Chapter 3 - Chapter Three

Everyone agreed with Katie, and soon the air was filled with lively conversation.

It had been a long week, so unwinding like this was much appreciated. Lucius watched Rosa snuggle into Marks side, gazing up at him with content.

He wanted to have that.

As much as having a ton of women falling over themselves for him amused and entertained him, he knew at the back of his mind that he couldn't do it forever. He wasn't getting any younger, and he needed to settle down soon.

The girl he had been staring at earlier walked past his table, catching his eye yet again. Her dress was low cut in front, revealing whispers of a tattoo on her chest. He had a thing for fine line tattoos, so he got up to follow her. She smiled.

Soon could wait.

"Leaving already darling?" Lucius asked as they stepped out of the bar. The deafening music could still be heard even from outside, but it was much easier to hear himself here.

He rose to his full height of six foot three, and stared down at the girl, watching her with careful eyes.

"All my friends found people to dance with and left me, so I was going to go home. It's no fun sitting by yourself when everyone else is all booed up, you know?" She responded

Lucius laughed, thinking back to Rosa and Mark. "I know the feeling all too well. Here, let me help you out. You're a pretty girl, and I love to dance with pretty girls. What do you say we go back inside and give your friends something to look at? That'll teach them not to leave you alone again."

The girl stretched out her lips in a smile. "You're so smooth, is that how you pick up the ladies? Well, it certainly worked on me. The names Charlie. Short for Charlotte, but no one calls me that. What do I call you?"

"It depends on how far we go. For now, you can call me Lucius, but if you allow it, I could make you call me something else...make you scream it, in fact."

Charlie blushed deeply, her cream skin turning pink. She pulled Lucius inside, her hips already moving to the beat of the music in excitement.

Lucius looked at her in amusement.

Yeah, soon could definitely wait.

They headed back to the dancefloor, where Rosa proceeded to stare at him disapprovingly. He couldn't hear her since he was so far away, so she murmured to the rest of the group "He'll never change, will he?"

Katie poured her another drink.

Charlie was a surprisingly good dancer, so Lucius let her take the lead. She put his hands on her waist, deftly moving from side to side. Since they were so pressed together, they could at least hear themselves over the music. "How old are you?" She asked him. "Shouldn't I be the one asking that?"

Charlie rolled her eyes. "You think women don't have to worry about picking up minors either? It's the 21st century, these kids grow like crazy. Last time I danced with this guy, and he wanted to kiss me, until I found out he was barely done with highschool!"

Lucius laughed and spun her around. He needed this. This carefree banter that wouldn't matter in the morning. Carina was never interested in talking about mundane things. It was always work work work with her.

"Well I can assure you, I haven't stepped foot in a highschool in almost twenty years." Lucius said. He spun her again, this time ensuring that her back ended up pressed to his front. "Besides...I don't look like a teenager do I?"

Charlie turned to face him, her eyes already clouded with lust. She took in his features properly this time, and her mouth watered. Lucius stood tall, his presence commanding Charlie's attention. His chiseled features seemed almost sculpted from marble, with a strong jawline and high cheekbones that framed a pair of piercing blue eyes.

He smirked when he noticed her checking him out. Her eyes fell to his lips, and then widened in shock. Lucius had such white teeth that she felt he must have been to a cosmetologist earlier in the day. His mischievous smiled melted away any reservations she had in her heart, and she smiled up at him, raising a hand to ruffle his dark hair.

"No, you don't look like a teenager at all."

"Then shall we go back to my place or yours?"

Charlie tugged on his tie with a viscous grin. "Ever heard of car sex?"

"Ohmigosh, are you still scrolling around on that stupid dating app? It's a Friday night! Let's have fun for goodness sake, Rae, leave your bio alone."

"I'm coming, I'll stop in a minute okay? I just need to finish talking about my interests, and then I'll be good to go. "

Liza sighed. She walked to her room, and then switched off the WIFI. Raeylnn's scream was so loud you could hear it from the next apartment.

"Liza you cow! I was almost done!"

"You can finish up later. Let's go out. I had a hard day at work today. Someone's devil spawn puked all over my new shoes, and then didn't even apologise afterwards!"

"Hey, you're the one who wanted to work as a school teacher. A kindergarten teacher for that matter. These are the hazards of the job."

"Whatever. I need to get wasted tonight, or come Monday morning I will resign, and I can't afford that."

Raeylnn reluctantly closed her laptop with a sigh. "Fine. But you're paying for all the rounds."

Liza squealed and hugged her roommate. "Finally! Girls night! I promise it'll be worth it Rae!"

"Yeah yeah, get off me so I can go get ready"

Raeylnn decided to put in a bit of effort into looking good for their outing.

She picked a sparkly crop top that has been sitting in her closet for ages, and paired it with a pair of short shorts that left little to the imagination. Over this, she threw on a denim jacket and wore knee high boots. She spritzed on some perfume, redid her makeup, and headed out, ready to party.
