"More than she's already doing?" Mina giggled at Niko. "Only if she's audacious enough to go for the 1st kill."
My eyes widened, "That would be the best for her, because if I'm reading them well, tribute 28 won't have the guts to kill and she clearly took him under her wing, and though tribute 26 definitely does have the guts for it as I heard someone telling me that he has killed before, they have implied that he's a loner, that he'll be around them but won't play with them and they will be each on their own in two weeks. Mathiasen with 28, and 26 on his own, probably to meet each other alive in the end."
"She seems to have a soft spots for easy targets, since she's been one her whole life in her area," Niko pointed, finally getting serious.
"Good point," Mina nodded. "She does seem the type, and who'd be more than an outcast than the tribute of area 28?"
I snapped my fingers, "The child."
"From area 10?" She scoffed. "I don't think so."
"Silas Mathiasen was 12 years old when he came to the games and died, 14 years ago, Mina," I jumped up from my comfortable bed, my brain working quickly. "If she pitied tribute 28, you think she won't take pity on tribute 10 when she's an innocent child the same age as her brother was? I bet she will try to get her under her wing, because she is smart enough to know that the lower tributes in the chain will target the kid, just like her brother was targeted and seen as an easy target."
"Oh, well, when you put it like that," Niko sighed. "But Anastasia is part of the privileges, she's from area 10, and the daughter of the current leader of area 10. Maybe,"
"I don't think she gives a shit," I scoffed. "That won't matter, she will only see her as an endangered child, especially because," I pointed at the big television at the side that was showing the list with all of us, "Lovise is the second youngest, after tribute 10, 9 years younger than her, she will see her baby brother on her, because she's not only a child but the youngest in the 100th game," I grabbed a bottle of sparkling water and took a sip of it, and an unconscious smile appeared in the corner of my lips.
"Something will totally happen between you," Mina chanted.
I made the smile disappear instantly, "You are delusional."
"And you were thinking about her because of the water," she said.
"No, I was not," I glared at her, annoyed.
"Yes, you were. Oh, come on, we all know she's hot!"
"I agree," Niko joined in, "unfortunately."
"I'm not saying she isn't," I growled.
For a second, we all stared at the bigger television in the middle of the panel we have access to as the top 3, in the hugest dorm, where the main camera was focused on her and on the story she was still telling. The story that the entire Mallorian must be curious about, that I bet even my father must be watching with his full attention to satiate his curiosity.
"...At the end of the generalized conflict in the 63rd game, Haynes had regained their place on top after killing Kirsten's younger sister, and making the Mathiasen end in 9th place, with only the top 8 tributes surviving it, barely, after Freya Mathiasen took them on a coward 8 against 1, and after being betrayed by her last two surviving allies. Making it even worse the situation between us Mathiasen and the Haynes."
"What a bunch of sons of bitches those Haynes ancestors were, fuck me. In the end, all this conflict was their fault," the puppy bastard snapped.
"If one doesn't want, two don't fight, puppy," she scoffed at him. "Sure, it all began with a horrible mistake from the Haynes, and they kept making more and more mistakes, but if one of my ancestors has my current mindset, this could have been avoided. But as it wasn't, it all happened the way it did, and it's now history, even if an almost extinct one."
"If it were me, I would have killed them before the games," he said.
She rolled her eyes, "Because you cannot control your hot temper, alpha boy, which could make your parents fears come through and get you killed. Besides, it would make us worse than them, because all this could only happen in an environment such as the Grim Games, where it's kill or be killed. Be it by playing low and dirty or not, the Haynes won all of their later combats against my family, and the only one they that didn't end in my family being murdered in there, was Greta's, and another six. But in all of those, they were dumb and lowered their heads for the Haynes, scared of going from that to literally losing their heads. In other words, cowards."
"Aren't you lowering yours to Dominic Haynes?" 26 asked.
"What is he for me to lower my head to him?" She mocked. "I don't even see that gorgeous men as my opponent, come on. He'll play his game, I'll play mine, stay as farther away from his pretty ass as I can, and do my thing. Then, when he least expects, I'll have that crown in my head when the time of the 100 days comes to an end, and I'll be on top. A top I earned it, not one that I got just because my family always has it and I have to be more of the same and a nepo fucking baby like our hot men there."
"What is a nepo baby?" 28 asked confused.
"A kid that grows to have all they want through nepotism. All he has and thinks he has to have, is because of his ancestors, his sinner of a hot father, and because of his families well-built empire and connections. None of that was owned and earned by Prince Charming."
