Chapter 33 - Bound by Fear

Kimi's POV

I ripped the page out of the diary, the sound of tearing paper echoing in the small, dimly lit room. I folded it carefully, folding the edges to ensure it wouldn't crumple, and slipped it into my pocket, the weight of its secrets pressing against my thigh. The words I had read burned in my mind, a mix of curiosity and dread swirling within me. As I gathered myself, I pushed myself off the cold, hard floor, my legs still shaky from the emotion of the moment.

I took a deep breath and opened the door, stepping out of the bathroom into the quiet of the holiday. The familiar surroundings felt surreal now, almost alien. The walls, once comforting, now seemed like they were closing in on me as I made my way to the bedroom. I collapsed onto the bed, my thoughts a chaotic whirlwind. I replayed the details from the diary, trying to unravel the tangled web of emotions that threatened to suffocate me. Why did I have to know this? What did it all mean? Before I knew it, exhaustion washed over me, dragging me into a restless sleep filled with shadows and whispers.

In the depths of slumber, I didn't realize that the boundary between dream and reality was about to shatter. I suddenly felt a hand pressed gently but firmly over my face, a sensation both familiar and terrifying. I opened my eyes, heart racing and throat dry, to find Elena standing over me. Her expression was unreadable, a blend of concern and something else—was it hate?

The moment felt electric and heavy; time seemed to freeze around us. But before I could utter a word or even process the scene unfolding before me, a sharp pain shot through me, blurring my vision. Just like that, everything went dark, and I was enveloped in a suffocating silence.

When I finally came to, disoriented and weak, I found myself tied to a chair in an unfamiliar room. My body ached as I attempted to move, but the bindings restrained me, pulling tightly against my wrists. Panic began to set in as my surroundings came into focus. The walls were bare, painted in an unsettling shade of gray that felt devoid of warmth. I strained to recall how I got here, but my mind was clouded with confusion. What had happened to Elena? Why was I here? I struggled to make sense of my new reality, my heart racing as fear crept in, tightening its grip on me like the ropes around my wrists.
