The Samurai is an SSS-Rank Adventurer?
-
Never did I imagine that the fiasco that the guild master pulled was an elaborate stunt to test me of all people. 'Just what exactly was the point of all of this then?!'
"Fervis isn't just a normal dragon. She comes from a rare lineage of a more evolved version of Dragons called Dragoons. They are generally considered the first intelligent life forms to ever exist in our world. They possessed massive amounts of Mythica and could manipulate it without magic. This is what is known as Mythica Manipulation. That is why when Fervis strikes with physical attacks, she can multiply the force with the wind element." As the guild master spoke, I made eye contact with Fervis, who only exchanged a wry smile with me.
'I knew this girl was powerful the moment I encountered her for the first time, but to think she had been holding back this much versus me… makes me angry. Fervis might be the only one in this land fit to give me a truly exciting battle!'
"Long story short, if a normal human was to drink the blood of a descendant of the Ancient Dragoons they would be strong enough to take on ten people their size. If an S-Rank level adventurer was to drink the blood, they would likely become so powerful that multiple kingdoms would have to band together to take them down; however, there is one situation that could be catastrophic to every living being on this land and that would be if someone beyond S-Rank were to drink the blood…" While he went on I could likely assume where this story was going so I interrupted.
"So you put me through all of that to ensure that I wasn't just going after Fervis's blood?" I asked.
"Of course not! You're a country bumpkin who doesn't even know about Status Plates. It would have been impossible for you to know that Fervis has Dragoon blood running through her veins!" The guild master chuckled loudly until Rumi elbowed him in the gut, interrupting his rupture of laughter.
"How dare you!" I attempted to step over the table to close the distance, but Fervis tightly held the back of my Hakuma, which kept me away from him. "M-Mimi don't kill the Guild Master!"She frantically shouted which made me stop my approach with a sigh, but I glared directly at the Old man who slightly shivered when he noticed my gaze. 'Someone needs to teach this old man some manners!'
"To determine Mimi's character, we had to see how she would react in what she interpreted as a dire circumstance. So, we pretended like we were going to punish her for killing those trashy Dragon Hunters. Yet, Mimi didn't prioritize herself… you allowed us to capture yourself if it meant helping Fervis." Rumi finished the statement that the guild master had started.
"Plus, we already knew your power would register as unmeasurable before you even got here. Fervis communicated with us that she would be bringing you here after all. So, we had a good suspicion that anyone who could best Fervis in a duel with one attack was likely going to be far beyond an S-Rank adventurer, even if she didn't use any Mythica Manipulation." The guild master added with a warm smile.
"So, this was all an act from the start?" I asked Rumi as I scratched the top of my head with a puzzled look on my face.
"Well, only the Guild Master and I were the only ones that were part of the plan. Fervis was not made aware of it either because if she did know she likely would've told you."
The explanation that the Guild Master provided did in fact make enough sense even with how absurd it was. 'I can't believe her blood is that valuable! I won't let anyone even scratch her ever again! I swear on my honor as a Samurai!' I clapped my fist together with my palm creating a loud clap that startled Fervis, Rumi, and the Guild Master.
"Mimi?" Fervis reached her hand out to touch my curled-up fist as she was watching me with a pained expression. I released the fist and covered Fervis's hand with mine.
"Fervis, let's battle in a duel soon!" I found myself breaking into a wide grin as I imagined trading blows with Fervis's true power.
"Ehh!" Fervis seemed completely dismayed by my question when I asked her to battle.
"You don't want to…" I sulked and hunched over in the nearby corner.
"Mimi it's not that I don't want to it's…" Fervis's gaze was clouded with doubt for a moment until she balled her fist and walked to me.
"Mimi, in three weeks the Royal Palace will be having a tournament full of the strongest warriors in the capital and across the neighboring countries… I will meet you in the finals and after we battle I have something that I want to tell you." The look in Fervis's eyes was very familiar to me. I had seen the same look in the strongest warriors I had battled with as a Samurai.
"That's convenient because I also have something I want to tell you. Alright Fervis, it's a promise!" I extended my hand out to her, but Fervis only extended her pinky finger. 'Is this another one of this world's strange customs?'
"Pinky Promise." Fervis's warm smile left me lost for words as I extended my own pinky finger without even realizing it. Fervis then took hold of it with hers and completed the handshake.
"Well, I'm glad the two of you are so enthusiastic, but now it's time we actually create Mimi's Status Plate. I can't have the counter being unmanned for so long after all." The Guild master explained as he brought out an identical-looking crystal ball to the one that had been used to measure my abilities earlier.
"I already can guess what you're thinking and no, this is not the same crystal ball that Rumi used for you earlier. Place your hand on it Mimi." He instructed and I obliged and this time the colors didn't spiral and fill the room. Instead it just calmly glowed and out of the Crystal popped a Silver Plate that I could identify as my Status Plate.
