At that moment, he arrived at the house. so he parked his car in its parking lot, then left it to enter the house and walk through its large and spacious hall. there he saw Angel. whose sight brought him back to what he had done a short while ago in the club and he smiled in spite of himself.
Just then something else came to his mind at that moment, Something related to Angel. Today she seemed more responsive to everyone, not just him. She began to speak freely and was not satisfied with short words. This means that she had begun to feel comfortable being here and was getting used to the place.
He approached where Angel was sitting. She was not paying attention to him, but was concentrating with all her senses to read the book in her hands. Mark sneaked up lightly to grab the book from her hands suddenly and in the midst of her astonishment said with a smile: "What are you reading?"
She raised her eyes to him and said in astonishment: "Mark, when did you come back?"
He said, waving his hand carelessly: "A little while ago."
He added, looking at the title of the book she was reading: "Now let's see what you were reading."
She looked away from him in silence, and he continued sarcastically: "(Love for eternity), Is this what you are reading? I didn't know that you believed such nonsense."
Angel turned to him sharply and said in astonishment: "Nonsense??"
He said sarcastically as he turned the pages of the novel in his hands: "yes, nonsense. Who would believe that such romantic love exists in this world except in movies and novels?"
Angel shook her head in denial and said: "That's not true at all. Napoleon and Josephine were from reality and not just a novel."
Mark said with a smile: "They are from a time that has passed and ended and there is no longer a thing as romantic love."
Angel objected: "Who said so? love still exists, otherwise the authors wouldn't have written about it."
" Because it's just an imagination coming from their heads."
"Rather, it is evidence that love still exists in this world, but you are the one who rejects this reality."
Mark said as he leaned towards her: "Tell me, where do you see such love in the world around you?"
She swallowed nervously until her throat dried up. The answer was present deep within her and in her feelings. Her heart wanted to tell him that he was closer than she imagined. Her feelings for him increased little by little.
She was silent for a moment while searching for an answer in her mind, and then she said with a faint smile: "In a husband's love for his wife, in a son's love for his mother, in a brother's love for his brother."
Mark said as he took a seat on one of the chairs and threw the book on the small table in front of him: "This is not true at all. A son's feelings toward his mother are a strong emotion that is generated over the days and makes him become attached to her."
Angel said with determination: "He loves her too."
He nodded and then said: "But it is completely different from the romantic love A young man has for a girl. This love makes him immerse himself up to his ears in it. He doesn't think about anything but love. He'll be ready to sacrifice everything for the sake of this love."
Angel said calmly:" What is wrong with all this?"
He put his fingers through his hair and said with a smile: "To be governed and bound by worthless feelings."
Angel furrowed her eyebrows at his strange expression and said angrily: "Why do you object to these feelings?"
"I told you because it is baseless."
Angel wanted to ask him about something else, but she found that her shyness prevented her, so she remained silent. At that moment, Olivia approached the place and said: "If you wanted to choose your life partner, how would you choose her then?"
Angel turned to her sharply and her eyebrows rose in astonishment. This was the same question that was deep in her heart her, one she was unable to express outwardly. while Mark said indifferently: "Love should not be the basis for marriage. there is admiration, knowledge, trust and so on. One of those things."
Olivia said angrily: "You are really a complicated guy. You see girls around you and you think that they are a toy in your hand. And if you want to choose, you will choose a girl who you will get some interest in marrying."
Mark said as he relaxed in his seat: "Maybe."
As for Angel, she looked at him with bitterness and sadness. Does he really see love as trivial and baseless feelings? He sees choosing his life partner, one who will live with him throughout their lives as shouldn't be based on love. should she lost her hope in Mark? Or is it because he didn't feel those feelings? The warmth that crept into his heart so he started talking about love in this way? She'll never know. But she has become afraid of her feelings towards Mark. maybe because her feelings are getting stronger with the passage of time. without knowing what the fate of these feelings will be?
