Chapter 12 - The dark side effect

Ashura watched through his mystical vision, noting with a sinister grin that Yohan had extracted the power of the Ashta Siddhi. He laughed menacingly. "Yohan, you will face the real problem now."

Suddenly, Yohan felt a wave of sickness wash over him. His legs weakened, and he collapsed from his chair. "What's happening to me? I've never felt this condition before. Is this a side effect?" he wondered aloud, his voice strained. His vision blurred, and he noticed his eyes turning black.

Akhil noticed Yohan's distress and immediately used his ability to reverse time by five minutes. However, a shimmering barrier formed around Yohan, preventing the time reversal. Panicking, Akhil called out, "Oldman! Henry! Help, something's wrong with Yohan!"

Yohan's heart rate plummeted as he was rushed to the ICU. The doctors worked frantically, but despite their best efforts, they couldn't identify the cause of his condition. The heart monitor flatlined, and the room fell silent.

A doctor emerged from the ICU, a grave expression on his face. "I'm sorry, sir. Yohan is dead."

Akhil's eyes filled with tears. "What are you saying? It's impossible!"

Henry, equally shocked, demanded answers. "Why? What happened, doctor?"

The doctor shook his head, bewildered. "We don't know. His body just... shut down."

Suddenly, a nurse burst into the room. "Doctor, a black hole... it took Yohan's body!"

The doctor stared at her in disbelief. "What are you saying?"

The Old Man, usually a font of wisdom, stood silent and confused, unable to comprehend the strange turn of events.

The news of Yohan's death spread like wildfire, causing chaos and despair around the world. In Chennai, the military troops were deployed in full force for Yohan's memorial, the city gripped by grief and confusion.

As the ceremony progressed, a dark figure emerged from the shadows. Ashura, now devoid of the Ashta Siddhi's power but still formidable, stepped into the light. His sea creatures, previously empowered by his siddhi, lay lifeless in the waters, their energy drained by Yohan's actions.

The higher officials, recognizing the threat, issued a desperate order. "Shoot! Take him down!"

A barrage of bullets and energy blasts erupted towards Ashura, but with a single, powerful clap of his hands, every soldier and officer was rendered immobile, their bodies frozen in place.

Akhil, sensing the danger, attempted to use his time-stopping ability, but before he could act, an invisible force struck him down, sending him sprawling to the ground.

Ashura's voice boomed across the field, filled with dark triumph. "Even without the Ashta Siddhi, I can destroy you all in an instant. Do not defy me, for you are all my slaves now!"

The air crackled with tension as Ashura's words sank in, the once defiant military now paralyzed with fear and helplessness. The world watched in horror, realizing the depth of the power they faced and the dire consequences of Yohan's fall.

Ashura, towering over the stunned crowd, turned his cold gaze to the officers. "Arrest Akhil and take him to the prison," he commanded.

Akhil, still weakened, was dragged away, unable to resist. The crowd watched in horror as he was taken into custody.

Old Man Kapil, his voice shaking with urgency, stepped forward. "Don't do that," he pleaded. "Please, Ashura, show mercy."

Ashura's eyes narrowed. "Why, Old Man? What do you think you can achieve by begging?"

"We can leave this place," Kapil implored. "Please, forgive us."

Ashura's face twisted into a cruel smile. "Officers, shoot the Old Man."

The soldiers hesitated, their guns wavering. They couldn't bring themselves to shoot the frail, pleading figure of Kapil.

Seeing their reluctance, Ashura's voice rose in fury. "I will not repeat this again. Do it or die!"

With trembling hands, the military officers raised their weapons. The air was thick with tension and fear. Then, as they opened fire, something incredible happened. Old Man Kapil raised his hand, and the bullets disintegrated mid-air.

"Are you thinking I am weak?" Kapil declared, his voice steady. "I am a martial artist and I can use the stone siddhi."

Ashura's eyes widened in surprise, but his shock quickly turned to fury. He lunged at Kapil, throwing a powerful punch. Kapil deftly dodged and countered with a critical blow to Ashura's chest.

Ashura staggered back, momentarily stunned. "After 100 years, you are the first mortal to land such a powerful punch. I am impressed, Old Man," he said, a twisted smile forming on his lips. "But sadly, I can regenerate with my own powers."

Before the eyes of the horrified onlookers, the wound on Ashura's chest began to heal, the flesh knitting itself back together. Ashura stood tall, his expression one of dark amusement and menace.
