Chapter 3 - When the Knight King meets with Sociopath Noble Lady

"Are you sure that you were a commoner, Artoria? Your hand and skin seem too smooth for a mere beggar." Aria asked in doubt when she accidentally clashed with Artoria's skin as they shared the same bed.

As much as she was displeased by the fact of sleeping in the same bed with a country bumpkin, she couldn't show it, especially since this country bumpkin requested to sleep with her to get to know her better. To maintain her sweet façade, it was impossible for her to refuse, so she reluctantly agreed as Artoria moved into the same room as her.

After taking the bath, Artoria seemed like a very different person. Whether in terms of beauty, grace, or nobility, she was not inferior to Aria and even surpassed her in every way, which made Aria doubt her identity.

Hopefully, Artoria was a noble, not a commoner. After all, this girl had already touched her here and there and even shared the same bed with her. It would be a nightmare for the rest of her life if Artoria was not a noble but someone from a lower class.

Her distaste for them was evident by the fact that she enjoyed torturing them in her basement by luring many homeless people to her home.

So, this question was not out of the blue or on a whim, but because she wanted Artoria to answer that she was from the high class. The bitterness and hatred she felt for acting nice to someone beneath her could be relieved if someone she disdained was actually her equal.

She saw everything based on their birth rather than talent, competence, or beauty. The nobler they were, the better.

Fortunately, Artoria answered the question that she wanted to hear most from her.

"I was the daughter of King Uther, not someone from this place. I am from a very faraway land; you may not know where it is. I don't even know how to come back. All my belongings were spent, and I had no choice but to sleep on the street," Artoria whispered.

"As you pretty much know, Lady Aria, as a noble myself, I will never stoop low to thievery or begging from others. You have already seen my physical capabilities. It would never be difficult for me to enrich my own pocket with such acts, but my pride and chivalry as a noble prevent me from committing such a disgraceful act."

All of the points above were true. Artoria Pendragon was the daughter of King Uther, and she didn't like the act of stealing. Her belongings were just Caliburn, Excalibur, Avalon, and the Holy Lance, and she was not willing to sell them.

Yes, she had no possessions except for them; all of her possessions in the real world didn't come with her to the new world.

Aria's eyes brightened at the explanation. It seemed Artoria wasn't a country bumpkin but a noble lady.

Her high social skills, grace, and nobility could only be possessed by someone who had a high education, and only nobles had the qualifications to enter the school and the capability to hire tutors to learn them.

So, she didn't think Artoria was lying.

How could a commoner even learn these things or have the money to spend to become noble or act like one?

"Can you wield a sword, Artoria? I will recommend you to the Imperial Police if you can do some basic swordsmanship. You know, I have connections there," she offered.

Artoria blinked at the sudden development.

Her instincts told her that this girl was sincere in helping her.

So, this girl is actually not torturing those homeless people because she is a psychopath, but because she is a racist? This reminded her of Hitler, who liked torturing Jews but was very kind to his own people.

It seems as long as she was noble in this girl's book, she would not act maliciously toward her.

At first, she wanted to kill this girl and her family because they wanted to act maliciously toward her, but she has never been a pedantic person.

Since this girl offered her benefits and a foothold in this world, she wouldn't refuse.

"I can, but you did say you wanted me to become your handmaiden."

"Your talent would be better spent at the Imperial Police, Artoria." Aria didn't want Artoria to see her warehouse or her dark side and refused to let her serve her for fear she would see another side of her.

"Good night then, Aria. I will be in your care from now on," Artoria nodded and accepted her offer.

"Good night to you too, Artoria." Aria then turned off the light as they began to close their eyes.
