Chapter 6 - don't be fussy about your food.

There was a group of survivors that a vegan named Lily belonged to. Lily was not just any vegan; she was extremely fussy about her food choices. She would only eat organic, non-GMO, locally sourced produce, that was gluten and wheat free. All of which had become increasingly difficult to find in the post-apocalyptic world.

As the undead hordes roamed the streets, Lily's companions tried to reason with her, urging her to be more flexible in her diet for the sake of survival. But Lily remained steadfast in her principles, determined to maintain her vegan lifestyle as she deemed her fellow group members reckless eating of carbs and gluten as evolutionary backwards.

As the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, Lily's strict dietary requirements became increasingly difficult to maintain. With food supplies dwindling and scavenging becoming more dangerous, Lily found herself struggling to find enough sustenance to keep her vegan lifestyle intact.

Despite the warnings of her fellow survivors, Lily refused to compromise her principles, insisting that she would rather starve than consume anything that didn't align with her values. Day by day, her energy waned, and her once vibrant spirit began to fade.

One fateful night, as the group sought refuge in an abandoned warehouse, Lily's hunger reached a breaking point. Exhausted and weak from days of meager rations of kale chips. Her stomach gnawing and growling.

Lily explored the back of the warehouse hungry for anything that matched her strict dietary demands finally she stumbled upon a can of sweetcorn tucked away on a shelf. She insisted on inspecting the label for any trace of animal products.

When she was finally happy she could eat them, she fumbled with the can opener, the sound of her struggles and growling of her stomach, attracted a nearby horde of zombies. Before she could take a single bite, the undead burst through the warehouse doors, their hungry groans echoing through the darkened space.

Desperately, Lily tried to fend off the undead with the half opened can of sweetcorn, sending corn flying through the air, but her efforts were in vain. The zombies overwhelmed her, their ravenous hunger for meat no match for her dedication to her dietary rules. In a tragic and ironic twist of fate, Lily's commitment to her dietary principles ultimately led to her demise in the most brutal and carnivorous way possible. Becoming a half eaten free ranged organic, nut, gluten, vegan walking zombie.

As her companions mourned her loss, they couldn't help but shake their heads at the absurdity of it all. Lily's unwavering dedication to her vegan lifestyle had cost her life in a world where survival depended on more than just the purity of one's food choices. While she had been busy worrying about the purity of her food, she had neglected to focus on more pressing matters like self-defense and survival skills the the others in a group gained.

And so, as they continued their journey through the zombie-infested wasteland, Lily's tragic end served as a cautionary tale to all who dared to be too fussy about their food in a world where the line between the living and the undead had blurred beyond recognition.
