"…and they publicly gathered their allies to be against the Mathiasen on the next game that came," she got back to telling her story of the past, and I know she's telling the truth about everything she said, because if she says her intuition is her special ability, being able to spot truths and lies is mine.

"Why do you look so interested?" Niko pouted annoyed.

Which is funny, since a minute ago he was laughing his ass off with her interactions with tribute 26, tribute 28, and their personal mentors, since their general mentor might be changed after she pushed all his buttons and mocked him in front of all of us, before her mentor took him away. That is, because earlier than that he was all sad about her story and how she suffered because of… my family.

"I never heard this story," I rolled my shoulders. "I never knew the reason, even less when the animosity between our bloodlines began. Sure, I watched her father die when I was 2, her brother die when I was 9, and her mother die when I was 16, all by the hands of my family, lastly my dad's, and I've been constantly warned, together with Dimitry, that whoever of us got chosen for this game, would have to watch out for Lovise Mathiasen.

"The last Mathiasen standing in the card to play the games, because she would come out for blood, and would one-hundred percent want our head simply for being Haynes, which would lead one of us to kill her, and end this more than centenary grudge, that not even my father or my grandpa knew the reason for," I passed a hand over my hair. "Greta Mathiasen has told everyone that she cut her granddaughter out, and that she would cause trouble for everyone, with her nasty personality, and we all knew that she would come into the game with some insane hunger to win."

"We all also knew she's the last Mathiasen to play, because there ain't another one born yet to play in the next game, in 7 years, when the cut age for the games is 10 years old. So, if she dies, this will die with her, and if she doesn't, it'll jump a year or two, and comeback on her child. Everyone thinks it'll be better to end with her, meaning they want her to die in the games, just because we all assumed she would come for my neck, or my brother's had him been picked in my place, for revenge. But now…"

"She's a wild card," Mina spoke for me. "A very charismatic and pretty and well spoken and genuinely smart wild card. Who will definitely win the affection of a big part of those watching the games, and might get lots of helping spheres from the sponsors, who are watching everything right now to pick a favorite to sponsor."

"With a genuinely catching story," Niko growled. "I want to hate this girl, but ugh, look at her," he pointed at the TV. "She just met those 2 tributes today in the train and they already seem like life-time confidants, and those three mentors are obviously whipped for her already."

"And," Mina sighed, "she ain't blaming Dom for what his dad or his family did, at all. Nothing like the chaos her mom and her brother caused 14 and 7 years ago. I don't know if she's bluffing or,"

"She ain't," I watched her in the tv that showed the cameras on the black door at the end of the hallway, all following every move she makes.

"Well, than she really is a puzzled wild card that nobody can even predict," Mina chuckled anxiously. "And she already has two allies," she pointed at tributes 28 and 26, "wrapped around her finger naturally, one that is a cute pie and sounds adorable like a cat cub, and another that she's," she side-eyed me and I looked to the other direction, "apparently hooking up with since the train, and is a flirty, naughty, cute, and funny dog puppy."

I scowled unable to hold it, "That won't work on me, Mina."

"What? You did blush like hell when she kept complimenting you."

"I am not her type," I pointed at tribute 26, "as you can see."

"She surely gawked at you as if you were, early," Niko purred.

"She is a Mathiasen."

"And you are a Haynes," Niko chanted.

"With some romantic history with her bloodline," Mina provoked.

"A romantic history that destroyed our legendary alliance and is the reason why our families hate each other, why mine killed hers, and why her people and love ones have been through so much shit. They should have never have been in a romantic relationship at all. My ancestor was a huge piece of shit, who did something horrible to her ancestor, who reacted how a crazy bitch with a broken heart would, both causing this 62nd Nightmare of a Grim Game that traumatized so much innocents," I hissed.

"You are rivals already though, they weren't," Niko pointed.

"She doesn't has me as anything, not a rival, nemesis, villain, or anything at all," I mocked bitterly. "I was raised to prepare myself to have a legendary rivalry with this pitiful girl who lost everything because of my family, and to kill her, but when I get here and meet her, she flirts with me, and says it at my face that I'm nothing at all, not even a threat, and that she doesn't give a bloody shit about me, because I'm not the one who caused her harm, my family is. Contradicting all that I prepared myself for, and that we all thought of her."

"I mean, sure, she said that, just as she said she wants 1st place."

I side-glared Mina, "She won't have it without a fight. But she does not want a fight, even though I'm bloody certain she knows that I will never give my first place to her, and that even then, she doesn't plan on fighting me, but will still try to go for my spot."

"Which means she has some sick plan going on," Niko pointed. "I mean, she clearly has the brains to craft some mastermind shit."
