Though the sword may be physical, it can piece and cut non-physical things. Such things include souls of people. Cores of people which are born from the person's Subconsciousness and desires, brought into existence to manifest their Axis-Stars.
Even concepts are not out of the sword's reach. Ryuga did create concept of time withing <Asterisk> with his own power but needed the resemblance to balance it.
Slowly, energy sipped out of the man into the resemblance in his chest while Ryuga held the hilt and looking at him from below.
"Stop." Jean spoke getting up.
"I am afraid I have no intention of doing so. If you would like to stop me however, you would fail miserable." Ryuga claimed.
"Then I will die before I watch you kill him." Jean built up more of his strength. His body had taken heavy damage from that one last punch and wasn't in the shape to fight.
