Rae sat outside for a while until she heard a familiar high pitched giggle. She turned her head and saw Liza laughing at something someone had said. It looked like this was the man she would go home with. Rae got up to introduce herself, but really she only wanted to get a good look at his face in case she needed to identify him.
Thinking about her life had sobered her up.
"Hi there. Leaving already?"
"Raeylnn! I was looking for you. Where did you go?" Liza blubbered. Rae was surprised to see that the man she was with wasn't a stranger at all, but their next door neighbour and friend, Micheal.
"Oh hey you! I didn't know you were the clubbing type" Rae said as she tried to drag Liza away.
Micheal handed her over with ease. "I'm not. I guess you don't remember, but you called me an hour ago. You were all bent out of shape, crying about how nothing ever goes your way. Something about a guy called Tony? By the sound of it, I thought you and Liza were plastered drunk, and needed a ride home."
Oh.
'Guess I'm not as sober as I thought' Rae thought as she inwardly cringed.
"I'm so sorry you had to hear that. Is the offer for a ride still on? Thank you so much, I know it's a hassle"
Micheal gazed at Liza with tender eyes. "No, it's no trouble really. It's not like she'll remember it when she wakes up anyway."
Rae nodded. So Micheal liked Liza. Even in her drunken state, her best friend was still having an easier time with relationships than she was. What was wrong with her? Maybe all the hair dye had sapped away her date-ability?
She helped Micheal put Liza in the back seat, then checked her pockets to see if anything was missing. Sure enough, her hello kitty lighter wasn't where she left it.
"Hey Micheal, I forgot something. You can drive out of the parking lot, I'll meet you at the gate."
She quickly started to retrace her steps and found it in the alley she'd been sitting at. It was nearly one in the morning now.
Raeylnn breathed in deeply, enjoying the stillness and quiet of the night sky. It was times like this that reminded her that everything would be alright.
She was about to go, when she heard the unmistakable yowl of a climax. Her eyes widened and she looked around. 'I'm too far away from the club for that to have been from inside...' she thought.
She was barely done with her thought when she heard more yelling and panting. Her face turned deep red.
The noises were coming from the car she was standing beside!
Raeylnn quickly picked up her lighter and tried to get the hell out of there, but fate must have beeh frowning down at her, because she missed her footing and fell face first unto the window.
The man inside looked up, locking eyes with her. She flinched, because the couple didn't stop their throes of passion. No judgement , but it was not a sight she wanted to be looking at, so she quickly righted herself and looked away.
She shuddered, then turned tail and ran.
The man in the car had a mischievious looking grin on his face. From experience she knew it was the smile of a player, and she knew no matter how desperate she was for love, she never wanted to be involved in that messy situation.
Car sex!? What kind of prince charming would ever indulge in that?
'Not anyone worth pursuing romantically, that's for sure' Rae though to herself.
Little did she know, fate had already set into motion a series of events that would challenge her perceptions and lead her on a journey she never anticipated—one that would intertwine her fate with that of the charismatic stranger who had winked at her while in the middle of pleasing another woman.

Charlie grinned as Lucius rolled off of her.
After they were done in the car, they still couldn't keep their hands off each other, so they booked an hour in a motel nearby, and went at it again. Maybe it was the thrill of the illicit rendezvous or the adrenaline from sneaking around, but for now, things were perfect.
As his chest heaved from exertion, Lucius traced a finger along the beads of sweat glistening on her skin. "You were amazing."
He really meant it. Maybe this was what Katie meant when she said the one for him would find him. Maybe Charlie was the girl who would finally take his mind off of Carina. Maybe later, in the morning, they would share breakfast and exchange numbers and–
He stopped fantasizing abruptly. Charlie was already donning on her clothes.
"Where are you going?"
"Home of course. We only bought one hour"
"Oh. I thought we could extend our stay, enjoy ourselves till the morning. I'd pay for it of course." Lucius said. Money wasn't an issue for a guy like him.
"Unfortunately I work on Saturdays, so I can't. I have to be up early." Charlie replied, walking over to the mirror so she could fix her makeup.
"Well can I get your number then? When can I see you again?"
It wasn't like him to be this forward. Usually, he was begging the girls to leave, not stay.
Charlie sighed. "I actually have a boyfriend, so you won't be seeing me anytime soon."
"You have a boyfriend and you slept with me?" Lucius said indignantly.
"So what? I know you don't care. I've heard the rumours about you. Besides, you don't expect me to just eat one food for the rest of my life do you?"
With that, she left.
