Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Glorious Return

Five years later

Jiangcheng City International Airport

The crowd was elbow to elbow, and a slender, tall figure pushed a luggage cart out, with two large suitcases on it, followed by two small children.

The woman's figure was beautiful and delicate, casually tied in a bun, simple and natural. Her delicate and pretty features and fair skin made her innocence captivating, drawing one's gaze involuntarily.

The two children, looking to be about four or five years old, were adorable. The boy on the left wore a white shirt and blue denim overalls with a baseball cap, looking very handsome.

The little girl on the right was as exquisite as a doll, with a ponytail and thick bangs covering her fair forehead, an apple-shaped bow tied in her hair, and clear, bright eyes that were so adorable they could elicit squeals!

As the three of them walked out, surrounding travelers couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.

"Are they twins? They're so good-looking!"

"They look like models. What kind of celestial parents do they have? Such good genes!"

...

However, they were clearly used to it already.

"Mommy, when is second brother coming back?" asked the little girl in a soft, mushy voice.

"Mmm, second brother has an advertisement to shoot, after which Auntie Tang Jing will come back with him," the woman said gently as she touched the little girl's head.

Indeed, the speaker was Jian Ran, who had finally returned after five years!

Seeing everything familiar, Jian Ran's eyes gradually cooled, her thoughts drifting far away.

It had been five years, and she was back in this city that had brought her so much heartache.

Back then, for a medical bill of two hundred thousand yuan, she had agreed to Song Wenli's request to sell herself, but due to a mix-up, she entered the wrong room and spent a tumultuous night with a stranger. That night led to her pregnancy, and it turned out to be the rare case of triplets.

When she discovered it, the doctor said it was too late for an abortion as it would endanger her life, so she had to give birth. As time passed, her love for the children only grew.

Jian Ping and Jian An were her sons, and Jian Le was her daughter.

Each of the children was talented. Pingping had a steady personality and was very good at computer programming; despite his young age, he had achieved a lot in this field.

Ann, on the other hand, was lively. He had recently been discovered by a talent scout and had become a little star.

And Lele was innocent and cute, a little foodie who loved drawing the most.

These three children were the best gifts she had ever received from heaven!

The person she was most grateful for over these years was her good friend, Lan Lan. It was because of her that Jian Ran had her life today.

When she ran out of the Jian Family Villa years ago and had a car accident, it was Lan Lan who saved her. Her mother's death had broken her, but it was Lan Lan who encouraged and helped her to study abroad.

Consequently, she chose the major she loved most, fashion design. Through hard work, she had won several international awards and had become a famous clothing designer known as JR, although she normally kept a low profile, and not many knew her in person.

After winning the awards, many well-known international companies offered her job opportunities, but Jian Ran remained unmoved.

Conveniently, the leading company in Jiangcheng, Haoting Group, was looking to hire a Chief Designer for its design department. To avoid unnecessary complications, she hid her identity as JR and applied as an award-winning designer. She was hired immediately and thus chose to return to her country.

Five years had molded her into someone strong and steady; she could no longer flee. It was time to face everything.

Moreover, she had learned that Jian Rou was about to host an important launch event, and she had meticulously prepared a "big surprise" for Jian Rou!

"Mommy, what's wrong?" Pingping noticed Jian Ran was lost in thought and couldn't help speaking out.

"Nothing, let's go. Auntie Lan Lan is probably waiting for us at home," Jian Ran came back to her senses and replied.

"Mommy, I need to go to the bathroom," Lele suddenly said, looking very urgent.

"I'll take you there," Jian Ran said.

"No need, Mommy, I'll take her. You call to arrange the car, right? Auntie said she's sending a car to pick us up," Pingping said calmly, then took Lele by the hand and headed toward the restroom.

Jian Ran nodded. Actually, all the children were very independent and smart, so she wasn't worried at all.

Lele went to the ladies' restroom by herself. After washing her hands, she collided with someone who had just come in at the turn. She had been very careful, but the other person was clearly in a hurry and had barged in without looking.

Lele almost fell over, so she quickly grabbed the hem of the other person's dress.

Before she could steady herself, the reprimand from the other person came.

"You little brat, do you not have eyes when you walk? Also, your hand dirtied my dress," Jian Rou said, and then fiercely shook off Lele's hand.

She was really furious. She had just returned from the International Fashion Week, and it was the first time she was wearing this dress. It was the latest limited edition from designer JR, and she had worn it especially to meet Tingjue.

Unexpectedly, this annoying little girl touched it with her dirty hands, such bad luck!

"Auntie, you bumped into me first," Lele said, frowning, with the back of her hand now red and sore.

This auntie was really fierce and not cute at all!

"You little brat, you dare to talk back? Do you know how expensive this dress is? It's a limited edition; you couldn't buy it even if you had the money," Jian Rou knew that saying this was like playing the lute to a cow, but she couldn't suppress her anger.

She had gone through a lot of trouble to get that dress, and Tingjue hadn't even seen it yet.

"Auntie, my mommy is a fashion designer. I can ask her to design a dress for you. The clothes she designs are very beautiful," Lele said proudly, her mommy was really amazing!

Upon hearing this, Jian Rou scoffed coldly, then said, "You little brat, not anyone who can sew a couple of clothes is a designer. My dress is a limited edition by the international master JR. Forget it, you wouldn't understand. Be more careful when you walk in the future, or I won't be polite to you."

Jian Rou warned her fiercely, then checked the time. Tingjue was about to arrive. It had not been easy to persuade him to come, and she couldn't afford to waste time.

"My mommy is designer JR. She's amazing and has won lots of awards!" Lele retorted, unwilling to back down.

"Kid, stop spouting nonsense. If your mommy is designer JR, I'll kneel down and lick her toes!" Jian Rou chuckled coldly, as if she had heard some kind of international joke.

"Okay, Auntie, you have to keep your word, okay? Liars are little dogs!" Lele responded seriously.

"You little brat, I don't have time to waste talking nonsense with you, you're wasting my precious time." After saying this, Jian Rou quickly went into the restroom.

Lele made a face at her retreating back, hmph! This bad auntie, she would make sure to let her know how amazing her mommy was! She could wait to lick her mommy's toes!

Not wanting to keep her mommy waiting, Lele left quickly.

Pingping saw her frown slightly, "Why did it take so long?"

"Girls are a bit more troublesome, you know!" Lele said with a mischievous smirk. She didn't want them to know about what had just happened, so they wouldn't worry.

Jian Ran was about to go look for them when she finally saw them and felt relieved.

She had just called, and the car that was coming to pick them up was already waiting outside.

As soon as they came out, they saw the car, and Jian Ran led them on board.

The car drove out of the airport and headed towards the downtown area.

"Bang..."

Suddenly, screeching brakes pierced the air, followed by the sound of a violent collision.

The only thought in Jian Ran's mind was that she hadn't checked the almanac before leaving the house today—there had been an accident...
