Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Magic Clan

Around forty thousand years ago, there was a huge tribe called Magic Clan which could call rain and clouds with a huge influence in a world called 'Dien'. They were a very powerful tribe and also the most feared hegemon in the world.

Because they possessed a power which had no opponents in Dien. Due to that there were a lot of strong enemies always targeting them in the dark. One of those years they conspired together with someone from another realm and completely wiped out the tribe.

Only and handful of them were able to escape from their three deadly enemies Zi clan, Poison valley and Wolf Blade sect. The names of the sects were written in bitter red color which showed the hatred they have.

The Magic Clan was even feared and coveted of their skill from other realms. Their core skill is they can curse spells even if the enemy is far away once they meet certain conditions. No matter how much the enemies searched for some solution to these curses, nothing proved useful.

There were few spies who were successful in stealing some information regarding the practice. But no matter who tried the skill after practicing it, they were dead immediately as a side effect though they achieved their purpose.

The enemies figured that without the core inheritance, the skill itself would not be much effective. In turn they would then be treated as enemies by other forces. The gains were not really worth the losses. Hence they had to conspire together to exterminate every single one of them.

Many key battles and influence were also mentioned in this information. Finally everything was for naught as the Magic Clan never left behind any of their inheritance or skill. Any traitors who wanted to open up about key information were also wiped out through some means.

Surviving such fatal disaster, the few who escaped were chased and tracked down for many decades. Eventually, they have settled in a lower realm in a remote region.

Digesting the information in this jade, Ming Shin discovered such a horrible skill and power existed under the heavens. No wonder they had enemies even from other realms and were called as 'The Cursed Clan'.

'But, I have never seen any of the people so far exhibiting such skill. It might be limited to only a few core people'. Now he understood those three long strips of paper. They are a type of talisman which are inscribed with the Magic Clan's spells.

Creating these talismans needs a lot of effort and vitality of the person. Why would she go so far as to give me something so precious and let me in on such a dangerous secret. 'Something is fishy' he stayed vigilant,

Cautiously he scanned the second jade. It contained the practice of magic clan's skills to curse an enemy with certain conditions. It also contained the core skill 'Soul Check' which is the most feared by their enemies. It is clearly mentioned that it is a deadly skill and outsiders cannot practice it as it requires huge spiritual strength.

The Magic Clan inherently possessed longer lives than ordinary humans which led them to develop such a skill over hundreds of thousands of years. This skills require the caster to lose some vitality in order to curse the enemies to death which is physical while 'Soul check' requires to lose spiritual strength.

The Soul Check is famously known as Soul Curse and the one eligible to practice that skill usually becomes the Patriarch of the Clan. There have been only four Patriarchs who were successfully able to cultivate this skill for hundreds of thousands of years.

Since this inheritance was so fatal, it was completely left to Ming Shin's choice whether to practice them. After all he is an outsider and has no huge vitality as them. But in times of hopelessness or unfathomable enemies, such a deadly skill can come in handy.

'It's never faulty to learn anything' was one of the first lessons he was drilled as a child. At the end of the jade, it was mentioned that these skills might impact their tribe to be tracked down by the enemies. so, he had to tread with caution, should he ever need to use these magic skills.

After reading these jades, he took some time to organize his mind. Taking a deep breath, he walked to the rack where few jades were placed. One of the jades contained the literature of Magic clan. Through this, he can now completely grasp this new script.

Lucky that he had Void Soul to comprehend such complicated script and transcribing them on talismans as a curse is a completely different skill. The other jades contained similar skills but which are mostly practiced by an average genius in the clan.

Looking back at his journey after leaving the village, it is nothing short of a miracle with all the things he had faced. So it is why she said four years. Comprehending these skills while raising my cultivation to a strong Qi Condensation, I need more time.

Also, she could easily see through that I have an unstable foundation due to my continuous breakthroughs over the past few months. 'Then after four years, I shall begin my journey again' he was determined.

After destroying the two jades, he came down back to the third floor. It was already late in the evening and Li Sha seems to have left. Only the old lady faintly looked at him meaningfully. He quickly thanked the senior again and asked his leave.

"Don't overthink, we do not expect anything from you. You best be cautious before deciding to practice the skills" a voice was faintly heard when he was returning back to his quarters.

There was Li Kui standing to his far left and overlooking him. Ming Shin was silent for a while before solemnly replying "Yes senior. I will not let any harm befall your tribe due to me".

"Though it won't be easy for anyone to cause us much harm" she looked ahead with faint madness in her eyes. For an instant he observed that Li Kui's eyes seemed to shine with a red pupil and change back to black color.

She nodded towards him and quickly faded into the dark. 'Does she like surprising people so much? Always appears out of the blue. She and this tribe are truly dangerous' he thought.

It has two weeks now and a new team of hundred members was organized to explore the mysterious hole. "Brother Hai, do you want to join the campaign again to explore with the elder in charge?" Bi Jun asked.

"No, this time I will not be joining the fun" the latter replied. He knew that Bi Jun wanted to join the campaign as he might still be hoping to find Jin Hao or any clues regarding it. But, he had more important things at hand now.

Also the whole idea of joining the scout team and going on the previous mission was to explore any possibilities to leave this place. Now that he knew the history and also the four year limit, he must concentrate severely on growing stronger and comprehending new skills.

Few days later, the team retuned back with no fruit. The cave seems to have some kind of restriction and cannot be entered at will. When this was reported back to Li Kui, she scrunched her eyebrows.

Breaking the ban might not be a big deal for her using her might, but it would create a huge disturbance which might alert the monster beasts. Their activity will also be monitored by Henji city scouts and some unknown variables. It is too risky for her to move.

Hence it was decided that the area would be off limits and it should be secured tightly. The ban will be slowly cracked by some formation experts. It doesn't matter much time, as it is not of utmost import6ance now.

She needs to select a strong and intelligent team after four years and let them integrate within the town and various sects. They need to keep on extending their influence in an incognito mode.

It has been a month now and Henji town seems to be excited to conduct it's five year assessment and the talented youth shall be recruited by the top sects in the surrounding cities. All the three major clans and the mayor's castle have been working seriously to handle the upcoming event.

On this day, a huge monster bird seems to be flying over the sky. Behind it, there are many similar ones flying over Henji town. Vaguely you can see some figures standing proudly on their back. The clan lords seem to have arrived early to welcome their visit.
