The cave was pitch-black and filled with an unsettling presence of fear. It felt like someone was crawling beneath him and whispering a funeral note to him.
He stopped and looked at the walls of the cave, where carcasses of humans were hanging there. Some were fresh, and some were too old. An ordinary human would vomit after seeing that but Eros was unbothered by it. He had seen horrifying death, and internal organs were piling like a scrapyard.
Eros touched the cave and whispered under his breath. 'Kaal!'
He walked towards the centre of the cave, where Sabestian was there. As far as he remembered, Luna kept her prisoner beside that freaking devilish monster. Talking about Kaal, he was far stronger than anyone else. Eros couldn't defeat him once. Therefore, Luna imprisoned that madman in an isolated cell. As he was getting closer to Sabestian, the temperature was dropping by a big margin. The thick fog was obscuring his night vision as he had relied on other senses like sound and smell.
"As usual."
He was taking the next step; he felt suffocation like someone was strangling his neck. His breath turned heavier and heavier.
"Ahh! ufff! Ufff! " His heartbeat was beating faster and faster, like he would collapse soon.
Eros touched the wall, and blood soon covered his hand.
"Fuck!"
Kaal was a dark magus where he used forbidden magic to control anyone. Specifically speaking, dark magus mostly uses sacrificial rituals and experiments with them. In his time, Kaal was an extraordinary magus who was praised by everyone with zero hatred. Even Eros was influenced by him at one time.
Eros was about to go into deep slumber when the pendant started glistening in a ghastly cave. He felt calm and regained his consciousness.
"Mind Haze!" He yelled. Soon, a layer of black gooey layered on him, defending him from Kaal's magic.
Eros was able to breathe in polluted air. He had understood what had just happened to him.
The strong chemical gas made him hallucinate and snatched his rationality. Yes, mind jaze could be used as a calming agent.
Eros was finally reached, yet he felt something different. Instead of being greeted by Sabestian, he saw a pair of cold eyes.
"We. Meet. Again, Mighty Eros. " Abel said in a lethargic voice. The snake was behind the bar while eating his feast. "I never thought I would meet you again.
The gate opened, although Eros showed hesitation to enter. Who knew what trap they had prepared for him?
"You are not the guy that I was looking for. You know my friend who has brown eyes and blue hair. Quite chripy in my opinion and ugly. "
Abel gave a quick glance and stuck out his tongue. "You are late. "
Eros crossed his hand and was perplexed by the idea that Luna outsmarted him.
"Abel, tell me where my friend is. "
"I have anticipated that my lady would give me a last gift that will peace my heart. I didn't expect to see a bastard here. No offence; you are no less than a tyrant. "
"None taken! I do know myself for who I am. Anyway, I was chosen for the most desirable tyrant around the world ten times. "
"Hiss!" Abel's eyes lifted up as he swallowed his meat. "
Eros noticed those despondent eyes and understood he was ready to commit suicide. If someone wanted to kill himself, then they surrendered their life to Kaal. It made Magus stronger; however, he had to give 20% energy to the community. This was a mutual decision by them.
"It sounds like you are quitting. "
Abel showed his fang and scowled at the man. "I am not a coward, although I am following my orders."
Eros laughed heartily and crossed his hands in disbelief. What he said is pure garbage and totally unsettling him. Following a superior with no question asked is what a soldier does, not a tyrant.
"Your eye tells different things."
Abel wearily laughed. "Being a martyr is an honour. I have already fulfilled my purpose to live. "
Eros widened his lips and was amused by his remarks. As he was about to speak, someone interrupted him.
"Well, well, a guest has arrived in my humble courtyard. " The unknown voice had a hint of contempt. " Eros! My old friend, what brings you here?"
Eros's face darkened to hear this familiar voice yet agitated. The man was a sign of an ominous thing. He decided not to answer him.
"Not a mood talk. Anyway, let's do some easting." Kaal's voice was cheerful and ecstatic to have his dessert.
Out of the blue, the wall disappeared, and a flash brought upon the cave. Abel froze, and slowly a couple of black strings tied the snake. He didn't resist and bow down to the greatest thing. This step would provide him the peace that he wanted most.
He already lost his wife long ago, and living alone was not worth it. He died. He didn't scream, smile, or show any regret. It felt like he was too exhausted to keep living. Death was his answer
"Not my type of food, but your pure M2 energy is delicious." Soon, those black strings started changing their colour, as well as Abel started feeling lethargic.
"That's finished quickly. " Eros mumbled and walked away.
"Eros, leaving so soon. Why don't we chitchat for a moment?"
"With a monster like you. Naah, you are obnoxious."
Eros showed disinterest. Kaal was always bad news, and he had no time to talk with him.
"The pendant you wore, who gave it to you." Kaal sounded angry. "This is not for you.
"Bought it."
"So it is going to happen what it was meant to happen. "
Eros puzzled and asked in twisted words. "I am in no mood for riddles, so tell me what you are trying to say. "
Kaal laughed, "Hahaa!" It echoed throughout the cave as a donkey was crying in the midst of Zombie Island. "You fool. The woman you bring is no ordinary human but a messenger of God. She is… "
Silence!
Eros' legs shivered by Kaal's comment, then he calmed himself. He knew she was a golden mutant and had the ability to regenerate.
"So what? She is none of your business. "
"Till the world does not find out about her. A message of a god in an apocalypse world—do you know what it meant? If I were you, I would kill her before she found out. "
"This is why you are in prison. " The next second, Eros punched the wall.
*Bam*
"Don't dare to name my woman. SHE IS MOTHER OF MY CHILD. "
"Haha! Your obsession to have your own blood would let you down one day. " Kaal told the oracle in mockery.
