Franklin was hesitant. He didn't feel a sense of threat from Gallandt. But he also couldn't let himself be fooled by a false sense of security from a stranger.
He took the man's hand and shook it. When they made contact, Franklin could feel the muscle spasms and discomfort in the man's arm.
"You don't need to worry about that. I... just got badly wounded earlier. Somehow, magic won't heal my wounds." Gallandt explained, noticing the look on his face.
"I am Franklin Vaud." He took a peek outside the door and his gaze darted around.
"Please. Prepare yourself and come with me. I would like to believe it is better to explain what you see than what you don't even know." The captain gestured for him wear the clothes that were placed on the table by the corner.
Franklin went back in and got dressed. The pain had barely subsided. But it was meaningless to whine about it. The captain gave him a notebook before they began walking and he started explaining.
