"I'll keep him close. Just… don't take too long, Jake. We're running out of time." Claire said.
Jake stood, giving her a reassuring smile. "I won't. We'll figure this out."
As Jake walked away, Claire sat there for a moment, staring at the empty chair across from her. The reality of the situation was beginning to sink in. She had just committed to helping Anthony navigate through a tangled web of criminal activity, and now there was no turning back.
Later that evening, Claire went to the Hospital to check on her mother. She found that she was asleep.
She later saw the Doctor.
"How's she doing?" Claire asked the doctor.
"We started the chemotherapy today, so we'll have to wait to see how things develop." The doctor said,
"Alright. I have to leave now. I'll be back to check on her." Claire said as she left the Hospital.
