Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: A snitcher

The sun hung high in the sky, and the monsters were preoccupied with their daily tasks. After the massive explosion, the workload had increased, leaving little time for rest. The wooden door needed immediate repairs; war was approaching with deadly urgency.

Meanwhile, Eros was standing at the tallest tree, watching like an eagle and eyeing his prey. The absence of Klaus was endearing for him, as he knew he was in safe hands. Klaus was born in the Estomoforest, so nobody dared to harm him.

His eyes looked at the ordinary cave, where nothing was ordinary about it. It was located on the eastern edge of the village, where the first rays of sunlight broke through. This was the place where Sebastian was imprisoned. But how did Eros know this?

This cave was the scourge of magus absorbing their magic through this wall. In other terms, the devil's cave. That majestic demon who lived there originally ruled this land but is now caged in prison. Eros personally encountered that bastard who fed on people's fear. His name was enough to terrorize the earth, Kaal.

Eros had never defeated him. His ability to control dark M2 magic was portentous. No guards, no barrier, and no sign were there; even a fool could enter this cave easily. Whoever went there but never came at their own will. Many years ago, it was a hotspot for thrill seekers and teenagers. It was Luna's idea to earn some cash to build that door. 97% of them were found dead or went missing.

"What are you looking for, Eros la?" Mir's chirpy voice rang in his ear.

He lowered his eyes and noticed Mir was sitting on his shoulder while basking the sun.

"You! Go home. "Eros growled.

Mir shook his head and stared at him with big eyes. " Eros la, what are you doing? "

"Sightseeing!"

"There are many places to look at instead of watching reptiles and eight-legged monsters like our pink river, wood statues, and planting ceremony," grumbled Mir in a monotonous tone.

"Got it. Now go away." Even though Eros had threatened him, he didn't force him to leave. Sometimes he liked noisy companion.

Out of nowhere, something was glinting in the sky as Eros jumped quickly in midair and grabbed it. Then cast a spell to save himself from freefall.

Mir opened his eyes, and horror was drawn on his face. "You should have warned me, la. I thought I would die at any moment the way you do. "

"I have been told to go, but you chose not to listen to my orders. Don't blame me. " He shrugged.

Mir took a deep breath, then gazed at what Eros was holding. It was a jute bag as he took something from the bag. His eyes twinkled when he saw an amethyst that was radiant purple as he also noticed something inside of amethyst. A gem inside of amethyst. He had never seen it before.

"Woow. So sparkling."

Before Eros could say something, he got a call.

"Hello!"

"Good afternoon, Master Eros."

Hearing the voice, Eros' cheeks turned red, and he yelled at him with disdain.

"You bastard! You dared to call me after snitching me behind, Klaus? Have I done something wrong to you in the past that you are making my life miserable? Every time I had done evil things, you would indeed create trouble. Parasite! Sucking my blood and my money. "

Klaus was quiet as his master started ranting. After staying a century with him, he was used to this torment.

He spoke in a calm manner: "Master, you have forgotten that I will never backstab you."

Eros gave a nod of approval. Then Klaus asked it in a gruff voice.

"May I know why you are accusing me of such false remarks, which I have never committed?"

"You told me about the slave. Seriously, Klaus, aren't you aware how many enemies are waiting for opportunities to kill my weakling?" He gritted his teeth in wrath. "And not that; you had told me about the La Vida report that I submitted long ago. Klaus, are you on my side or my enemies?"

He couldn't forget how Luna humiliated him. Her voice was like a plague, disturbing his head and sowing the seeds of suspicion and disgust for her.

Klaus, on the other hand, put aside his scones tray and objected to him. "Sir, it is true that I had informed you about Miss Veronica because she is your only friend slash sister that you can trust. Therefore, I didn't share any information about your professional matters. "

"So you meant someone else had done your job. "Eros exclaimed after coming to a conclusion.

"It might be. For the sake of the Lord, don't say I am a snitcher."

"You are. " Eros pondered, and it was hard to believe someone was plotting against him. The million-dollar question was who would dare to do that?

As Eros was contemplating, Klaus broke the silence.

"I forgot to mention that Luna called me after you left for Estomoforest. She sounded sad and exhausted as Miss Luna was in big trouble. You already guessed what it meant, Lord. "

"A war is about to begin. " Eros opened his mouth in revulsion. If someone asked Eros, did he like war? His answer was no, except if he was making money from it. The war was never a solution, but sometimes we didn't have a choice but to fight our rights.

"My lord, which side are you on? "

"Klaus, you know me. I always take side with money. " Eros said it with an evil smirk. "Klaus, three days later, sent the whole battalion with weapons and top magus. If I don't come back then, Veronica will be your responsibility. " Eros' eyes were dauntless as he ordered it.

He hung up the call.

Mir, who was silent during their call, sent an electrical message through his hyphae. Everything they talked about was shared with high commands. At the end of the day, he was a citizen of Estomoforest. He would never betray them when he knew Eros was a winning factor.

"Eros la, where are you going?" Mir asked him sweetly.
