The streets of Harlow were no longer the bustling avenues of life they once were. They had become desolate, shadows lingering in every corner as though the city itself was holding its breath, waiting for the inevitable doom to descend. The darkness that William had unleashed was spreading, and with each passing day, it seemed to gain more control over the heart of the city.
Stella, Bryan, and Sylvia returned to the surface, their faces grim with the knowledge they now carried. The mark of the chosen had been revealed, but what it meant, and how they were supposed to use it, remained a mystery. Worse yet, with every step, the sense that they were being watched—hunted—grew stronger.
"We need to move quickly," Bryan said, glancing around as they exited the underground tunnels. His hand hovered over his weapon, eyes scanning the empty streets for any sign of danger. "The darkness is spreading faster than we thought. We don't have much time."
