As we passed through the trees, the cool breeze flowed rhtymically around them. The trees seemed to be dancing in joy, finally freed from the cage, happy, but something in me felt stale. Perhaps it was because my heart felt heavy. I'm driving to the mansion in my car at 9 in the morning.
Blaze had offered earlier had he would come and pick me up but I declined because I didn't want to burden him more than I already do. He wasn't willing to agree right away because he was stubborn, but in the end he agreed, but he added the condition that he would send a truck so we could load our move out stuff and deliver it to the mansion. The truck has already left early in the morning.
We finally moved out of our precious home where we had built so many memories, Theo, me and my friend. I felt emotional and heavy leaving that house so suddenly because it holds so many memories. I hope where we are going now becomes a happy place for us as well for the time being we are there, and I will soon be able to find a new place to live.
As we are headed to my patient's house, I'm not stopping to look for it as I felt it would be better this way. Blaze's offer to let me move in there was generous of him, but I'm sure he's doing it for his father, so I could get a closer look at his father and help him recover. Therefore, I'll continue my search.
Baldwin's Mansion
Author's POV
There was a lot going on inside the mansion, it looked to be something special, but what?
This morning the mansion looked slightly different than usual, the most noticeable difference was the flowers. There were vases filled with fresh flowers that looked like they came directly from the gardens, not just one type but a variety: roses, lilies, tulips, etc.
At the top of the stairs leading to the upper floor of the mansion, as well as on both sides of the entrance, there was one specific flower that stood out. It was a wild hyacinth, a blue colour flower. It was a perennial from a bulb, colonial, long linear leaves, and a terminal raceme with numerous pale blue flowers. It was enchanting to see them alone.
"Everything done?" Blaze questioned as he walked down the stairs and wandered his eyes all over it as if he were inspecting everything through his eyes, while Arthur who was looking at all the things for Blaze down finally walked up to his boss and stood beside him, "Yes Boss" "Is it done?" he questioned as he looked at the flower there at the entrance.
Seeing the flower below the stairs, he turned to see what was doing. "What's this doing here?" Blaze inquired as he caught sight of the unusual spot for the flower, Arthur was confused as to why he didn't see it. When he did not hear an answer from Arthur, Blaze turned back to Arthur. "Would you like to see me with my beast side?" he asked his secretary in a deep dangerous tone.
"My apology Boss" bowed in respect as he said these words, Blaze stared at him for a very long time with his cold eyes as he said, "Move it up the stairs!" he ordered and paced toward the high end of the living area and sat their on the couch looking outside the large ceiling to floor glass window, waiting for someone to appear.
When a car honks after almost three hours, yes three hours to get to the mansion, when traffic only takes an hour at most, what did she do for two hours?
Blaze asked himself this question as he watched Savannha's car enter his huge front yard from his glass window, followed the car with his eyes until it was no longer visible because he had been waiting for so long, but that was not what concerned Blaze, it was what had happened during those two hours that made him somewhat uneasy?
Savannah's POV
After three hours, we finally reached the mansion. We took breaks here and there as we travelled and I knew I was running late for Mr. Baldwin, so now I'm afraid of getting scolded, "Come on Theo, get out" I told as I stepped out with my purse closing the door behind me, looking around at the house we will soon be living in, more like our temporary home we'll be living in.
Theo was still in the car with his eyes big as I turned as I felt no presence of him, so I walked over, opened the door and leaned to him. "Do you like it?" I questioned him. He nodded left and right. I knew he wouldn't like it, but there was no way out. "Come on boy, hop out!" I said, locking the car, walked towards the mansion with him hand in hand, as we always did.
There were several pairs of eyes on us as we walked, yes those men guarding outside were staring at us with strange eyes, as if they were questioning our presence there? More like they were watching Theo, "So many giant guys" Theo said to me, as he saw the number of them, did they not like kids? Should I be concerned?
I was so enchanted to see and smell my favorite 'wild Hyacinth' on the entrance when we walked inside as soon as I breathed in the scent, I smiled a little. It's been always my favourite.
As I walked further into the living area, Elijah passed by and stopped when he saw me and at the stairs Arthur Blaze's secretary was watching us too, do we look strange? Not just outside, but the people inside the mansion were watching us with a curious look, did I make a mistake moving here?
"You're here" I heard a voice from my left side, and Blaze walked towards me. He looked different than he had looked in the past, today he didn't wear any coats or blazers for his upper parts, today I was able to clearly see his upper body, a masculine figure, and he looked handsome.
The moment he stood in front of me at quite a distance, I replied, "I apologize for the delay" the suddenly "who is this kid with you?" Arhtur asked as he walked and stood by Blaze his boss, and I was a little confused as to what the question even means? "He is my son", I answered without a second thought. Elijah walked to us as well and looked at us with a confused expression. "Son?" he said, adding "Are you married?"
The second question made me sigh, I'm fed up by people asking me this question, I'd have thought about it a thousand times before moving here if I had known they would ask these questions. "No, I'm not," I replied as much as it was necessary, but it seemed he was still confused, so I looked over at Blaze who was just standing there looking at us, more specifically our interconnected hands.
I moved my eyes to Theo, saw him Theo staring at Blaze without blinking, I don't know what go through his mind, it's unpredictable, and I'm double concerned about him saying something stupid. I should have discussed this before moving here, "Do you all mind kids entering the mansion?" I asked what I thought was the matter, facing them with my calm face "Do you do not like kids?" I added "If you don'-" a voice cut me off, "I like kids" It was Blaze as he smiled at me after saying this "I thought I told you about Theo, I'm sorry--" he again cut me off. "It's fine, we don't mind the kid" he added. "Welcome to the mansion" he welcomed us again a smile but it was invisible to be seen.
As I turned to theo, who was still watching Blaze with a cold look on his face, I called out, "Theo?" He didn't respond "Theodore Miller?" This time it worked, he turned to me tearing up his gaze from Blaze, "Introduce yourself" and he turned to them "Hello, I'm Theodore Miller, and I'm six years old," he introduced himself like a good kid but "If you try to get close to my mo-" I immediately covered his mouth with my left hand and prevented him from saying anything else, everyone's eyes averted and I turned to Theo and glared at him, this kid is uncontrollable.
Blaze told me, "Come on, you must be tired, take a rest" and now I can see he sees my exhaustion and I'm glad. I turned my head left and right in confusion, and it seemed Blaze understood my confusion "Theodore, your room is on the left corridor side" he added, "Elijah will escort you." Elijah smiled at us politely. "Give us a minute" I excused myself from them and moved quite some distance so I could talk to Theo alone.
My voice trailed off as I crouch down into his level, "Don't use your adult talk here", I took his shoulder by my hands softly, "Alright, do you get what I mean?" he nodded and let go of my hold. He reassured me, "Don't worry mom, I won't do or say anything that could put you in difficult situations" as he gently held me by the shoulder. I smiled at what he said, he sure had grown up. "Come on, I'll see you after I've explored the place" he said as he stroked my hair with both hands and embraced me before running and walking with Elijah to his new room, and I watched as he disappeared.
"Savannah, your room is on the third floor up the stairs" he added "Let me escort you" he told me as I got up and walked to him, I nodded agreeing as he informed me, I couldn't talk back about our rooms being at far places, omay not so far but yeah far enough for me and he still still so little I'm concerned but he had helped me when I was in a need, couldn't ask for more, his generosity is unparalleled.
Bonus scene
Author's POV
Blaze's face changed as he saw Savannah and Theo's locked hand, something changed as he saw Theo walking inside the door, he tightened his fist all the veins was blowing out his skin inside his turtleneck, it looked he didn't like the presence of that little boy. He knew it was going to happen so he was ready for the best, but now he can't control seeing them both together. Seeing Savannnah with Theo, he just can't.
