Chapter 58 - Tsunami Attack

Hearing Glass's account of the goddess Marin and her inevitable attack on the town, Uta and Stella were left with the undeniable truth—the goddess's betrayal was real. Glass urged them to flee, but their decision had already been made.

"Of course, I'm staying," Uta said with a casual shrug.

Stella sighed. "Of course you are. That's been your plan from the start, hasn't it?"

Uta's reason for coming to this town was simple: to defeat Goddess Marin and consume her power. He sought to absorb her divine energy, adding it to his arsenal as he worked toward returning to his world. Knowing Marin would come to him was the perfect turn of events.

As if to emphasize his nonchalant attitude, Uta held up a butterfly he had caught. "Hey, look! Isn't this pretty?"

Stella glanced at the blue insect pinched delicately between Uta's fingers. "The Deep Sea Butterfly, isn't it? Glass said it's an ominous sign."
