Her father was a special government agent and had many enemies. One of these enemies kidnapped his three day old daughter and gave her to mad scientists to conduct experiments.
They planted a virus chip in the blood stream close to heart. They were planning to replace her heart with the chip so it would make her a weapon for rebels against the government of Xinxin Country.
For one month, they monitored her waiting for the slightest change but it was as though the virus chip was asleep.
Before they could find out anymore, they were apprehended by special agents.
Little Jenny White was taken to a special sanatorium where she was monitored. It was only after five years she was released and could go home.
Her father later passed away from heart cancer less than a year after her return, her mother became psychologically traumatized and spent the days seated in her room going through albums of Mr White.
Jenny had to take care of her three year old brother and mother. Things went on normally for a while till she got electrocuted while trying to use the electric iron. The dormant virus chip suddenly woke up, it fed on her blood 10 millimetres per hour and she could only suppress it by eating hefty or electrocution. She could do things others her age couldn't do: draft business proposals, fight, programming, name it. But it had a downside, she lost all human emotions except pain.
Now she's having this gut feeling that this virus chip would likely shorten her lifespan but she still had a lot to do. Her mother wasn't healed, her brother wasn't responsible yet and their family was still surviving on their father's pension and her salary, she had always wanted to travel to different places.
She opened her laptop and looked at her bank balance.
50.8 million dollars.
This money seemed little to her because it could only help their family for a maximum of 10 years with the rate of Lucas spending power. She need at least trillions so even if she couldn't make it, she could leave knowing that her family would be okay.
She received a message from an international number.
Master: Good disciple, Have you thought about my offer? Why don't I acknowledge you as my goddaughter? Have you talked to your mother about it?
Jenny White: Not yet. Let's talk about it later.
Jenny White dropped her phone and deeply inhaled. She was planning to get some sleep before her shift at the restaurant, when her phone rang.
She sighed. This siesta wasn't meant for her today.
She looked at the phone and answered it.
' Hello Principal. How may I help you?' Jenny White says.
' Could you come to school quickly?' The Principal says.
' Okay.' Jenny White says and hangs up. On the other end, the principal looked at the disconnected call helplessly. Normal teenagers would ask why they had been called.
Jenny White arrived about an hour later and saw all the teachers seated at the conference and there were about three new faces she recognised one of them as the male examiner from that morning.
' Jenny White, you are here. These people are from the MinJin Capital University. They want to interview you after seeing your exam sheet.' The Principal says.
' Miss White, I'm President Ford. I am the head of MinJin Capital University.' One man says.
' Nice to meet you. I am Jenny White.' Jenny White replies.
The teachers of HFH were speechless. They were introducing the president of MinJin Capital University not a newcomer of HFH.
' Do you mind taking an exam right now? If not, we can reschedule. We don't mind waiting.' President Ford says.
' Sure but I have to leave at 4.30. I don't want to be late for my shift.' Jenny White says.
5 minutes later,
Jenny White was seated solving questions under the scrutiny of about 20 adults.
' Dad, I mean President Ford, is she even reading the questions?' Michael Ford couldn't help but ask. She would take a glance and then start writing. Her hand moved as though someone pressed the fast forward on it. It was a miracle how her handwriting was still beautiful.
An hour and 50 minutes later,
Jenny solved the last question and handed the paper to President Ford.
It took him 40 minutes to go through her answers and he was surprised.
The MinJin Capital University scholarship entrance exam had 10 subjects: Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer science, Accounting, Economics, History and Literature.
They only picked the top 15 scores and granted them entrance to the University.
People who scored above 800 out of 1000 could be taken straight to sophomore year. Which was why Jenny White was unusual. She had answered Maths, English, Physics, Accounting, Literature and Economics. And she had a total of 600 marks meaning each subject was answered correctly and now she answered the ten subjects with full marks in just 2 hours!!
' Would you like to attend MinJin Capital University??' President Ford asked.
' I have a few conditions.' Jenny White stated.
The others were stunned. Wasn't she meant to be grateful and happy? What conditions?
' Okay go on.' President Ford says.
' I want to go to the third year. If I fail to keep up, you can revoke my entrance or do as you see fit.
And I have to be a part time student.' Jenny White says.
The three men from the Capital University withdrew to discuss the condition.
' We accept. Welcome to MinJin Capital University.' President Ford says.
' I'm the Vice President of MinJin Capital University. Welcome to our school.' The second man says.
Jenny White nods her head.
' I am Michael Ford. You can me Big Brother Michael. We'll be classmates, you have to teach me everything you know.' Michael Ford says.
President Ford covered his face. This son of his could at least save himself some dignity.
' Thank you. I need to hurry. Goodbye.' Jenny White says as she hurried away.
' Why is she in a hurry?' Michael Ford ask.
' She has a shift in a restaurant at 4.30.' The Principal explains.
Michael Ford suddenly felt extremely stupid. He wasn't working or doing chores yet he was far behind this 16 year old girl that was working and still doing chores. Forget it. He'll only harm himself by comparing.

Later that night,
Jenny White returned from her shift at the restaurant. It wasn't high paying but it helped her solve her need for food each time the virus stung. Employees had an "all you can eat" benefit provided they are it within the restaurant.
If it wasn't for the fact that Jenny White was versatile and efficient, her eating habit alone could get her fired.
She entered and saw her brother waiting for her with a bowl of noodles.
' Sister you are back.' Lucas called out.
' Mm. How are you?' Jenny White asked as hung her bag.
Lucas eyes stung him. His sister was not mentioning what happened so he wouldn't feel embarrassed.
' Sister about today, I'm very sorry. I overreacted, but studying is the only thing I can do to help around here and I try to put in a lot of effort. It was very infuriating to literary watch my hardwork go down the drain. But it won't happen again. I won't pick fights randomly anymore.' Lucas says solemnly.
Jenny sighed and sat down patting the space next to her. Lucas sat next to her silently.
' I'm not teaching you to swallow your grievances. It's just that brute force is not the way to go. If you hadn't hit him today, we could have gotten CCTV footage and went straight to the police. There are some people that we can't go against because we are currently weak. You need to wait till we are strong enough to face problems without fear but till then, let's try not to get into trouble.' Jenny White explained slowly as reached out to smoothen his tangled hair.
Lucas suddenly hugged her and started sobbing.
' But I made you leave your exam. Now who knows when next the chance will come?' Lucas says.
' Who says I lost the chance? I scored full marks in the ones I did and they even offered me a chance to study part-time and go straight to the third year.' Jenny White says.
' That's great. You don't have to leave us and you can still go and even finish early!!!' Lucas White says happily.
Jenny White could feel the warmth creep up her heart. This was the warm feeling she got each time her brother smiled happily. Not even the virus sting could affect it.
' Sister I made you noodles.' Lucas says as he opened the bowl.
Jenny White was speechless.
The noodles looked mashed as though they had been soaked for three days. The oddly shaped carrot and tomato slices were looking dark and wilted and the egg yolk looked undercooked.
She took her chopsticks and took a bite of the noodles. Her expression remained passive but if her tongue could speak, it would have yelled for someone to call 119.
Who puts sugar in noodles? Was this raw carrot? It was as though there was a battle between salt and sugar in the plate.
Just when she was almost done,
' Looking at you eat has made me crave the noodles. There's still some left, I'll go get it.' Lucas says.
' No! I like the noodles, I'll eat it all. There are some dumplings in the fridge, heat them and eat that.' Jenny White says as she stands up to get the remaining noodles.
Lucas looked at the bowl, How different could this noodles be? Was the noodles that delicious? Well let him just have a taste.
Lucas picked up the chopsticks and put it in his mouth.
He felt like throwing up. What rubbish!! Was this not poisonous? He gulped down water trying to forget that traumatizing.
When Jenny White returned, she saw him emptying glass after glass of water.
' You ate it didn't you?' Jenny White says.
Lucas silently packed up the noodles and emptied it in the trash.
' Sister from now on handle the dishes.' Lucas says.
Jenny White smiled and pulled him in to eat.
In the opposite room,
' Husband return from your trip quickly okay? Remember you promised me a pearl bracelet. Have you eaten this evening?' Mrs White sat on the bed caressing a photo.
Mrs White loved her husband more than anything and soon became delusional after his death. She was sinking in her world of delusion oblivious to the struggles her children had to go through.
