Chapter 8 - unveiling the past

Yohan was deep in training, striving to upgrade his skills, when the old man approached him. "What's your mother and father doing?" the old man asked, his tone gentle.

Yohan paused, a shadow crossing his face. "They are dead," he replied quietly.

The old man looked taken aback. "Oh, sorry. What happened?"

Yohan took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. "I am from Mizoram. My father was addicted to drugs. My mother's name was Anika, and my father, Alex, was a Christian from Myanmar. The border in my state is poorly guarded, so drugs can be illegally imported from Myanmar. My dad was also a drug dealer. He was the one who sold drugs in Mizoram. I lived a somewhat luxurious life, but my parents would fight daily over silly reasons."

Yohan's voice grew softer as he continued, "One day, my father got angry because my mom was cheated him, so he killed her. Later, our neighbors reported my father to the police. He was arrested, and in prison, he was killed by gangsters. After that, I didn't know what to do. But then, an old man grabbed my hand and took me to Madurai. He was my master, Zephyr. He taught me martial arts and gave me a purpose. He passed away too, so I moved to Chennai to find work."

The old man listened intently, his eyes filled with sympathy. "Your past is truly heartbreaking," he said softly. "You've been through so much, Yohan."

Yohan nodded, a hint of a sad smile on his lips. "Yes, but it's also what made me who I am today. I owe everything to Master Zephyr. Without him, I don't know where I'd be."

The old man placed a comforting hand on Yohan's shoulder. "Your strength and resilience are remarkable, Yohan. You've overcome so much, and now you're here, ready to face even greater challenges."

Yohan nodded again, feeling a sense of peace. "Thank you," he said. "It's not easy, but I know I have a purpose now. And I'll do whatever it takes to honor my master's legacy and protect those who can't protect themselves."

Yohan looked at the old man, curiosity in his eyes. "What's your name, old man?" he asked.

The old man smiled warmly. "My name is Kapil," he replied. "And I am a martial arts master."

Yohan nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "As I expected," he said.

Kapil raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What did you expect, Yohan?"

Yohan smiled. "Your appearance is different from any other man's. There's a certain aura about you. It makes sense that you're a martial arts master."

Kapil chuckled softly. "But I'm not as strong as I used to be, Yohan."

Yohan shook his head with a respectful smile. "Age doesn't matter. Skills determine your value. That's the essence of martial arts."

Kapil replied, "I accept that, but in this world, age does matter; you need raw strength to surpass others. Right now, only two humans— you and Akhil— can possess supernatural power. Meanwhile, Ashura holds the power of gods."

Yohan nodded, determination in his eyes. "We have to defeat him. He must be confused about Akhil's power."

Kapil agreed. "Yes, Yohan, we have to wait for the right opportunity."

Henry approached the conversation with curiosity. "What are you guys talking about?" he asked.

"We're discussing about Ashura," Yohan replied.

Henry offered a reassuring smile. "Just relax yourselves."

Kapil turned to him. "What brings you here, Henry?"

"I need to train hard to obtain power," Henry stated firmly.

Yohan considered this and suggested, "I think you should focus on martial arts."

Henry shook his head. "I need some power to protect, you know."

Suddenly, Henry's phone rang. He answered it promptly. "What is it?"

A military officer's urgent voice came through the line. "Sea creatures are attacking Marina Beach."

Henry's expression turned serious. "I'll come quickly."

Yohan, sensing the urgency, asked, "What happened?"

"Sea creatures are attacking Marina Beach," Henry repeated. "Let's move quickly."
