Chereads / Apocalypse - I, the Strongest Villain! / Chapter 19 - Bad Premonition

Chapter 19 - Bad Premonition

If he couldn't get the food, this trip would be a waste!

But to get the food, he first needed to open the trunk.

Forcing the trunk open would attract zombies, and he would die.

Stel found himself in a deadlock.

"Hehehe..."

Bobby stood by the window on the second floor, watching Stel sit against the car, looking helpless.

The corners of his mouth turned up, and his brows relaxed.

"Serves you right. If you can't open the trunk, you can't get the food."

"When those zombies return, you're done for!"

Bobby watched with keen interest, standing by the window just to see the moment when Stel would be bitten by zombies.

Back when they were retreating.

He looked up at the third floor.

He saw Stel leisurely standing on his balcony, watching them.

Bobby cursed him in his heart, thinking he was an idiot.

Anyway, even if he called for help, Bobby wouldn't save him.

And what happened?

Bobby's entire team was wiped out!

But Stel had a stunning woman by his side.

This made Bobby, who had narrowly escaped death and betrayed his companions, feel jealous.

Jealousy turned into anger.

Due to his anger, Bobby's nerves became frayed, and he ultimately blamed Stel.

He started to hate Stel.

"Die! Die! Die..."

Bobby's face pressed tightly against the glass, cursing Stel continuously.

Meanwhile, Stel was still worried about not finding the key to the trunk.

Then, he suddenly remembered that this kind of car could be opened from inside.

"That's it!"

Remembering this, Stel's face lit up with joy.

It wasn't too late; the zombies were still distracted by the phone's ringtone.

He just needed to sneak into the car quietly.

Then, while the zombies were unaware, he could steal all the supplies.

"..."

Stel first quietly pulled the rear door handle.

But the back door seemed to be jammed by something.

It wouldn't budge.

So Stel turned his attention to the front door.

If the front door didn't work, he would know to circle around to the other side of the car to get in.

But doing so would lose the car as cover.

The likelihood of being exposed to the zombies would increase.

But Lady Luck was on Stel's side.

He approached the front door, placing four fingers on the handle.

With a gentle pull.

"Click!"

The door opened successfully.

Stel's tense heart finally relaxed.

He first pressed his hips onto the seat, keeping an eye on the zombies while slowly sliding into the car.

Only when he was completely inside did he feel at ease.

Stel turned to get into the back seat.

…!

"Hiss—!"

Damn!

As Stel turned, he found a zombie's face right in front of him.

It was breathing foul air and lightly moving its head.

Stel's head was just centimeters away from the zombie.

Oddly, the zombie didn't lean in to bite Stel.

He immediately recognized who this zombie was.

When that group of people was escaping, a woman caused their delay.

And now, the zombie in front of Stel was...

It was that woman.

Stel had glanced at her when she was stripping for the group.

He remembered the butterfly emblem on her clothes.

Even though this zombie was filthy all over, a piece of cloth with the butterfly emblem on the strap under her left arm remained.

So Stel immediately recognized her.

But...

The zombie's head was swaying in front of Stel, but it wasn't trying to bite him.

Why isn't it biting me?

Stel held his breath, puzzled as to why this female zombie wasn't attacking him.

As his gaze moved away from the zombie's face, he noticed her leg was stuck.

Her arm was also caught in the car door.

That's why Stel couldn't open the back door earlier.

The zombie's bones were jammed in the door handle.

"Shit!"

Stel muttered, pulling out his steel knife and slashing at the zombie's neck.

Damn, almost gave me a heart attack!

"Thud! Thud!"

The zombie's head fell onto the back seat.

Immediately, a fountain of putrid blood sprayed all over the car from the severed neck.

Stel quickly covered his nose and mouth.

But some blood still splattered onto him.

"This zombie still managed to scare the crap out of me!"

Stel cursed softly, wiping the zombie blood off his face.

He moved the female zombie's body aside and started searching for the trunk release.

"Click!"

In the darkness, Stel found the trunk release after some fumbling.

The trunk opened, revealing the supplies inside.

And because the car was tilted, all the supplies toppled towards Stel.

Stel's heart raced with excitement.

His smile stretched wide.

So many supplies, enough to last for a while!

"I'm rich, really rich this time!"

"With these supplies, I won't have to go out for at least a month."

As Stel enthusiastically packed the supplies into his bag.

Suddenly, there was a snapping sound outside the car!

Then, the music playing on the phone abruptly stopped!

Oh no!

A sense of dread surged in Stel's heart.

The snapping sound was undoubtedly a zombie stepping on the phone.

That's why the music stopped playing.

Stel had planned to quickly pack the supplies and escape back to the apartment while the zombies were distracted by the music.

But now, burdened with this heavy load, moving would be much harder.

"..."

Stel cautiously peeked out the car window.

The zombies had stopped moving, standing quietly.

But perhaps because they were crowded, the outer zombies began spreading out.

"Not good, if I don't leave soon, the zombies will come back..."

Stel felt a surge of urgency.

After quickly packing the rest of the supplies, he quietly opened the car door and slipped out.

With the car still providing some cover, the zombies didn't notice him.

They didn't attack him.

"Damn, of all times, the phone had to break now!"

Stel estimated the distance from the car to the apartment building.
