they were little girls playing make-believe weddings. She looked down the aisle, picturing how happy Anastasia would be as she walked towards her future. It took longer than anyone thought it would, but here they were, and Savannah felt so lucky to be part of it.
Next to her, Blaze reached over and held her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. His warm touch made her feel more grounded. She turned to look at him, and his eyes were soft, showing how happy he was for her. Blaze could see the pure joy on her face, and he loved seeing her so happy for someone she loved.
Savannah watched her best friend with a full heart, her hand still clasped in Blaze's. She glanced at him briefly, finding comfort in his presence. He gave her a small nod, as if to say, I'm here with you. She smiled back, feeling grateful for him in ways words couldn't capture.
Anastasia reached Noah, her father placing her hand in his.
The ceremony unfolded like a scene from a dream. Anastasia and Noah exchanged vows that spoke of their journey, their love, and their promises for the future. Their words were heartfelt, drawing tears from the guests and laughter at moments of shared humor. Savannah's heart brimmed with emotion, her tears flowing freely as she witnessed the profound connection between the couple.
The applause that followed their pronouncement as husband and wife echoed across the venue, filling the air with jubilance. Anastasia and Noah's kiss was met with cheers and the rustling of flower petals tossed into the air. The newlyweds' joy was infectious, spreading through the crowd like sunlight breaking through clouds.
After the ceremony, the reception started under a canopy of twinkling lights. The place was alive with music, laughter, and heartfelt toasts.
Savannah watched as Anastasia and Noah shared their first dance. They moved gracefully, filled with love. She couldn't help but smile, her heart full as she cheered them on.
Blaze, sitting next to her, leaned in and whispered, "Thinking they're perfect together?"
Now Savannah wasn't surprised how he again read her mind.
She knew he was a god especially sent for her. She kind of liked it. Shr doesn't have to explain things to him, he'll get them without her saying any words.
Savannah nodded, her eyes never leaving the couple. "They really are. I'm so happy for them."
As the evening went on, Savannah got caught up in the fun. She danced, laughed, and had a great time with everyone. Blaze stayed close by her side, and his company made her feel really good.
Later on, when most of the guests were starting to calm down, Savannah and Blaze moved away from the crowd. They found a quiet spot under the stars. The cool night air felt nice, and they could still hear faint sounds of laughter and music in the distance.
Blaze turned to her, looking thoughtful. "You know, seeing everyone today made me think about something."
Blaze tilted his head, interested. "What's that?"
She said, "Love... real love... it's worth everything. The effort, the challenges, the times when you're unsure. It's all worth it when you're with the right person."
His heart skipped a beat when she spoke. She looked into his eyes and felt her breath catch. The emotions there were overwhelming. "I think you're right." He whispered softly.
Blaze took her hand, his touch warm and steady. "I'm so glad I'm here with you, Ana. You make everything better."
She smiled and leaned into him as the stars shimmered above. In that quiet moment, surrounded by the sounds of celebration and the promise of love, Savannah felt really grateful. She was thankful for Anastasia, for the day itself, and especially for Blaze—the guy who had made her life amazing.
Sometime Later
Blaze stood at the edge of the garden, his broad shoulders outlined against the soft glow of fairy lights in the trees.
Laughter and the sound of clinking glasses from the wedding reception floated in the air, but Blaze's mind was somewhere else. He scanned the crowd absentmindedly, his sharp eyes stopping where Savannah had walked.
She had gone to the bathroom to fix her makeup. Her voice had been shaking when she explained earlier.
Watching her best and only friend, Anastasia, getting married was too much for her. Blaze saw the tears welling up in her eyes and how she gripped her champagne glass too tight.
He offered to go with her, but she shook her head no, saying it wouldn't look good if they both left. "I'll only be gone five minutes." she insisted.
Blaze reluctantly let her go, but he felt uneasy. Now, standing there alone, he started counting the seconds.
"Hope you're having a great time." someone called from behind him, interrupting his thoughts.
Blaze turned sharply, his eyes narrowing just a bit. There stood the newlyweds—Noah and Anastasia. Noah's face was beaming with joy; his big smile said it all. Next to him, Anastasia looked different—her face was calm but distant, her lips pressed tight.
"Yeah." Blaze said shortly, not sounding too interested.
Noah didn't seem to notice. "Great to see you here, Mr. Baldwin." he said warmly, full of respect. "Your being here really means a lot."
Anastasia looked at Noah, her eyebrows furrowing. "You know him?" she asked, sounding confused.
"Of course!" Noah said excitedly, his eyes shining. "Everybody knows him! The Baldwin—he's a legend in his field. My role model."
Blaze's lips twitched, but he stayed quiet. Anastasia looked back and forth between them, her face giving nothing away.
"Well," he said at last, "let us know if you need anything, Mr. Baldwin." His voice was polite, but there was an edge to it.
Before Blaze could say anything, a voice from across the garden called out to Noah. He quickly kissed Anastasia's cheek and said, "I'll be right back, sweetheart." then rushed off.
The air between Anastasia and Blaze got tense. She looked away, feigning interest in the flowers, and broke the silence.
"Where's Savannah?" she asked, trying to sound casual.
"In the restroom." Blaze replied bluntly.
Anastasia stumbled over her words, blurting out, "Leave her."
As soon as they were out, she felt a heavy regret settle in. She froze, understanding the weight of what she had just said.
Blaze's face changed in an instant. His eyes darkened, and his jaw clenched. He stepped closer, and his presence made her instinctively step back.
"Do. Not. Fucking. Meddle."
He said, his voice low and sharp, each word cutting through the air.
"If I wanted to, I could turn this whole place flooded with blood as a wedding gift for you. Savannah is the only thing keeping me from doing that."
Anastasia's breath hitched. The rage coming off Blaze was intense, and she had to fight not to break down right there. What he just said now totally filled her with fear, her heart was thumping hard, making it difficult for her to even breath.
"You're not good for Savannah; leave her before—" she stammered, her voice barely audible.
A voice cut in.
"What?!"
One word hung in the air. Anastasia turned around and saw Savannah a few feet away, arms crossed and face unreadable. Savannah's eyes locked onto hers, sharp and intense.
Anastasia felt a chill. Her mind went blank with panic. Had Savannah heard enough?
