Gu Tingjue also turned his head, then furrowed his brows and asked harshly, "What's going on? Are you all having meals or what?"
Manager Ding explained with a pained expression, "No one in our technical department can hold a candle to that hacker; they've already tried their best. But after several minutes of resistance, they were ruthlessly pushed back."
Even more infuriating was that the hacker made it clear they were here to provoke. After the screen went black on the first computer, a turtle popped up carrying a white flag that said "Baddie"!
It was utterly baffling! Everyone was completely in the dark, clueless.
After they detected the problem, they began to retaliate, but soon realized they were no match. The company's computers went down one after another, and now it's a complete rout, with none spared!
Gu Tingjue felt there was something fishy and immediately went to his computer; sure enough, the turtle icon and the font on his screen were larger, indicating, apparently, that the hacker was declaring war on him.
He promptly sat down, his slender fingers tapping rapidly on the keyboard. Rows of code flickered across the screen, and he quickly breached the first firewall.
The second barrier was quickly opened as well, and it seemed as if the adversary was waiting for him to enter; each barrier he unlocked was met with a phrase "Blinded by sight," "Accomplice," "Baddie"!
Gu Tingjue's brows were knitted high.
Who is it?
Why would they say such things?
Had he offended someone?
Gu Tingjue's forehead furrowed into a deep "Chuan" character, his face cold as if flecked with shards of ice.
Pingping's lips slightly curved upward, feeling a sense of accomplishment as he watched the adversary's system collapse.
Hmph! Who told them to be birds of a feather? Thinking they could bully Mommy, no way.
Suddenly, his firewalls were breached one by one. Pingping's forehead creased, unexpectedly finding that Haoting Group actually had such an expert.
He was not willing to show weakness either, his small hands continuously "tapping and clattering" on the keyboard, incessantly planting seeds.
Gu Tingjue found the counter-attack somewhat strenuous—no wonder the technical staff were all beaten back without mercy.
He finally discovered the whereabouts of his opponent, "Whoever you are, I'll make sure you bite off more than you can chew."
Gu Tingjue was extremely angry. Ever since he took control of Haoting Group, those who dared to challenge him had either died or hadn't been born yet.
But this hacker did have some skills. Haoting Group's network was so secure, yet they were able to breach it.
But Gu Tingjue wasn't a pushover either; he soon locked onto the location of the adversary.
Pingping quickly realized there was a problem, "Oh no, the other side might discover me," so he hurriedly exited before a counterstrike could be deployed.
That was close!
Pingping let out a quiet sigh of relief, almost having his IP address discovered by the other party.
Luckily, he acted quickly. Although he only wanted to give them a lesson, soon, the whole company's computers returned to normal operation.
Only a few files were lost. It felt like the other party was just flexing their muscles, nevertheless, it was really troublesome.
Gu Tingjue sat in the leather chair, his black eyes like jetstones, coldly staring into the distance, continuously pondering the opponent's intentions.
"President Gu, the computers have all returned to normal," Cheng Jun reported, a tremor in his voice.
"Investigate it! See if there are any clues?" Gu Tingjue's face looked somewhat ugly, the oppressive atmosphere made Cheng Jun's back break out in cold sweat.
"Yes!" Cheng Jun felt the weight of the responsibility and quickly left.
After turning off the computer, Pingping felt quite drained.
It seems that guy isn't a pushover, definitely has some substance, Pingping came close to being exposed.
"Pingping, what are you doing in your room? Come out for dinner," just then, Jian Ran's call sounded from outside the door.
"Coming," Pingping immediately responded, then went over to open the door.
Looking at Pingping's rosy cheeks, Jian Ran was somewhat surprised, "What have you been doing in your room? You weren't playing games again, were you? You should cut down on computer use."
Jian Ran instructed.
Pingping blinked his innocent little eyes, then obediently responded, "Got it, Mummy."
"All right, come and eat quickly, we are going to the airport to pick up An'an this afternoon," Jian Ran said as she patted his little head.
"Okay, then we need to hurry." An'an is coming back, that's great!
....
Gu Tingjue's face was stern as he leaned against the chairback. He had just relaxed a bit when suddenly his mobile phone on the table rang.
He picked it up and slid his long finger over the answer button, "Mom, what's the matter?"
"You still know I'm your mother?" his mother said with a somewhat mocking tone.
Gu Tingjue stood up and walked to the window. "Go on, what is it?"
"How long has it been since you last came back? Come home tonight, I have something to talk to you about," the woman on the other end of the phone said with a colder tone.
Gu Tingjue, his hand in his pocket, and his thin lips slightly parted, said, "Mom, whatever it is, you can say it now."
He had a bad feeling about this.
His mother immediately became furious. "What? I can't even see my own son now?"
"All right, Mom, I'll come back tonight," Gu Tingjue appeased her.
His mother didn't speak and hung up the phone right away.
Yulong Bay is the most luxurious villa complex in Jiangcheng City, truly a piece of sought-after peach blossom land.
It is also a project of Haoting Group—detached villas with extensive grounds and gardens, where the residents are nothing less than rich and prestigious.
When Gu Tingjue's Maybach entered the underground garage, it made a beautiful turn and stopped swiftly without a hint of deviation.
He got out of the car and was greeted by a servant at the door.
"Young Master, dinner is ready, and the madam and Miss Jian are waiting for you."
"Thank you, Aunt Qing," Gu Tingjue said, then quickly stepped inside the house.
As he entered, a figure pounced towards him. "Tingjue, you're back?"
Gu Tingjue focused his eyes and saw it was Jian Rou. He frowned briefly, then deftly avoided her lunging motion and said in a bland tone, "Why are you here?"
Jian Rou, truly the leading lady of the entertainment industry, immediately acted like a wronged little wife, saying somewhat sullenly, "Aunt Gu asked me to come for dinner."
Tingjue's mother just came out of the kitchen and, seeing Gu Tingjue, said enthusiastically, "Tingjue is back, come on Xiaorou, let's eat."
Jian Rou's previously stiff expression immediately blossomed into a smile again.
During the meal, Tingjue's mother glanced at Gu Tingjue, then said, "Tingjue, you and Xiaorou have been together for so long, it's time to settle down and get married!"
Gu Tingjue's eyebrows furrowed slightly, and he remained silent.
Seeing this, Jian Rou hurriedly said, "Aunt Gu, Tingjue has been really busy lately, there's no rush for our matter."
"Silly girl, you're in your twenties, how many years does a girl's youth last? Besides, with wedding companies nowadays, you needn't worry about the arrangements. Rest assured, I'll take care of this for you," Tingjue's mother patted Jian Rou's hand then reassured her.
Gu Tingjue's face turned somewhat darker, and from him emanated a chill that involuntarily made one shiver.
"Aunt Gu...." Jian Rou rarely saw him speak like this, thus she was scared stiff on the spot.
"Tingjue, take a stand, will you? You are not getting any younger, what's the meaning of dragging this on?" Tingjue's mother also uttered in a harsh, reproving tone.
Gu Tingjue glanced at them, then his low and indifferent voice said, "If anyone likes to get married, go ahead and do it, but don't drag me into it."
After saying that, he stood up and walked towards the second floor.
