Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Siege of Hyrule

The kingdom of Hyrule stood as a beacon of hope and prosperity, its towering walls and bustling streets a testament to the strength and unity of its people. Yet, a shadow loomed on the horizon, a force of darkness that threatened to engulf the realm in chaos. The Void Creatures, led by Zerathos the Shadowlord and Malissandra from very far watching from a magic mirror unbeknownst to the Lunar Knights, had set their sights on Hyrule, intent on bringing ruin to its lands.

"Let's see what you are made of, since you planned to foil our plans once again after you all did from the last time, you better entertain us."

The two void leaders who watch from their magic mirrors said as they commanded the large amount of beast to attack the Kingdom of Hyrule.

Denim Lab, who was appointed by the guild leader of the Lunar Knights to command and lead the team, stood atop the eastern wall, his eyes scanning the horizon. His grip tightened around the hilt of the Void Slayer Sword, the legendary weapon gleaming with a faint, ominous light. Below him, the Lunar Knights prepared for the inevitable assault, their determination unwavering despite the overwhelming odds.

"Zhouxin, report," Denim commanded, his voice steady and calm.

Zhouxin, the chief strategist, stepped forward, his intricate maps and data streams providing a detailed overview of the battlefield. "The Void Creatures are amassing on all fronts, surrounding Hyrule. Their numbers are vast, numbering in the thousands. They appear to be organized and their moves are coordinated seeming to be being commanded by someone but we don't know who they are, probably commanding from a distance. Our scouts report dark portals opening throughout the countryside, allowing their forces to pour in unchecked."

Miya, the leader of one of the guild's elite teams, approached with a grim expression. "We've fortified the main gates and positioned archers along the walls, but we can't hold them off indefinitely. We need a plan, and we need it now."

Denim nodded, his mind racing through possible strategies. "Helena, make sure the healers are ready. Thorne, coordinate with the archers and target their spellcasters. Lyra, prepare your most powerful AoE spells. We need to hit them hard and fast. Balmond, Kane, Darius, you're our front line. Hold the gates at all costs."

Elven cannons, ancient and powerful weapons, were wheeled into position along the walls. Their silver barrels gleamed under the sunlight, and their presence boosted the morale of the defenders. These cannons, capable of firing blasts of pure magical energy, were a gift from the elven allies of Hyrule and had proven invaluable in past battles.

As his guildmates sprang into action, Denim took a deep breath, his eyes narrowing as he focused on the upcoming fierce battle. "This is it," he muttered to himself. "We either stand together and fight, or we fall apart."

The ground trembled as the Void Creatures advanced, their monstrous forms blotting out the sun. Shadowy tendrils writhed and twisted, and the air was thick with the stench of decay. Zerathos and Malissandra, still watching from their magic mirrors the unfolding chaos with cold, calculating eyes.

"Here they come!" Thorne shouted, loosing an arrow that found its mark in the eye of a hulking void beast.

Lyra unleashed a torrent of lightning and fire, her spells crackling through the air and striking down waves of enemies. The sky lit up with magical energy, and the walls of Hyrule shook with the force of the attack.

Balmond, Kane, and Darius braced themselves as the first wave of Void Creatures crashed against the gates. Their shields held firm, but the sheer force of the assault pushed them to their limits. "Hold the line!" Balmond bellowed, swinging his massive sword and cleaving through the dark flesh of their enemies.

Serena intercepted and neutralized the arcane threats, her counters preventing the Void Creatures' spells from overwhelming their defenses. Felix's bardic melodies echoed through the battlefield, boosting the morale and strength of the defenders.

Amidst the chaos, Denim charged forward, his Void Slayer Sword cutting through the darkness with a radiant light. He moved with the precision and grace of a master swordsman, every strike calculated to deal maximum damage. His blade clashed with the void creatures, and the defenders' courage was bolstered by his example. He executed all of his skills one after another in succession maximizing and utilizing all available arsenals in his possession to minimize the damages that the void monsters will cause.

The Void Creatures swarmed the kingdom in waves, their numbers seemingly endless. The elven cannons fired volley after volley of magical energy consuming the elven crystals one after another which were used also as a main material in creating magical items, weapons and equipment, the blasts tearing through the enemy ranks and leaving trails of destruction in their wake. The defensive barrier that protected Hyrule flickered under the constant assault, its magical energy struggling to hold back the tide of darkness.

In the midst of the battle, Denim's communication device buzzed. It was Zhouxin, his voice urgent. "Denim, we've detected a concentrated attack on the western wall. They're trying to break through!"

Denim's eyes narrowed. "Miya, take your team and reinforce the western wall. We can't let them breach it."

Miya nodded and rallied her team, quickly moving to the threatened area. The Void Creatures intensified their assault, their relentless attacks pushing the defenders to their limits. The barrier shuddered, cracks appearing in its shimmering surface.

"We need more firepower," Zhouxin muttered, his fingers flying over his maps and data streams. "Lyra, can you coordinate a combined strike with the elven cannons?"

Lyra's eyes glowed with determination. "On it. Archers, focus your fire on the larger creatures. Everyone else, hold the line."

As Lyra and the elven cannon operators prepared their synchronized attack, Denim felt a surge of magical energy. Lyra chanted an incantation, and the elven cannons glowed with a blinding light. "Now!" she shouted, and a massive beam of energy shot from the cannons, converging on a central point within the enemy ranks.

The explosion was deafening, the shockwave knocking back even the largest of the Void Creatures. The ground shook, and for a moment, the assault faltered. Denim seized the opportunity, rallying his guildmates for a counterattack.

"Push them back!" he roared, leading the charge. The Lunar Knights surged forward, their combined might driving the Void Creatures back. Thorne's arrows found their marks with deadly precision, and Balmond's powerful strikes cleared a path through the chaos.

Helena moved swiftly among the wounded, her healing spells mending flesh and bone, keeping the Lunar Knights in the fight. Shinra provided strategic insights, ensuring the team remained coordinated and focused amidst the chaos.

Despite their best efforts, the Void Creatures continued to press forward, their relentless assault threatening to overwhelm Hyrule's defenses. The defenders fought with everything they had, but it became clear that they could not hold out indefinitely.

"We need a plan to take out those portals," Denim said, his voice grim. "Zhouxin, can you pinpoint their locations?"

Zhouxin nodded, his eyes scanning the maps. "There are three main portals fueling the assault. But destroying them needs sufficient amount of firepower to disrupt the magical flow of portals but still we need to try or else we will eventually lose the battle, if we destroy them, we might stand a chance."

Denim's gaze hardened. "Miya, Lyra, Thorne, you're with me. We're going to take out those portals."

The small team moved swiftly through the chaos, their path lit by the flickering light of the defensive barrier. As they reached the first portal, Lyra unleashed a devastating spell, the magical energy tearing through the dark portal and collapsing it in on itself.

"One down, two to go," Thorne muttered, nocking another arrow.

They pressed on, the battle raging around them. The second portal fell to Miya's precision strikes, and they reached the third just as the barrier began to falter.

"Hold them off!" Denim shouted, his sword flashing as he cut through the Void Creatures guarding the portal. Lyra and Thorne focused their attacks on the portal's core, their combined efforts shattering it in a burst of dark energy.

With the portals destroyed, the tide of battle began to turn. The Void Creatures, now cut off from their reinforcements, faltered and began to retreat. The defenders of Hyrule rallied, their hope rekindled by the sight of their leader fighting at the forefront.

In a final, desperate push, Denim and his team managed to break through the enemy's lines, their coordinated assault shattering the Void Creatures' formation. As the dust settled and the echoes of battle faded, Denim stood amidst the ruins of the battlefield, his sword still glowing with the remnants of its power.

"We did it," Miya said, her voice filled with relief and exhaustion.

Denim nodded, his expression grim but resolute. "This was just the beginning. The Void Creatures won't stop until they've consumed everything in their path. But as long as we stand together, we can face whatever comes next."

The Lunar Knights raised their weapons in a salute, their spirits lifted by their hard-won victory. For now, Hyrule was safe, but the war against the Void Creatures was far from over. Denim knew that they would need to grow stronger, forge new alliances, and uncover the secrets of their enemies if they were to protect their world from the encroaching darkness.

"Very good, you seem quite capable in being my puppet," Malissandra licked her lips as the two void leaders finish watching Denim's applaudable performance of the battle.
