Knot Wedding Resort
The afternoon air at the wedding resort was crisp, with the sun still giving off a soft golden light.
Savannah, who was feeling the warmth from waking up early still hitting her, walked hand-in-hand with Blaze toward the lunch area.
As they got closer, the sound of people talking and dishes clinking became louder. Savannah looked around and saw the guests already seated, all ready for their second meal of the day.
Her eyes spotted two familiar faces, and her heart leaped.
There were Mr. and Mrs. Moore, sitting at a nearby table and chatting away. With a big smile, Savannah quickened her pace. She could feel Blaze right beside her as they headed over to the couple.
"Mr. and Mrs. Moore!" Savannah called out warmly, her voice brimming with joy. The couple turned, their eyes wide with surprise at seeing her. It had been years since they last saw each other.
"Savannah!" Mrs. Moore exclaimed, her voice full of emotion. She jumped up, her face beaming with joy, and gave Savannah a big, motherly hug. "Oh my God, you're here!" she said, her voice shaking with happiness.
Savannah felt a warm rush of gratitude. It was a feeling she hadn't realized she'd missed so much.
As Mrs. Moore hugged her tight, Savannah's heart tightened. She finally felt the comfort of parental love, something she had longed for.
"It's been so long, honey," Mrs. Moore whispered, stepping back to look at her. "Where have you even been all these years?"
Savannah paused, not sure how to respond. "Just caught up in work," she said after a moment. "Been really busy with myself."
Mr. Moore got up as well, looking both surprised and warm. "Take care, sweetheart." he said kindly.
"May the tough days you've endured turn into good ones now." He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, and Savannah felt a huge weight lift off her shoulders.
They didn't ask about her past troubles. Instead, they showed her love and strength, which meant more to her than words can say.
Anastasia, who had been watched her parents being all loving with her best friend from across the room, couldn't help but smile softly.
She knew how much Savannah meant to her parents. Savannah had always been like a daughter to them, just as much as Anastasia.
Memories of family dinners, holidays, and all the laughs they shared came flooding back.
The Moores had always treated Savannah like one of their own, and seeing them come together again was really touching.
Blaze stood quietly next to Savannah, watching everything closely. He didn't show much on his face, but he was paying close attention, looking back and forth between Savannah and the couple.
After a moment, Mrs. Moore noticed an unfamiliar face standing there.
" Who are you?" she asked, sounding a bit confused as she looked at Blaze. She didn't recognize him.
Savannah turned towards Blaze, giving him a soft, loving smile and took his hand.
"This is Blaze, he is-" she started, but Blaze cut in with a calm voice.
"I'm Savannah's fiancé." Blaze said, keeping his face neutral.
This news hit Mr. and Mrs. Moore hard. They looked at each other, totally confused. Mr. Moore raised an eyebrow, still trying to process what he just heard.
"You're engaged, Savannah?" he asked, clearly not believing it. Savannah nodded, feeling a little surprised by the question. But Mrs. Moore jumped right in.
"You're not joking, right?" she asked, a mix of surprise and excitement. But before Savannah could say more, Mrs. Moore pulled her into another big hug, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Oh my God, Savannah, I'm so happy!" she said, her voice cracking. "I'm really, really happy for you, my child."
Savannah, though surprised, hugged her back tight. Her own heart felt warm.
"I'm so happy for you, sweetheart." Mrs. Moore went on, tears now streaming down her face as she stepped back to look at Savannah.
"You've finally grown up." she whispered, a drop of tear rolling down her cheek.
Savannah, worried, gently held Mrs. Moore's face. "Why are you crying?" she asked, her voice full of concern.
"Oh, these are happy tears, honey," Mrs. Moore explained with a soft laugh, wiping her cheeks.
"Don't mind them."
Mr. Moore called out from behind, "Our blessings are always with you both." his voice brimming with pride and joy. He beamed at Savannah, happy to see her doing well and finding happiness.
Blaze stayed a bit apart from the group, keeping his usual serious look, but he noticed everyone was now looking at him. Mr. Moore turned to Blaze and sized him up for a moment.
"I think I've seen you somewhere before." Mr. Moore said, curious.
Blaze, who didn't like being eyed by anyone , stayed quiet for a second, then answered in his usual calm voice.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Moore. Myself Blaze Baldwin, the-"
Just then, someone from across the room interrupted.
"Oh my God! Are you The Blaze Baldwin?" a woman asked excitedly, her eyes wide as she hurried over.
As soon as she said "Blaze Baldwin!" everyone started recognizing him.
The room seemed to pause for a moment as others took notice, whispering in awe.
Someone else chimed in, eyes wide with amazement, "Are you, The heir to Herbert Medical and Technology? The head honcho of the top company in the world?"
A guy stepped forward excitedly, "Mr. Baldwin, I'm such a big fan! I never thought I'd be in the same room with you like this."
Blaze stayed cool, but his fist clenched a bit. He didn't like all the attention, the way they kept calling his name, but he kept it to himself.
Another woman gushed, still looking at Blaze like he was some kind of star. "Girl, you're so lucky! You've got yourself a real-life god!" said to Savannah.
Watching the scene, Savannah could feel the tension building up. Blaze looked unbothered, and everyone else just kept swooning over him because of his status.
Mr. Moore, still trying to wrap his head around it all, stared at Blaze in disbelief,
"Whoa, no wonder you looked familiar, Mr. Baldwin." he said, his voice full of wonder and a hint of admiration.
Mrs. Moore was just as surprised to find out the man in front of them was Blaze Baldwin, a big name known all around the world.
After some time
Garden
Blaze walked with Savannah through the huge gardens at the wedding place.
It was cool and fresh outside, a nice change from the warm breakfast hall they had just left.
He held her hand, firm but gentle, as they walked along the well-kept paths. The beauty of the gardens wasn't even noticeable as Blaze saw Savannah's mood change slightly.
She had been quiet ever since they left Mr. and Mrs. Moore's table, and Blaze could sense the tension in her.
Savannah's eyes were distant, lost in thought, as if the weight of the past was pressing down on her. He knew her well enough to spot the signs – the way she smiled at her second parents, trying to hide the strong feelings inside her.
He could tell that seeing them again had really hit her hard, bringing back memories of the family she used to be so close to, and the love and warmth she once had before time and life's changes pulled her away.
Blaze gently squeezed her hand, but she didn't react. He started to feel worried.
This wasn't like her – the strong Savannah who always put others first. Now, she seemed lost in her thoughts, her spirit heavy. The silence grew longer, and Blaze felt it too – the quiet tension between them.
"Are you okay, Ana?" Blaze asked gently, breaking the silence. His voice was soft, showing how much he cared, even though his face stayed calm and his eyes kept checking around them. He held onto her hand.
Savannah blinked, coming back from where she was lost in thought. She looked up at him, trying to hide the feelings in her eyes with a smile that didn't seem real.
"Why wouldn't I be?" she replied, but Blaze could tell something was off. Her smile faded, and it was clear she wasn't fine at all.
Blaze stopped walking and faced her. His eyes searched her face, looking for the real story.
"Don't pretend, Ana." he said softly but clearly. He used her nickname naturally, a gentle reminder of their connection. He didn't want her to hide her feelings, especially not from him.
"Just say how you feel. Don't hide behind a fake smile."
His words were always so logical and real. Blaze got it. He didn't need her to act like everything was fine, especially not with him. Savannah needed to drop the defenses she'd built up over time.
Savannah stopped in her track, and Blaze stopped walking as well, still holding her hand gently. She just stood there, looking down, lost in her thoughts.
A tear rolled down her cheek and fell onto the grassqr. Blaze felt his heart tighten. He could sense her sadness and pain, and it hurt him deeply.
Without saying anything, Blaze moved closer to her. He was fighting the urge to ease her sadness. He reached out and rested his hand on her head, letting his fingers run through her hair. It was a quiet way to offer comfort. Then, he pulled her into a protective hug.
Savannah's sobs came out fast and hard, like they had been bottled up for ages. She buried her face in his chest, and Blaze felt her tears soak through his shirt. Her cries were raw and exposed, echoing in the quiet garden.
Blaze's heart hurt as he held her, feeling his own chest tighten with her pain. He didn't say anything; he didn't have to. He just stood there, holding her tight, letting her let it all out. At that moment, it was just the two of them, the world around them quiet, as if giving them the privacy they needed.
Blaze held Savannah tighter, keeping her safe in his arms. Her familiar scent and the feel of her body against his kept him grounded in that moment.
He could feel her shaking and her tears soaking through his shirt, but he stayed strong for her. He wanted to be her rock, her safe place, always there for her no matter what.
Through her tears, Blaze whispered softly, "I'm here, Ana. Always here. You don't have to hide from me."
Savannah's sobs slowly calmed as she clung to him, her body still trembling. The world around them faded away, and for a moment, it was just the two of them. Two souls connected by their love, in the safety of Blaze's arms, where Savannah could finally let go and let the tears flow.
After awhile
Garden
Blaze and Savannah sat on the wooden bench, feeling the cool evening air on his skin. His eyes were fixed on the big garden in front of them.
The sky had turned orange and purple with the setting sun casting long shadows. But all Blaze could think about was Savannah, whose head was resting on his chest.
She had stopped crying, but he could still hear her sniffle every now and then. It was clear she was still dealing with some emotions. He put his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. His fingers gently stroked her arm as they sat quietly. The weight of what had just happened hung between them.
Savannah's breathing slowed down, but her mind was still spinning from all the emotions that had just come pouring out.
Blaze could feel her warmth next to him, her chest rising and falling softly as she relaxed. They sat quietly, letting the moment last, giving her the space she needed to gather herself. Above them, the sky kept changing colors, while the world moved on around them. Both of them were contained just to sit there in silence.
After what felt like forever, Savannah finally spoke. Her voice was tiny and a bit shaky, but Blaze could tell she meant every word.
"Thank you." she said.
Blaze tilted his head, his hand still on her shoulder, not wanting to let go.
"For what?" he asked, his voice steady and calm.
Savannah gave a tiny sniffle, reminding how fragile she still felt, but she kept going. "Thanks for letting me be like this." she said, her words catching a bit with each breath.
"I don't think I've ever let myself cry like that before."
Blaze smiled, his heart swelling with love. "Feeling better?" he asked softly, seeing Savannah nod against his chest.
"Yeah, much better." she replied, her fingers playing with the edge of her lap. It was a small thing, but it helped her feel more grounded as she sat there, comforted by his hug.
"I get it." Blaze said softly, his words carrying more weight than just an acknowledgment. He felt the burden of what Savannah had been dealing with, even without knowing all the details.
"Seeing them after so long brought back a lot of stuff I couldn't talk about at the time." she admitted, her voice mixed with sadness and relief. "I… I just let it out through my tears."
Blaze nodded, feeling a strong urge to protect her. "I understand, Ana."
He put his hand on her shoulder gently, pulling her closer, as if his touch could steady her in this vulnerable moment. He could sense how shaken she was, clinging to him tightly, and it made him even more resolved to stay by her side and offer whatever comfort he could.
Savannah stopped for a second, then went on talking, her voice softer now, like she was trying to sort out her thoughts.
"You must be wondering why I'm upset, crying like this " she said, with a bit of guilt in her voice.
"Why would I care about someone else's parents? They're not even mine, right?"
Blaze took a deep breath, thought for a moment, and gave her a small but comforting smile.
"Yeah, I'm a bit confused." he said honestly. "But you don't have to explain everything right now. Take your time. I'll listen whenever you're ready to talk."
His words were sincere, a quiet promise to give her the space she needed. He held her shoulder a little tighter, pulling her closer. "I'll be always here." he said softly, "Whenever you need to talk."
Savannah leaned into him, her face still buried in his chest, and nodded gently. "Thanks." she whispered.
"I promise, when we get back home, I'll tell you everything."
Blaze felt a calm wash over him as she spoke. He knew she wasn't ready yet, but just the fact that she could be vulnerable with him, letting him into that part of her heart, meant the world to him.
"Thank you, Ana." Blaze said, his voice steady but sincere.
"For showing me your vulnerable side. Don't hold it all in." he added, his tone strong but gentle.
"Let it all out when you need to. I'll always be here for you to protect them and You."
Blaze really meant what he said. He wasn't just comforting her in the moment; he was making a promise, a commitment to stick with her no matter what.
As the night got darker and the stars started twinkling above them, Blaze held Savannah close, feeling her soft breaths, knowing she wasn't alone anymore.
In that quiet moment, surrounded only by the sounds of their breathing and the peaceful garden, he knew they'd face any pain together.
Lounge Area
Anastasia was sitting in the lounge with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Moore, and of course Simon.
There were coffee cups and snacks in front of them, but nobody really touched the food.
They were all talking about the wedding that was happening in two days. But Anastasia felt a knot in her stomach she just couldn't get rid of.
Her dad looked around the room, like he expected Noah to walk in any second. "When is Noah getting here? I don't see him anywhere, and the wedding's in two days."
Anastasia took a deep breath and sipped her coffee slowly, trying to hide how uneasy she felt. "He's on a business trip to France. He should be back tomorrow." she said, giving a smile that didn't seem real.
Her mother raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed.
"He should have been here with you, arranging things. After all, you're not getting married alone, he will be there too." he said, gesturing to her father, her tone laced with disapproval.
"What's the point if he can't take a few days off for you? This is such an important step in your life, and he's not here to support you."
Anastasia's father nodded in agreement, his lips forming a tight line. "Honestly, I just don't get it." he said with annoyance too.
"You're left alone to handle all the arrangements, and he can't even be bothered to show up? Not even for his own wedding? You're telling me he's that busy?"
"Mom, Dad, come on." Anastasia said, trying to ease the tension. "He's a busy guy. He can't always be around. There's work to do-"
Before she could finish, Simon jumped in. "Hey, did you know Savannah's fiancé, Blaze, is one of the richest and busiest guys in the world? He runs a big company, but he's here just as a plus one with Savannah."
She munched on a cookie while sitting next to Anastasia's parents. "Blaze is actually here, supporting her and making sure she feels loved."
Anastasia gave Simon a sharp look, but she didn't seem to notice. Her mom leaned back in her chair with a pleased smile.
"That man… he's really something special for Savannah." she said, nodding in approval.
"Did you hear that, Anastasia? The busiest man, who runs the huge company is here with his woman, making sure she feels loved. And what about Noah?" she asked again, her voice now a bit frustrated.
Anastasia rolled her eyes, her patience running thin. "Noah is a worker under a company. He has to attend business trips with his boss's mom." she explained, though she knew it wouldn't do much to pacify her mother's frustration.
Her mom immediately spoke up, her voice getting louder and annoyed. "We'll talk more when he comes over tomorrow. Otherwise, he's going to see a different side of me." She crossed her arms, showing she wasn't backing down on this.
Anastasia shifted in her seat, wishing she could just ignore her mom's rant. But then her dad jumped in.
"By the way, why didn't you tell us about Savannah getting engaged?" he asked, "And with The Blaze Baldwin?" He added clearly surprised by the news, even though they'd all heard about it earlier. "We were totally caught off guard."
Anastasia froze, her fingers fidgeting nervously in her lap. Her mind was racing.
She meant to tell them but got sidetracked with wedding plans, hospital duties, and everything else, she thought on her mind to give these answers but "I... might have forgotten." she said, her voice lacking its usual confidence. Her heart felt heavy as she said the words.
There was a pause. Her mom, dad, and Simon all looked at each other, confused.
Then her mom spoke up, sounding pretty surprised. "What? You forgot to tell us about something this important?" she asked, her voice sharp and not very happy.
"I didn't mean to forget, Mom." Anastasia said quickly, her voice soft.
"I've been super busy with everything—the wedding, the hospital stuff, all the planning... It's been a lot, and I guess it just slipped my mind."
Her mom still looked a bit annoyed but softened up. She nodded, understood how stressed her daughter had been. "You've been overwhelmed, I get it." she said, her voice much nicer now.
"But it's still a big deal to miss, sweetie."
Anastasia nodded, grateful that her mom understood, even though it still hurt a little that she had to lie about something so serious.
Her dad smiled warmly when he looked at his daughter. "They look so good together." he said, his eyes shining with happiness. "I saw them earlier in the garden—they're truly a match made in heaven."
Anastasia gave a small, tight smile in return. She had a lump in her throat and the words from her dad only made her feel heavier. "Yeah," she said, forcing the words out. "They do look good together."
Her dad's gaze softened as he looked at Anastasia. He seemed really proud of her. "Our girls found some great guys." he said warmly. "Blaze and Noah are both good men."
Anastasia kept her smile tight, but she didn't say anything else. The words felt stuck in her throat. Every time her parents mentioned Savannah being happy with Blaze, it made her feel even more choked up.
She wanted to scream and tell them how she really felt—how everything was changing and she wasn't sure about anything anymore. But she couldn't do that. Not in front of them. Not now. Not in the future.
The room felt like it was closing in on her, but she held it together, forcing her smile to stay put, even though her emotions were ready to spill out. "Yeah," she whispered, so quiet you could barely hear her.
But would she really be acting like nothing is going on forever?
