Chapter 99 - Chapter 98 - "She can't know anything."

Boutique

Savannah had been looking forward to this moment for a while.

She was out shopping with her best friend, Anastasia, and their other friend Simon, searching for the perfect wedding dress for Anastasia.

They finally picked one and were about to head out when Anastasia suddenly stopped. She grinned and pulled out the bridesmaid dress she had picked for Savannah and Simon.

When Savannah saw it, she was taken aback—it was beautiful but also made her feel emotional. Thinking about standing next to Anastasia on her special day filled her heart with joy.

Simon tried to cheer things up, saying they should save the waterworks for the actual wedding.

Just as Savannah was about to say yes to trying on the bridesmaid dress, a loud and stern voice cut through the air.

"No! She can't."

They all turned around, and Savannah was shocked to see Blaze standing there—.

He was dressed in his usual dark three-piece suit, looking sharp as ever, with his hair perfectly styled, like he'd just stepped out of the shower.

He looked great, but there was also something kind of intimidating about how he stood there, like he had this silent power.

He walked towards Savannah, each step making him seem even more powerful, his eyes locked onto hers.

Simon watched Blaze in amazement, almost like she was seeing a god walk into the room. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Blaze got right up close to Savannah. She was still confused and asked out the question that was on her mind.

"What do you mean? Why can't I try it on?"

Blaze tilted his head, his gaze softening as he spoke.

"Honey, how can you wear that without me here with you?"

His voice was gentle, but the meaning behind his words hit her hard. He was trying to be a part of this moment, a part of her little joy.

Savannah was confused at first but then got it, and she beamed up at him, her eyes all bright and happy.

"You're such a baby," she giggled, patting his head like she would a pat baby. Blaze just grinned, loving the attention and how good it felt when she touched him.

Simon couldn't help but step forward, curious.

"Wait... so you're here to see her in the dress?" Her voice was a mix of amazement and bewilderment.

Blaze didn't take his eyes off Savannah as he pulled her closer, hugging her tight around the waist.

"Are you really here for me?" Savannah asked the same question to be more sure, even though she knew the answer.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world"

He said softly but with lots of feeling. It was clear she meant everything to him.

Savannah felt a wave of happiness wash over her, grateful for his attention and affection.

"Can I go try it on now?" she asked, a soft smile on her lips.

Blaze slowly nodded. "Sure. I'll be waiting here."

He let her go and watched her head to the changing room, a soft look in his eyes still simmering.

Simon trailed after Savannah, still gawking at Blaze, who stayed put and didn't seem bothered at all.

Meanwhile, Anastasia had been quietly observing the whole thing, her face giving nothing away. The atmosphere shifted, and once Savannah and Simon were gone, leaving just Blaze and Anastasia, she finally broke the silence.

"Why are you here?" she snapped, moving closer to where he sat on a sofa, her voice tight with tension.

Blaze didn't answer, it was like he couldn't hear a thing, his eyes still on the curtain where Savannah had vanished.

"I asked, what are you doing here?" Anastasia again asks snapping at him

Finally, Blaze spoke in his usual icy tone.

"Keep your voice down."

He warned.

"Not a word should reach her ears."

Gesturing his fingers to where Savannah was.

Anastasia froze, picking up on how serious he was being.

"I don't remember inviting you here for my wedding."

She said, her voice steadier now but still annoyed.

"I'm here for my girl."

Blaze replied, not even bothering to look at her.

Anastasia's anger flared, her voice now pleading with him.

"How long are you going to do this? She's innocent, fragile. She doesn't deserve this... what you're doing to her isn't good. If she come to know the truth-"

Blaze cut her off abruptly.

"She can't know anything."

He said firmly. His tone was final, and there was an edge to his voice that made Anastasia take a step back, her heart pounding in her chest. But still tried to be a little brave, for her friend, for everyone close to her.

Anastasia scoffed, and rolled her eyes at him.

"Fine, I'll tell her everything. All the truths—"

Blaze finally looked up, his eyes dark and threatening.

"Do that, and watch this place and people go crazy."

His words sent chills down her spine. He leaned closer, staring right at her.

"Like I did a year ago."

Anastasia tensed up, remembering the mess Blaze caused before. She was scared thinking about it and didn't want to make him angrier. Didn't wanted to witness another dreadful moment.

Right then, the curtains opened, and Savannah came out from the changing room looking amazing in a purple slip in dress that fit her body perfectly.

Blaze's face softened as soon as he saw her. His eyes showed nothing but love and pride.

He got up and walked over to her, no longer the intimidating guy he was just moments ago.

Savannah smiled when she saw Blaze coming over. She could feel the warmth between them, how he looked at her like she was everything.

Anastasia, still standing there, clenched her fists out of frustration. Her face turned red, a mix of fear and anger building up inside her.

Savannah, not noticing the tension, looked up at Blaze.

"How do I look?" she asked softly, already knowing the answer.

Blaze gave her a gentle smile, his eyes locked on hers. "Perfect," he said, his voice low and full of affection.

Anastasia stood frozen, her fear growing with every second. She had no idea what was going to happen next but could feel the storm coming.

She didn't dare say another word. She had learned long ago to be scared of Blaze, and now she was realizing just how far he would go to protect what was his.

Pesce House

Savannah sat at the rooftop restaurant with Blaze, enjoying the warm sun casting a golden glow over the city view.

The place felt fancy—white tablecloths, sleek black chairs, soft gold lights, and flickering candles. There were pretty flowers in the middle of the table, and the wooden floors shone from the sunlight coming through big windows.

The plants around the restaurant brought a bit of nature into the luxurious setting. Savannah felt at peace just looking at the sea and the busy city below.

Blaze leaned back in his chair, his eyes sparkling with interest as he watched her. "Having a good time here?" he asked, his voice smooth and low.

Savannah looked up from the view, met his gaze. She smiled softly, feeling relaxed and at ease with him. "Yeah, I'm getting comfy," she said, her voice warm and sincere.

Blaze's smile got even bigger when he heard her answer. "I'm glad," he said.

But Savannah, always thinking things through, still had some worries. She hesitated a bit before saying, "I'm just worried."

Blaze's eyebrows went up a little, looking confused. "What do you mean?" he asked, his eyes curious.

Savannah took a deep breath and stared at the table, her fingers playing with the edge of her glass. "You might be feeling bored," she said.

"I get it. You don't know anyone here, and everyone around us is a stranger to you. So it's okay if you feel out of place."

Blaze tilted his head, his gaze intense yet soft.

"I've got you, Ana."

He said, cutting her off.

"Why would I not enjoy being here with you?"

His voice held a sincerity that made Savannah's heart flutter, though it also made her feel a little embarrassed.

"You know, you always catch me off guard when you talk to me!" she said, her voice mixing affection and mild grumpiness. She couldn't help but smile at how he made her feel special.

"I know, honey."

Blaze replied, his voice full of warmth. Savannah rolled her eyes playfully, but she couldn't hide her smile.

Right then, their food arrived. Two waiters brought out a huge spread on the table. There were so many dishes—risotto, seafood platters, salads, and fancy desserts. Each dish looked better than the last.

"Whoa, you ordered a ton of food for just the two of us." Savannah said, her eyes wide at the amount of food.

Blaze smiled as well.

"I just wanted you to try everything, Ana."

He said, like it was no big deal.

Savannah looked at the feast, feeling a bit overwhelmed. "This is a lot. I can't eat all this." she said, a little unsure.

Blaze, however, wasn't having it. He took a spoonful of the Risotto, his eyes glinting mischievously, and extended it toward her.

"I want you to taste every dish in this entire world."

He said softly. "Now, open your mouth."

Taken off guard, Savannah blinked but obediently opened her mouth. The moment the Risotto touched her tongue, the rich, creamy flavor exploded in her mouth. She couldn't hide her surprise as her eyes widened.

"It's so good!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with astonishment.

Blaze chuckled softly, watching her reaction with amusement. "You like it?" he asked, his voice playful.

Savannah, still savoring the taste, nodded eagerly. "I love it."

"This is one of the best and most famous restaurant in the entire city, you wouldn't fine the taste like here at anywhere."

Blaze filled her up with information.

Blaze was smiling as he watched Savannah eat with her whole heart, clearly pleased that she enjoyed it.

But then, Savannah's curiosity got the better of her. She had noticed something strange: despite the restaurant's reputation, it felt almost eerily empty.

"If it's the best in the country, then why is it all empty?" she asked, her voice filled with confusion as she looked around.

Blaze just shrugged. "I don't know," he said simply. But before Savannah could ask more, he gave her another spoonful of food, which distracted her.

Savannah took the bite without saying anything, but something again was bothering her. After a quiet moment, she spoke up.

"Anastasia seemed a bit off earlier," she said, putting her fork down. "You know what happened?"

Blaze, who always notices things, was already getting ready to feed her again. He looked at her, his eyebrows a little scrunched.

"Really? Did she?"

He asked, seeming a bit lost in thought but still listening.

Savannah nodded, her eyes showing how worried she was.

"Yeah, she was fine when I went to try on the dress. But when I got back, she looked... really pale. Something must have happened."

She said, her voice filled with concern as she thought about her friend's face earlier at the boutique.

"You're again overthinking, Honey" Blaze said.

"Her wedding is near, her wedding dress isn't ready yet, so much more is pending to do, of course she'd feel worried about them all, after it only happens one in a life time."

Blaze added up to ease his woman's mind.

Savannah looked at him and nodded slowly. "Maybe you're right." she said, her shoulders relaxing a bit.

"But she should be happy. It's her special day, and if she's stressed out, it'll mess everything up on the wedding day." She still had this feeling that something wasn't quite right.

Blaze noticed she wasn't totally relaxed and scooped up some food with his spoon, holding it out to her.

"Tell her this when we get home," he said softly.

"For now, just enjoy the food, Ana.""

Savannah nodded and turned her attention back to the table full meal in front of her.

She took the food from Blaze, enjoying the taste again, trying to forget her worries and focus on the moment. After all, this was a special time with Blaze, and she didn't want anything to ruin it.

Knot Wedding Resort

As the evening fell, Savannah and Blaze made their way back to the wedding resort.

They strolled hand in hand along the quiet path leading to their suite, the cool night air wrapping around them.

It had been a long day with Blaze, and Savannah always loved spending time with him, but she felt like it wasn't quite enough.

Each moment with him felt like it slipped away too fast, leaving her craving more. Still, she had to admit, the day had been fun. Now, she needed to check on her best friend, Anastasia, who was feeling low earlier, to ease her up.

After freshening up in their room, Savannah headed over to Anastasia's room.

The resort was pretty quiet, and the only sounds were the soft hum inside and some cricket chirps outside as she walked down the hall.

She knocked gently on Anastasia's door. A moment later, the door opened, and there was her friend, beaming with a big smile.

"Oh, Sav!" Anastasia exclaimed, her eyes wide with a mix of excitement and nerves.

Savannah smiled back but noticed her friend was a bit tense. "What's up?" Anastasia asked, sounding casual.

Savannah shook her head gently. "Nothing happened. Just here to check up on you," she said, her voice warm and caring.

Anastasia laughed softly, her nerves momentarily easing. "What could possibly happen to me, babe?" she asked, motioning for Savannah to come inside.

"Come on in."

Savannah stepped into the cozy room and breathed in the sweet smell of roses. The soft evening light made everything look so pretty, almost like magic. She sat on the bed and waited for Anastasia to join her. Soon Anastasia joined her seating at the mirror table in front of Savannah.

Savannah's gaze softened as she watched her friend.

"I noticed you were looking down at the boutique earlier." she started. "You okay? Something bugging you?"

Anastasia sighed, her eyes distant for a moment. "I'm fine, Sav," she assured, but her voice showed how nervous she was.

"I'm getting married Sav, and it still feels so strange. Yeah, I'm a bit nervous. The closer the day gets, the more I worry."

Savannah looked at her closely, not quite convinced. "You sure?" she asked, wanting to be absolutely certain.

"Yeah, Sav! Can't I be nervous about my own wedding?" Anastasia replied with a teasing smile, though her words had a serious side that helped ease Savannah's concerns.

Savannah let out a relieved breath. "Good to know," she said with a soft smile.

"Are you worried about me?" Anastasia asked, curious.

Savannah nodded, her concern still lingering. "Yeah, I saw your face earlier. You looked a little pale to me."

"Blaze had said the same thing earlier too, but I just wanted to make sure of it myself."

Anastasia's eyes filled with gratitude. She got up, walked over to Savannah, and crouched in front of her, taking her hand gently.

"I'm really okay, Sav. Thanks for coming. I feel good now." she said, her voice warm.

Savannah smiled and squeezed her friend's hand.

Anastasia knew, nothing could make her feel more at ease than being here for Savannah.

"There's nothing like having you around to make me feel better!" Anastasia said softly, her heart full of love for the woman who had been by her side through so much.

In that moment, it was clear that even with all their nerves and uncertainties, they'd always have each other.
