The world of heroes, Is a place dominated by superpowered individuals.
With eighty percent of the human population having some special ability, it has become commonplace to see fights, That look like they came straight out of a comic book page.
However even with this sudden shift in day-to-day life, Humanity slowly but surely adjusted to these strange new powers.
Everyone except One boob-loving boy.
POV: Issei Hyoudou
It's been a few hours since that climactic fight on the street. The crowd of people from before began walking in the direction they were heading previously. Going about their day with the urgency that came with morning rush hour.
Unfortunately, The businessman was content in his own little world. I thought he was never going to stop talking. Thankfully at one point in his mindless rant, He looked down at his watch.
Then in the next moment, he suddenly started running in the direction I assumed his workplace was located.
Poor guy, He looked like he was gonna piss himself when he saw the time.
With the fight over and my only source of directions gone, I started walking down a random street.
And I know what you're thinking, Issei you handsome bastard, why are you going down this road instead of asking directions from somebody else?
Well if I must answer that question I would say, It is because I hadn't thought of that.
Cut me some slack I was still a little shocked by the fight. Anyways, that's not important, What is important is the fact I found myself a working computer.
You see after walking for a little while, I managed to stumble upon an internet cafe. Checking my pockets got me a measly seven hundred yen and some spare change.
Thankfully that was just enough for me to stay in the cafe for one hour.
"Ok first things first, I need to find out where I am exactly"
Now sitting in a small capsule room, My immediate focus was on finding where I was and getting back home.
With a quick search, I discovered I was in a city known as Musutafu.
Never heard of it.
And that's a problem, I may not have memorized the names of every city, but I at least knew the ones that surround Kuoh. And Musutafu wasn't ringing any bells.
Deciding to look past that little tidbit of information for now, I kept typing.
"Ok now that I know where I am, Where the hell is Kuoh"
Typing in my address I clicked enter.
When the computer finally loaded, I was greeted with a white screen. Displayed on the screen were ten words.
"Your search- Kuoh Town- did not match any new results "
"Huh"
Retyping my address into the search bar gave the same results. And so did the third, Fourth, and fifth attempts.
"This can't be right, Kuoh has at least a hundred thousand people living there".
Any place with that many people is at least documented and displayed on a map, Hell there wasn't even a Wikipedia article to be found, And Wikipedia has an article about damn near everything.
Feeling frustrated with my lack of results, I sank back into the chair and stared at the ceiling.
Thankfully the cafe was basically empty so no one was around to hear me talk to myself.
The only other person In there was the lady behind the front desk. But she was more focused on her TV screen, than anything I had going on. So I just left her alone.
I had rented this capsule room in a hurry, so I hadn't had the chance to take a good look around. Not that there was anything to look at, The capsule was surrounded by three wooden walls, With a sliding door to my right.
I was sitting on what looked like an old leather office chair, The thing was uncomfortable, But it did its job so I couldn't really complain.
The only eye-catching thing here was the poster behind the computer.
Even in the dim lighting, I could easily make out almost every detail. It was a bright yellow, With the bottom of the poster holding three words in huge font.
"I AM HERE".
If I had to guess this was probably one of those motivational workout posters. And considering there was an image of what looked like the biggest bodybuilder I've ever seen, I probably wasn't too far off.
In the center of the poster was an Extremely well-built man posing. He had blonde hair that was slicked back, With two bangs that shot straight upwards, He sported a huge white smile, That seemed to highlight his sky-blue eyes. The man wore a Red, white, and blue costume. It looked like the American flag had thrown up on him.
"That guy's definitely on steroids, No way he's got that big naturally "
I absentmindedly spoke my thoughts aloud. Just as I was about to get back to typing in my address, I caught a glimpse of some text in the bottom right-hand corner.
"All Might, The number one hero"
Wait a minute. Didn't that businessman say something about All Might? Looking at the clock, I saw I had about forty minutes left before I had to leave.
"Getting a little sidetracked couldn't hurt "
I typed in this guy's name half expecting, I would be greeted by the same white screen. Instead, I felt my eyes grow wide as over a million links, All with the title All Might quickly appeared.
"Holy shit, This guy's famous ".I voice out my shock as I click on the first link.
Clicking on it led me to a site called Hero Tube. That name was definitely gonna cause some copyright issues in the future.
I sat up when I noticed the video starting, At first the screen was blurry, Making it difficult to make out anything that was happening.
As if on command the person holding the camera suddenly stopped, And looked in the direction of a flipped-over bus.
With the camera stable, I could now easily see, ruined buildings and debris scattered around. The video also picked up the tell-tell signs of a fire in the distance.
However, despite the apocalyptic scene unfolding, My attention was drawn to the sound of laughing. That's right I heard what sounded like full-blown laughter. Just as I was about to close the tab, The cameraman started shouting.
"He's Laughing!"
As if on cue, The man from the poster began to rise from the rubble, He had his hands full carrying four people in his arms, while another six were on his back. He did it all while laughing his heart out and with the biggest smile on his face.
Slamming his foot on the bus the man stopped laughing and began to speak.
"It's fine now. Why?" His smile widened as he spoke.
"Because I am here"
The screen then faded back as the video ended.
"That....was...AMAZING!!"
I hadn't meant to shout that last part aloud, But who wouldn't? I saw some action movies when I was a kid, And I could honestly say that this one easily tops all of them.
"I think I'm starting to understand all the hype around this All Might guy". Doing some research, I found out his superpower is something called a quirk. The name is a bit bland if you ask me, But it's his power, so who am I to judge what he calls it?
Surprisingly there was a lot of research on the guy, The movie must be pretty popular if this many people are interested in it. With a few quick searches, I managed to paint a decent picture of Who All Might is.
Apparently, he began his pro-hero debut forty years ago in America. Along side a guy named David Shield. Spending a few years there, His reputation as a Hero among heroes quickly began to spread. Coming back to Japan after he turned 23, He has spent the remainder of his pro-hero career trying to make the world a safer place.
Even managing to drop the crime rates below six percent year after year.
"I get why they call him the world's number-one hero "
The man was superhuman. He runs faster, punches harder, and saves twice the number of lives a normal pro hero could. The only notable hero after him was the number two hero. A fellow pro going by the name Endeavor, But going by the few tweets I've read about him he isn't exactly Mister Popular.
"Well that was fun, But I gotta get back to finding a way to get home "
With that little mental cooldown over with, I stretch in the chair a bit before starting my search over again. At least that was the plan before I was interrupted by a knock on the door.
Sliding it open I was greeted by the older women from the front desk. But instead of her eyes being firmly glued onto her TV screen, She was now silently glaring into mine. Glancing back at the clock I noticed that not only had an hour passed, But I also stayed in here for an extra twenty minutes.
Slowing turning to face the now irate cafe owner I tried to come up with a reasonable excuse. Maybe I could try to appeal to her emotions by telling her my situation, Not only would she feel sorry for me, She might even lend me her phone if I'm lucky.
Pov: Outside the Internet cafe
The people of Musutafu walk along the streets, As the calming afternoon sun shines brightly above. It seemed that it would be just a normal outing for the people of this fine city.
Until the doors of a nearby Internet cafe swung open, Closely followed by a brown-haired boy being unceremoniously tossed onto the street.
"Get the hell out of my cafe you lousy brat, Do you think I'm running a charity case here "
Looking inside the cafe the onlookers spotted an old lady shouting at the boy, Before quickly slamming the doors shut.
The people halted in their steps to stare at the boy. Some even considered helping him, Before they quickly realized they couldn't care less. And with that, They continued walking leaving the poor boy to his own devices.
Pov: Issei Hyoudou
"Wow for a lady getting up there in age, She sure can toss people around like they're nothing "
I muttered to myself, half of my face still firmly resting on the concrete. I didn't bother getting up. The Internet cafe was my only hope of finding a way home, I spent all the money I had just to rent an hour there. So to sum up my situation I have no money, No phone, And no way of getting home, The best thing I could do for myself now is to just lie on the ground and wait to die.
"Excuse me, sir, Are you alright "
Turning my head to face the noise, I was greeted by the site of Bright red shoes. Looking up to see the owner of said shoes, Caused me to look up at a green hair boy.
The boy had his hair styled in messy green spikes, That seemed to just sprout from his head. lowering my gaze to his eyes I caught several emotions swirling behind his green orbs, Sadness, fear, pity, and a few others I couldn't name. Moving on, my eyes zeroed in on the boy's freckled laced cheeks.
"Don't think I've ever met a person with freckles before".I inwardly thought as I moved on to the boy's outfit.
He wore a plain all-black school uniform, On his back, he carried a bright yellow backpack, Which contrasted heavily with the rest of his outfit.
The boy was clearly becoming uncomfortable with the silence, So I decided to finally answer him.
"No"
I said I was going to answer, I never said I was going to say a full sentence. The boy who I still don't know the name of, looked at me in both shock and confusion.
"Uh...ok then, Is there anything I can do to help"
I could see the boy was trying hard to keep the conversation going, And considering he was the only person who decided to check up on me, The least I could do was be nice. I let out a sigh and stood up to face him properly.
"You know what, There is a way you could help me "
"Really!" He seemed to light up at the news.
"First let's start off with our names, I can't keep calling you green-haired boy all the time " As if just realizing his mistake, The boy's face began to heat up before he started bowing.
"Oh my god I totally forgot, My name is Izuku Midoriya it's a pleasure to meet you " He began shouting his name aloud while repeatedly bowing in my direction.
I placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him, partly because I felt bad, But mainly because the people around us were giving weird stares.
"Dude it's alright, I'm not the type to get on your case over it. My name is Issei Hyoudou " Shaking him, Seemed to wake him up from his bowing-induced frenzy.
Seeing as he was a little out of it, I volunteered myself to keep the conversation rolling.
"So Midoriya, I've been meaning to ask. Do you know how I can get to Kuoh Town "
Izuku who was now listening to me, Stopped and started to think. I could almost see the gears churning in his mind. Before slumping his shoulders and facing me
"I'm sorry but I've never heard of a town with that name "
Authors note:
Sorry the chapter took so long to write, I have been writing and rewriting this chapter so I could realistically introduce Izuku into the story. And what I came up with, was him just going up to Issei and asking if he was alright. I like to believe that even this early on in his story, Izuku would go out of his way to check on a person lying on the ground
Also, some of you are probably wondering why Issei hasn't caught on to the fact he is in a society filled with superpowers. The fact is, Issei has lived a normal life up until this point, So even if he sees someone with a mutation quirk walking the street, He would probably chalk it up to them cosplaying, or adding weird cosmetics to themselves.
Anyway, my brain hurts from writing so much so I'm heading to bed, Good night.
