"Damn it! You have Appraisal too. Is there any way I can hide my status so that people don't know what I am?"
"Hmm. You could go to the Adventurers Guild and get the concealment skill. It's a universal skill, so it doesn't matter what job title you have. You can install it and hide your status from anyone. If they don't have a higher level in their Appraisal, then your concealment will work."
"Thanks to Willow's help, I should purchase that skill at the Guild when I have enough skill points."
"So, Mr. Eli, what enchantments do you want on those gloves?"
"Can I get my pair of fingerless gloves an impact-neutralizing enchantment on them?"
"I can do that, but wouldn't you want a better enchantment? How about an enchantment that'll absorb all kinetic energy, then you can release it back at your enemies. Wouldn't that be better?"
Whack!
Willow was then hit with the handle part of a broom on the back of her head, almost knocking her down. Rubbing the top of her head, a little witch came behind her, revealing the culprit that struck her. She was 140cm tall, had black hair, purple eyes, and was flat-chested.
"Master, I told you many times not to try to sell your strange enchantments. We can't survive another lawsuit from survivors of your crazy magical tools."
"Tabitha, it's not my fault those idiots can't use my magical tools. They just don't understand my genius! And they didn't know how to properly use those experimental magic tools, so it's not my fault."
"Master, we have an 80% mortality rate with all the experimental enchantments you make. This means we only sell products to other stores with written contracts stating that you'll create an enchantment or magical tool that does what it's meant to do, and nothing more."
"Poo. You're such a meanie for an apprentice."
Willow then started rolling both her index fingers together like she was a child.
Tabatha then grabbed her teacher and shoved her to the side, taking the front of the stall.
"Sir, we can install a shock absorption enchantment on your gloves for 100 gems. Is there anything else you need, sir?"
Eli, after seeing everything that happened in front of him between these two witches arguing about how dangerous their enchantments are, was starting to sweat bullets and had second thoughts about coming to this shop with these two. Biting the bullet, he asked for the extra enchantments that he needed.
He unclipped the Container pouch from the back of his belt and handed it to Tabitha.
"Can you put an Expansion charm on this pouch and also make it automatically collect these empty cartridges?"
He asked, showing her an empty .22 cartridge from his KELTEC CP33.
"Sure, I can do that right away."
Tabitha replied.
Willow then tried to grab the pouch from the stall, prompting Tabatha to hit her with the broom.
"Tabitha, why are you so mean? Let your master work her magic."
Willow scolded.
Tabitha turned around slowly and retorted.
"If I let you have your way, we would end up on the streets like beggars because of all the trouble you would cause."
Willow then looked away from Tabatha and gave her a raspberry.
"Sorry about that. We can add an extension enchantment to the pouch to collect those cartridges, but usually, people want a gathering function to collect their treasures when we extend a pouch's capacity."
"And please don't attempt to put multiple enchantments on an item or put an expanded item inside another expanded item. They tend to explode or implode, putting the user at risk."
Tabitha cautioned.
"We can put multiple enchantments into the pouch, but that would sacrifice the size of the expansion. On the other hand, we can put the gathering enchantment into the pouch and extend it to its maximum capacity. And you can just get another pouch, then we can install the auto collect on those cartridges for you with an expansion as well."
Eli quickly went into the system shop and bought a smaller attachable pouch for 5 MSP. He reached for the back of his belt, pretending that he had the other pouch on him, and then gave it to Tabitha.
"Each pouch will cost you 1000 gems with the enchantments. Putting everything together, your total amount will be 2100 gems. Can you give me that cartridge so we can make the smaller pouch collect anything that identifies as a cartridge?"
He then handed her the empty cartridge and 2 gold coins with 5 silver coins.
"Thank you for your purchase, dear customer. Your order will be ready within an hour. You can wait inside the shop or come back to pick up your items."
Tabitha took the empty cartridge and coins. She walked towards her teacher, grabbed the back of her dress, and pulled her to their workshop while Willow was crying and screaming.
"Oh Goddess Hecate, why did I do to deserve this violent and over-controlling student?"
Tabitha stopped and barked at Willow.
"Don't blame the Goddess; this is all on you, teacher because your crazy experimental tools are always broken. And why am I stuck as the adult in this teacher-student relation?"
Eli decided to wait for an hour. Maybe these two crazy witches would give him more entertainment.
After waiting over half an hour, Tabatha and her teacher, Willow finally came out of their workshop earlier than they said they would.
Tabatha came to the front desk Holding all the equipment in her hands.
"Sir, we finished sooner than we expected. Please can you inspect the items for us."
Eli used the Identify skilled on the equipment.
+Fingerless gloves (White grade item)- Shock-absorbing enchantment
+Regular size attachable leather pouch (Silver grade item)- Pinpoint gathering, selective extractor, Stasis, featherweight and size expansion enchantment of 4,000 square meters.
+Small size attachable nylon pouch (Silver grade item)- Collect all cartridges, Selective extractor, Stasis, featherweight and size expansion enchantment of 2,000 square meters.
"Everything looks to be in order."
Tabitha then pulled out ink and quill with a logbook.
"Sir, can you please sign our logbook for proof of purchase and verification that we'll not be responsible for any incident that happens with the selected magic items."
Eli took the quill and signed his name on it. "You guys are very thorough about this aren't you?"
"Sadly, Sir, I've had a lot of practice doing this. Because of a certain teacher that I have who hasn't learned her lesson in creating unstable magical items."
Tabitha turned around, grinding her teeth and glaring at her teacher.
"EEP!"
While Willow was hiding in a fetal position in the corner scared of Tabitha.
"Thank you, dear customer, for your purchase. We hope to see you again."
After finishing signing, Eli transferred all his leftover bullets to the smaller pouch, leaving his regular-size leather pouch and everything else. He soon left "Willow's magical marvels" before closing the door, he heard a few shouts coming from Tabitha.
"You stupid teacher! I told you wed be finished in less than an hour. If we just kept to the regular enchantments and no weird experimental woo has!"
"Nooo. Goddess Hecate, safe from this devil child."
"As I said, stop bringing the goddess into this. You stupid-"
Eli left before he was implicated into anything that happened inside that magic shop.
'That'll be fine right.'
[Host please do not ask stupid questions to stupid answers]
'Wait system you're there, the whole time.'
[Regrettably Host I am part of you. I view everything around you.]
'That's great, you can held me in my missions. This will make my work easier'
[Sorry to burst your bubble Host. But the Goddess Gia does not allow me to help you in that way]
[She only allows me to purchase and sell items to Host]
[But I can give you a Quest]
[Secret Quest: Buy a building and obtain a basic business operation license]
[Reward: Super rare Gold-tier item Evolving Chemistry table and Equipment]
"Ah, Yeah, that's going to be helpful."
Eli exclaimed as he arrived at the Merchant's Guild, just a block from the Adventure Guild. Entering, he noted the Merchant's Guild was nearly as large as the Adventure Guild, its main distinction being the clerks working tirelessly.
Approaching the nearest clerk for assistance, he inquired politely.
"Excuse me, could you assist me?"
A tall blonde woman looked up.
"Of course, how can I be of service, sir?"
"I'm curious about which materials or items your guild might be short on."
She considered his question thoughtfully.
"Sir, may I take a moment to consult our ledger and ascertain our needs?"
After perusing the lengthy ledger, she turned back to Eli.
"Sir, we typically run low on magic stones, potions, herbs, food supplies, and precious metals."
Eli browsed the system store for potions, herbs, food supplies, and rare metals. Starting with potions, he noticed an abundance of gold and silver ingots available for purchase, and he had the points to acquire them.
[Normal White-tier item: Fine Silver ingot, 1 pound]: 50 MSP
[Rare Silver-tier item: 22k Gold ingot, 1 pound]: 100 MSP
"Here, how much can you offer me for these?"
The clerk, suspecting Eli was just another scammer peddling counterfeit gold and silver, rolled her eyes. However, her skepticism vanished when her Appraisal Skill confirmed the ingots' authenticity.
"Apologies, Sir. I need to consult my manager about these items; I cannot authorize their purchase myself."
She hurried off to find her manager, leaving the ingots in Eli's care. Shortly after, she returned with the manager in tow.
"Greetings, my name is Leon, one of the Merchant's Guild managers. We regret the earlier confusion and are prepared to purchase your ingots, sir."
He realized that 1 pound of 22K gold would yield 250,000 Gems, and 1 pound of silver, 45,000 Gems.
Subsequently, he presented 30 bars of gold and 6 bars of silver, which nearly overwhelmed Leon as he inspected them.
"Sir, the Merchant's Guild is willing to offer you 7,770,000 Gems for your ingots. May I assist you with anything else?"
