Emily's POV
I typed furiously, trying to complete the work I came to meet on my table. After a wonderful date night, I was beginning to think that maybe Reily was right, maybe Alexander did like me just a little bit.
He was still an asshole as far as I am concerned but after the date night, I began to see him in a different light. Maybe he was not as bad as I always thought him to be. A night alone with him on Halloween, under the moonlight, painted a different narrative of him in my head. I came to work, bubbling in excitement until I met a large amount of paperwork on my table, waiting to be worked on.
When I tried to see him, he avoided me, faking a phone call, leaving for an emergency meeting and even asking Collins to attend to me instead.
Whatever narrative my head painted of him wiped off in an instant.
I was furious.
