Chapter 35 - Eclipsed Identity

Kimi's POV

As I sat helplessly bound to the cold, unforgiving chair, the atmosphere in the dimly lit room turned tense as ten men burst in, their silhouettes forming a menacing circle around me. Shadows danced on the walls as they moved, their expressions hidden beneath caps and hoods that only intensified my sense of dread. My heart raced in my chest, thundering against my ribcage like a trapped animal desperate to escape.

Then, through the haze of my fear, a figure emerged from the shadows. He seemed to glide into the room with an unsettling grace, his presence commanding and authoritative. The first thing that struck me were his piercing green eyes, sharp and intense, almost glowing in the dim light. They bore into me, studying me with a coldness that took my breath away. His head was covered by a black balaclava, but it was clear that he had a strand of brown hair peeking out, like a snake's tongue flicking out from its lair.

He approached me, the air growing heavy with tension as he stood directly before me, his gaze unwavering. Despite the mask that hid the rest of his face, I could feel an emotionless energy radiating from him. He stared deeply into my eyes, as if he were peering into my very soul, searching for something only he could understand. Suddenly, an eerie chuckle escaped his lips, sending chills down my spine.

"You are so young," he remarked, his voice smooth yet laced with an unsettling undertone, as he took a step closer, invading my personal space. The mere proximity made my skin crawl.

"What am I doing here?" I managed to stammer, my voice trembling with a mix of fear and confusion, every word soaked in vulnerability.

"Aren't you the queen?" he asked, his tone dripping with sarcasm, as if he found amusement in my apparent distress. It felt more like an accusation than a question, a challenge that sparked a flicker of indignation within me.

"Which queen?" I replied, genuinely bewildered. My mind raced through possibilities, but nothing seemed to fit. What did he mean?

"Don't play dumb with me, girl," he retorted, his eyes never wavering from mine, now only a few inches apart. I could see the intensity of his gaze, the way it harbored a certain hunger, as if he were waiting for me to reveal the truth he so desperately sought.

Panic surged through me, and I felt a sudden wave of anger boiling within, battling against my fear. It was then that I felt a strange sensation—a sharp, piercing pain radiating from my jaw. I gasped, and in that moment of shock, I realized that two sharp fangs were pressing into my jaw. Dread filled my heart as a strange awareness enveloped me, a sensation of transformation.

I lifted my gaze, and suddenly, everything felt different, foreign to me. A realization washed over me like a tidal wave, threatening to sweep away the remnants of my sanity. Am I not human? The question echoed in my thoughts, intertwined with the confusion and terror that consumed me. I could no longer trust my own senses; the boundaries of my identity seemed to blur, making it impossible to discern the truth from the deception that surrounded me.
