Chapter 10 - Handy Work

As part of their job, sidekicks were required to do regular community service. Theoretically, sidekicks would be paired with a hero during these times to build ties between the new recruits and the old guard. Theoretically. Usually what ended up happing was a new sidekick would be paired with a more senior one. This happened to be the situation that Allison found herself in, paired with the last person she needed to see, Bullseye.

Allison and Bullseye worked side by side as they hauled planks of wood and unloaded crates of supplies. The orphanage was still in the early stages of construction, and today's task was to help erect the framework for the new building. Despite the laborious work, the pair's powers made the task easy. Allison leveraging her telekinesis to move things that would take dozens on men. Bullseye manipulating kinetic projectiles to easily hammer in nails throughout the build.

The morning sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow over their forms as they worked up a light sweat.

"Hey Nightshade," Bullseye called out, his tone playful. "Need a hand hammering anything? I am somewhat of an expert."

Allison, focused on stacking a pile of timber, she shot him a sideways glance. "I think I can handle it."

Unfazed, Bullseye continued "You sure? I've got a pretty good technique. Though my work might shake your foundations."

"I... I think I've got it covered." she stammered, she was surprised such lame lines were making her feel this way.

"Just a quick screw."

Allison straightened up. "Listen, Bullseye. I don't know what game you're playing, but I'm not interested, okay?" She threw him a warning look, her purple eyes sparkling with annoyance.

Bullseye held up his hands in mock surrender. "Woah, easy there, Nightshade. Just trying to lend a hand. No need to get sharp." His tone remained light, but a spark of challenge lit his eyes.

Allison sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Look, I appreciate the offer, but I can manage just fine on my own."

A commotion erupted nearby, drawing their attention. A man with red and black armour and a horned helmet was rampaged through the construction site, tossing workers aside like rag dolls.

"Looks like some horn-dog needs to be put down," Bullseye quipped, a grin spreading across his face. "Let's show him what we're made of, Nightshade."

Without waiting for a response, Bullseye notched an arrow and fired. The arrow sailed through the air, its kinetic energy enhanced by Bullseye's powers. It struck the villain's helmet. The impact sent the villain stumbling back, a dent visible in his headgear.

The villain was Crimson Crown, a small time villain that thought himself the reincarnation of Odin. As Crimson Crown recovered from Bullseye's attack he turned his attention to the archer. He charged forward, his steps shaking the ground.

Bullseye quickly nocked another arrow, but before he could release, Crimson Crown unleashed a torrent of sharp, spinning blades from his armour. The blades whirled towards them like deadly buzz saws, forcing Bullseye to dive for cover.

"Look out!" Allison cried, raising a telekinetic shield to deflect the blades. The sharp projectiles ricocheted off her barrier, sending sparks flying.

Seizing the moment, Bullseye rolled to his feet and loosed another arrow. This one punched through Crimson Crown's shoulder, sending him stumbling.

Enraged, the villain roared and launched another barrage of blades.

Bullseye and Allison dove in opposite directions, taking cover behind stacks of construction materials. The blades lodging into the construction material.

Bullseye and Allison had to take down Crimson Crown before any more civilians were harmed. The villain, visibly weakened by Bullseye's arrow, staggered forward, his blades whirring and slicing through the air.

"Now, Nightshade!" Bullseye shouted after hitting the villain with a smoke arrow, temporarily blinding him.

Allison unleashed a barrage of telekinetic blasts, striking Crimson Crown from multiple angles. The force of the impacts staggered him, but he remained standing, his armour absorbing much of the blow.

Bullseye emerged from cover, firing another arrow. This one struck true, hitting Crimson Crown in the chest. The villain roared in rage, the sound echoing across the construction site.

Allison took advantage of the distraction, using her powers to lift a stack of timber and hurl it at the villain. The wooden beams crashed into him, sending him toppling to the ground.

Crimson Crown lay motionless, the defeated villain's silent in unconsciousness.

Bullseye lowered his bow, a triumphant smile spreading across his face. "That's how it's done, Nightshade. Textbook takedown."

Nightshade approached, her heart pounding with adrenaline. "Thanks to your help, Bullseye. You certainly know how to fight."

Bullseye's smile widened, his piercing blue eyes locking with her purple gaze. "Happy to lend a hand. Or an arrow, in this case. I have a knack for getting people out of tight spots."

Allison's pulse quickened at his flirtatious tone, but she maintained her composure. "Well, I appreciate the assistance. We make a surprisingly good team."

The sound of approaching sirens drew their attention. Police vehicles and an ambulance were on their way.

Bullseye's expression turned mischievous. "Come on, Nightshade. Let's tie this guy up and get out of here."

Nightshade nodded, her enthusiasm for the battle still lingering. "Right. We should head back to the Fortress anyway. They will probably want to know what happened."

As the pair started back to the Fortress, Bullseye flashed Allison a cheeky grin. "You know, Nightshade, you're pretty handy with those powers of yours. It's too bad they don't teach you how to use them for something more... fun."

Allison raised an eyebrow, intrigued despite herself, maybe it was the adrenaline running through her veins. "Oh? And what did you have in mind, Bullseye?"

Bullseye pulled Allison into a nearby alleyway. This time there would be no interruption.

Bullseye pulled Allison close, his lips crashing down on hers. She resisted, but only for a moment. The kiss was fierce and passionate, their mouths hungry for each other. Allison found hands roamed over Bullseye's muscular frame, feeling the power in his body.

Bullseye's hands wandered, his skilled touch setting her body alight. He cupped her breasts, his thumbs teasing her hardened nipples through the fabric of her suit. Allison moaned into his mouth, her body responding to his touch.

Bullseye whispered against her lips, his breath hot on her skin. "Let me show you what I meant, Nightshade."

Allison's breath quickened as Bullseye's hands slid down her body, tracing the curves of her waist and hips. He manipulated her body, using his kinetic energy to enhance the sensitivity of her nerve endings. Allison gasped as pleasure coursed through her, her body thrumming with desire.

"Oh, god..." she breathed, her legs shaking as he teased and tormented her with his powers. "What are you doing to me?"

"Just showing you a different kind of power, Nightshade. Something a little more... pleasurable."

Allison's eyes widened as she felt his energy intertwine with hers, heightening her senses and intensifying her arousal. Her body betrayed her, responding eagerly to his touch as he kneaded and stroked her flesh.

"You like that, don't you?" Bullseye murmured, his lips trailing down her neck. "You want more."

Allison nodded, her breath coming in short gasps. "Yes..."

Bullseye's hands slid lower, his fingers slipping beneath the waistband of her suit. He teased the sensitive skin of her thighs, his touch feather-light and tantalising. "Tell me what you want, Nightshade."

"Please..." Allison's voice was a hoarse whisper, her body on fire with need. "Touch me."

"Maybe next time." Bullseye pulled back and walked away.

"What? Where are you going?" Allison complained, she was all worked up now, Bullseye's touch still tingling on her body.

"Oh gorgeous, taking you right after battle would be too easy. When you're ready to really explore your powers, come find me."
