"Folorunsho," Diane whispered. "It's time to wake up,"
Folorunsho jolted awake, almost falling off his chair. He was surprised to find Eron Walker was somehow seated beside him. What was even more shocking was the fact that the fact that the hall was now filled to the brim by hooded figures brandishing firearms.
"I knew it!" He exclaimed under his breath.
"Yes, yes, congratulations," Diane rolled her eyes. "You were right along. Now we need to stop the Ebon Shroud from blowing this place up like a firework,"
"We?" Folorunsho asked. "Is that some sort of dish I haven't tried out because you're definitely not talking about you and me,"
"That's because she's talking about the three of us," Eron chirped in. Folorunsho gave Eron a look before turning his attention back to Diane.
"The point is," He continued. "There is no point in me helping you deal with these guys,"
"You did not seem to have this issue of the train," Diane commented.
"That was because he was an immediate threat and I had to take care of him as per my current job description,"
"And these guys are not immediate threats to you?"
"We're still alive aren't we?" Folorunsho asked rhetorically. "They've probably made a few demands and we just need to wait for the right people to attend to it,"
"The right people being every government official here," Eron replied.
He explained the requests made by Umbra and the punishment for an untimely decision.
"Oh shit," Folorunsho cursed.
"Now I will assume you have intentions in dealing with the Ebon Shroud?"
"Fine..." The freelancer grumbled. "But it'll cost you extra. Now, what do we need to do?"
"Our major concern is the bombs," Eron said. "But the problem is, we don't know where they are on the building,"
"We know of at least one," Diane stated. "The bomb on top is likely on the hundredth floor, with Umbra,"
"Why would he keep a bomb right with him?" Folorunsho asked.
"Why not? How else would he protect it if not do so himself? It is also the least likely place which makes it the most likely,"
"Alright, let's say it is," Folorunsho said. "And that we know where the second bomb is as well. How do we get out of here?"
"Hey!" One of the hooded figures yelled. "You three are being quite talkative amongst yourself. Mind sharing with the rest of the class?"
"Leave that to me," Eron replied.
The white-haired man slowly got up to his feet. As he rose, Folorunsho could see the black Revel flow from within Eron. He could not help but remember all the things he had heard about him as well.
Eron was from the Walker family, a group of related individuals who were intrinsically tied to the politics of Pedtro. Its patriarch was the current Mayor of Gian, in the east of Pedtro. Another thing they were known for was their adept Revel Users, with each member of their family being a very proficient user of the Revel Art Sound in Dissonance. All except for one.
According to what he had heard, Eron had been born with a very peculiar Revel Flow. It was so wholly unique to him that it was rumoured to have only appeared once before in another person, millennia ago. This Revel Flow made it impossible for Eron to learn any Revel Art, leaving him shunned and neglected by his family. As a result, he created a Revel Art of his own that only he has been able to practice.
"Step back!" The hooded figure yelled. "I won't give you a second warning!"
The figure's voice had called upon the attention of everyone in the hall to wonder what the commotion was about. The other hooded figures began to slowly gather, though they doubted that anything would happen.
Eron stared at the figure intensely as he made his slow approach. He was warned again but the Walker kept on walking. With no other choice, the figure let out a shot from his Revel-based firearm. A bolt of blue energy went flying at Eron. The white-haired man simply raised his hand to block the blast. When the two came into contact with one another, the shot disappeared.
That was the nature of the Revel Art Void Style. It was a Revel Art that specialised in neutralisation. Any attack made through the use of Revel would be reduced to null when coming in contact with something covered by Eron's Revel. Due to the nature of the technique, unless one has the necessary Revel Flow, practising this Revel Art would be impossible as the Revel being created would neutralise the Revel being taken in. This is why he was known as the 'Anti Revel User'.
Eron took on a back stance and launched a punch into the figure's chest. The figure was launched backwards into the wall, leaving a crack from the impact. All the other hooded figures immediately took to arms and began to fire at the white-haired man. Eron was like an unstoppable force of nature. None of the shots fired were able to reach him, as those made of Revel disappeared and those made of lead were evaded. While he drew the attention of the members of the Ebon Shroud, Folorunsho and Diane made their way out of the hall.
The doors burst open, much to the surprise of the three hooded figures standing on the other side. Folorunsho swiftly went into action as he leapt into the air and kicked the first figure in the face. Before the other two could react, they found themselves swept off their feet and crashing into the ground. Diane followed up this attack by kicking the fallen figures in the face, knocking them all out cold.
"You head up to the 100th floor," Diane said. "I'll try to find the second bomb,"
"And what if we can't find either?" Folorunsho asked. Diane gave no response. "How motivating. I'll see you after this,"
The freelancer made a dash to the nearest elevator. When he arrived, he realised that the control panel had been broken and the door left ajar. The elevator chords had been severed as well. Folorunsho turned his attention to the stairway entrance on the right. He walked through and looked up the large spiralling staircase. As soon as he stepped through someone yelled. The stairs were swarming with Ebon Shroud members who were now making their way down to him.
"This is going to take a while," He sighed.
