The Samurai is Dangerous

"Yes, I do. We will use Judge."

While I remained oblivious to what Rumi and the Guild Master were discussing. Fervis's face clouded and looked my way and frantically shook her head.

"Absolutely not! Mimi is not a criminal!" Fervis exclaimed and glared at the guild master, who cast a gaze of doubt as he observed me.

"Fervis… Rumi and I do not believe she is a bad person, but we received a report yesterday reporting 3 bodies that were found inside of the Great Forest of Aredih." As the guild master spoke, I finally became aware of what was going on.

Fervis turned to me with a panicked expression as she likely became aware of what the guild master was referencing. Fervis opened her mouth to speak, but her breathing became horse almost as if the words had been clogged into her mouth. 'As if I would let her take responsibility for that anyway. If these people have a problem with what I did, then they will have to approach me and not Fervis.'

"I killed them. Is that a problem?" I turned my attention to the guild master and stared him in the eyes as I spoke with my gaze unwavering. As our gazes clashed, the guild master suddenly shifted his right hand backward, which had been positioned at his side for the entire conversation. 'What is he planning?

This sudden shift in movement would usually result in me making a move to incapacitate him, but this was a person that Fervis was very familiar with. 'If I cut his arm off, Fervis absolutely would be upset, right? That thought causes me even more pain than the threat of my own safety. How did I become this weak? I would've already killed this old man three times over.'

Moments after the guild master's strange hand motion, the surrounding ground began to rise and a large clear prism was formed around me. I was still able to see outside of it, which shocked me at first, but the strange feeling of energy made It obvious to me that this was the power of that man's magic.

The Prism was just large enough for my body to fit inside of it, but I had no space to reach for either of my Katana's nor could I reach into my backpack for the small dagger that Luna had given me. My hands were forced to my side as the pressure inside of the prism forced out short and quick breaths from me.

'This trap is the perfect trap to stop a Samurai such as myself. I can't feel any presence of Mythica inside of here as well. There is nothing I can do, I guess. That old man must have been assessing me since the moment we first interacted to come up with something like this so quickly. So cunning yet, he remained completely silent and lured me into such an elaborate trap.'

"Guild master! How could you?!" Fervis's claws became visible when she noticed me trapped inside of the Prism.

"Fervis stay calm. We have no intention of harming Mimi, in fact, she should be commended for killing that trio. They were very well-known Dragon Hunters."

"Then why!?" Fervis screamed in the face of both Rumi and the guild master who followed with the most simplistic answer possible.

"Because she is dangerous… Just now, she realized what I was about to do…" The guild master's blue pupils clouded as he stared at me like he was staring at some sort of three-headed creature.

"Yet, she didn't attempt to stop me, likely because of you." His gaze shifted to Fervis as her pupils started to glow.

"Fervis… don't." My voice was weak and hoarse as I was finally able to muster the words out. 'If Fervis fights the guild master then she will likely be labeled some sort of criminal, making it impossible for her to live normally. I can't allow her to make that decision just because of someone like me!'

"Mimi!" Fervis shifted back to me and put her hand against the Prism. At this point, I was only standing on one knee as the pressure inside of the Prism was crushing me.

"I can't believe you're even able to speak in that state… this magic was the same type of magic that was used to seal the magic emperor." The guild master solemnly explained.

"You just said you wouldn't harm her!" Fervis shouted and took a step forward toward the man.

"I am doing everything in my power to refrain from doing just that, but this is the only magic I'm capable of using that can keep a being like her under control."

"Why do you need to be in control of her?! She has only helped me so far!" Fervis took another step forward until she was practically shouting in his face.

"Fervis, that's enou-." Rumi attempted to step in between Fervis and the old man, but Fervis simply struck the woman in her chest with her palm and sent her flying out of the room. Moments after the attack, I could feel gusts of wind lingering inside. 'Wind magic? Fervis is so powerful!'

"Guild Master, release Mimi… now."

The usually timid and cute Fervis was now twirling flames around her palm as she glared in the face of Guild Master.

"Fervis… you are well aware of why I can't do that. I'm sure you remember the first time you appeared at the Royal Capital as well." He explained, without averting his gaze from the angered girl.

"Then don't blame me for what happens next." Fervis's answer was almost instantaneous, and before the guild master had anytime to flinch she kicked him. The kick's impact created a shockwave that shattered every single window that was within the vast room.

Just slightly, the surrounding Prism widened enough for me to unsheathe Minami and without any delay, I cut the prism in two.

"Welcome back Mimi!" Fervis hugged me tightly just as I had begun stretching my arms after being crushed under the immense pressure inside of the Prism.

"Fervis, why did you do that!? Now there is no chance you will be able to continue working as a Court Mage. You will have to leave the city and become a rogue like me and-." Before I could finish speaking Fervis stepped down harshly on my foot

She quickly released me and flicked me on the forehead before shouting. "Don't ever sacrifice yourself for me! I'm not some weakling who just needs to rely on you! S-so rely on me more…" Her voice barley above a whisper as she leaned into chest.

'Rely on someone? I didn't know I was even capable of such a feat, but if Fervis wants me to... I guess I could give it a try.'

"I will, Fervis." I wrapped my arms around her and embraced her tightly.

"Well said, both of you." The guild master and Rumi both emerged from the two massive holes that Fervis knocked them into and approached us.

"Mimi, you do in fact pass our test. Take care of Fervis for us!" Rumi warmly smiled and showed motioned a thumbs up to me.

"What!?"
