A knock came from her door and she jumped from her bed, only in her black bra and comfy cotton light green shorts, quickly putting her eyeglasses on and blinking at the first rays of sunlight coming from her open balcony, where she had planted all the seeds she brought the day before with Hope's help, since the girl was already familiar with doing that.
"Wait a fucking minute," she yelled annoyed, quickly putting her forest green slides on, and going for the door. No time for shyness, I'm hot, there's no reason to be shy, she snapped at herself, when another knock came from it. "Hope, I told you to wait a fucking," she opened the door with brute strength, "minute," she swallowed her words, as her eyes met a broad chest with an insignia of House Lion in it and 12 stars around it, though the clothes were all casual and black with just some details in gold.
Oh, hell no. Her eyes went up, and up, and up, until she found the pair of mismatched eyes that have been haunting her mind ever since she got in Alexandrini, even more after her encounter with him on Friday in the communal dinning room. Shit. Why did he had to be so fucking gorgeous?
"What the hell are you doing here, singing squirrel?" She snapped, and instead of answering, he pretty much undressed her with his eyes, and she felt suddenly overwhelmingly shy, her arms instantly covering her own chest and waist. "I'm not that short, my eyes are up here, Sisini."
"Do you sleep like this?" His deep voice was a whisper.
Her skin boiled up, "I don't see how that concerns you!"
"Well, I can think of a reason or two," he purred.
Emerald gasped, mouth agape, "Is being a pervert a thing between you golden shitlings?" She walked inside her room, grabbing her black silk robe in the chair near her bed and quickly covering herself with it. But when she turned to the door, he was still standing outside. "What the hell are you doing? Will you keep standing in there?"
"Are you asking that because you don't know or to mock me?"
She frowned, "I just woke up with your ass knocking on my fucking door, Sisini, I am not in a mood to mock right now, even if it's you. So, no, I do not fucking know why you're standing there!"
He narrowed his eyes at her, "A witchling can only enter a room if they are invited into it, lil pinscher. How don't you know that?"
What? I don't think that works with changelings. "I'm never inside any place I'm not wanted at. I'm not wanted anywhere, so, I had no idea." She clenched her jaw, staring at him, sucking on her bottom lip. Should I let him inside? Or is it a bad idea?
["Do it!"] They told her.
She widened her door, and he raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Do I have to ask you if you wanna come in or some shit?" She mocked.
He blinked again, and again, "Can I come in?"
"I'm not closing the door in your stupid face, am I?" She countered, but he kept waiting. "Come in, dude, you're annoying me standing there."
"You do know letting me inside is a terrible idea, right?" He gasped.
"I am very conscious of every decision I make, singing squirrel. If you don't come in, I'll close the door and I will not open again even if you punch it!" She folded her arms over her chest, and the second he took a step inside, she felt a wave of overwhelming magic pressing on hers, and she unconsciously took a step back.
When he was entirely in, he closed the door behind himself, "You know, lil pinscher, no one around here allows anybody from another kin to come into their rooms, unless there's something going on between them."
Another step back, "I'm part red, you're part red, doesn't it count?"
"Are you really part red?" He tilted his head.
She swallowed, "My father's red, what do you think?"
"I think there're cases where the kids don't take after their parents."
Oh, hell no. Not right now. "Well, that's quite the way to see stuff in here, uh? So, what the hell do you want with me, singing squirrel?"
"Go get ready, I'll take you to the Seven Hearts Market!"
"I'm not going, I told Hope yesterday," she scoffed.
"You don't really have a choice. This is something the ghouls' lil guardians do for them after they are here, but you don't seem to be in the best mind to go with Saoirse, are you?" When she clenched her jaw with annoyance, he grinned, "I thought so. It never happens, but according to the Alexandrini Codex, when the ghouls' lil guardians are not able to do that, the duty goes to the ghoul's monitor. You are mine for the day."
This bastard. "I'm nobody's," she hissed. "And what for?"
"To get you a wand in the Wand-Wonder, of course. 11th Years only use wands for bigger spells, or to use a grand amount of magic, but you have zero control over yours, thus the restraining bracelets and anklets. You are an even bigger walking-problem than the other ghouls, as you're volatile and need something to help you focus your magic. Thus, you need a wand more than any kids around here, lil pinscher, even more than the 1st Years," he took off his shoes in the entry carpet and walked around her dorm, all but shamelessly analyzing everything. "How did you get this amount of stuff in here?" He pointed to the shelves of jars.
"The Maniac called it spatial bags," she tightened her grip on her robe, trying to cover herself even more.
"That's not what I meant," he narrowed his eyes at the shelves with perfumes, grabbing the heart-shaped glass that looks small in his hands. "This can't be what I'm thinking, right?" He gasped, side-glaring her.
"If you're thinking it's a love perfume potion, it ain't!"
"It's heart-shaped," he countered.
"Did I just lie?" She countered back.
He clenched his jaw, "No, but if it's not love, what is it?"
"Lust," she came closer slowly, finally looking down and noticing the two cats that's had also come inside, huge cats, one in a sleeveless red sweater, and the other in a green one. Cute. "All of those," she pointed to the other heart-shaped glasses, "are Lust Perfume Potions."
His eyes widened, "No way," he glared at it, "does it work?"
"Wanna try?" She purred and his eyes darkened. "It won't work on me, none of my products will, I manifested that when making them. And I took a special time manifesting that exact rule when making all the lust and love potions and spells. It will only work on me, if I use it, intending for it to work on me. If you try it on, everybody else aside from me will be dying to get there hands in your pants and take you to bed."
Simon stared at it again, "I doubt it works. Lust and love potions and spells are grade S in difficulty, and not even the graduated get their hands on it, because of how dangerous they are."
"You do remember who taught me those potions, right?"
"No way," he gasped.
"You heard me saying it, so you know I wasn't lying when I said that she gave me all of her grimoires when I was learning this stuff. And she happened to learn lots of spells that you wouldn't be taught in here, and I got them," she knocked on her head softly, "right here and in my grimoires translated in a made secret language only I know. Oh, and, the Maniac did test everything I did to know how effective it is. But don't worry this lil perfume ain't where the real danger is!"
"What the hell was she thinking in teaching you this?" He gasped again, stressed. "You have no prior understanding in magic, and she handed you all of the crazy spells she hunted down her entire life? Selene help us, she doesn't even do that for her daughter, which is actually wise."
"Saoirse knows these, but she's terrible at it, hers don't work. I, on the other hand, got them first try, majestically done. So much that all the ingredients I used for one recipe, end up with a 10x productivity," Emerald pointed to the other perfumes. "Everything I have in here, was all done in one recipe. Am I lying?" She turned to him, a smug dancing on her lips.
"How?" He asked instead.
"I'm a special kind of overpowered," she left it ambiguous. "There are lil names on each shelve. It says what it is, feel free to snoop around, but don't touch anything," then she grabbed the perfume from his hand and put it back on its place, all while evading his touch. Then she stared up at him, the proximity between them making the air condense, and a tension build up, "Unless you wanna buy it," she whispered with a grin.
"You can't sell those love and lust stuff, Emerald."
"Watch me do exactly that, Simon," she licked her lips, and his eyes followed the movement, making it all worse. Not him, not him, not him. Nyx and Selene save me, I can't have a crush on him. "I hope you are ready to be overthrown in Grayson Qin's classes, because I'm getting an S!"
"That's impossible, Emerald," he whispered too close.
"I'm impossible," she whispered back.
"What color are your eyes?"
"What color do you think they are?"
He swallowed, "Green."
She fought back a grin, pressing her lips together, "Lucky guess."
"They are green?" Simon asked, lips parted, face down on hers.
"Yes, my eyes are green," she felt her dimples popping, and gulped, then took three steps away from him, back to safety, feeling out of breath.
"What shade?" He licked his lips.
"You tell me," she purred mischievously and turned to his twin cats. "Be careful with Jade and Peridot, boys, they are in the couch, and they get quite nasty in the morning," then back to Simon, who was already looking at her with an annoying amount of interest. "There's milk in the fridge, you can get a little bowel and give it to them."
"What are you going to do?"
"Bath, wash my teeth, and get ready, what else?" She scoffed. "Isn't that why you came here? To get me out to this market to get a wand? I bet you're as uncomfortable near me as I am near you, let's not prolong our suffering, yeah?"
She turned around went to the stairs to get her clothes and then go to the bathroom, already putting her phone to play Sand by Dove Cameron, in the speaker, since she won't risk using ear pods in the bath. After taking all she would need, she came down the stairs to find him pouring some milk in two bowels, for Alvin and Theodore. Fighting her smile, she ignored him and strode towards her bathroom.
