In the bustling streets of Oshodi ,Lagos-Nigeria, the busy streets and the towns people doing the usual,
Given the state of the area which was close to resembling the slums if not for the high roads and visible commercial buildings , if it wasn't for the poorly situated shops posted on the roadside and side walks it would've been aSite to behold .
Among the many shops there is one that's meets the eye as there are multiple items up for sale in different small shops.
A Foot wear, Clothing, Snacks ands drinks, printing press shops, we're respectfully arranged on side walk, these shops were all different so there was little to no competition amongst them.
Amongst the sales personnel was a dark chubby woman with stress marks on her body ,one would think the lady was in her fifties or early sixties but she was in fact in her early forties
She was attending to her customers before a call entered her blackberry phone
[Jide wears] was in the caller, a close friend of her husband who is into the monogram and fashion design business
"Hello Brother.." The lady picked the call.
As she spoke in the phone the latters voice could not be heard only as static noises,
"Ah …it's ok .. I will send my son to your shop "the lady responded as the call ended
She went back to her customers that were waiting for the call to be over, after attending to them she called out to her son "Adedeji !!!"
In the blue run down building behind, a voice is heard from the one of the windows upstairs
"MAAA!!!"
"…"
"Maa…" The voice responded to her call
"…"
"…."
"..I'm coming.. " The boy let out a sigh
In the building upstairs we see a silhouette through the window as it slowly recedes
We see a young lad with dark blue hair almost black in color and dull yellow eyes that are close to being brown, he wore his light blue shirt bidding his scars and muscles build on top of a green dirty joggers he scratched his hair as he made his way down
'What does this woman want from me now' The boy thought to himself
As he reached the outer part of the house as it lacked a proper fence -this was close to the slums after all - he walked towards the woman who had called him
"Mum, what is it?" Deji spoke with a lazy tone
"So as your mother I can not call you again ,Ah I don't understand children today-" Deli's Mum lamented .
"It's okay ma!, I'm here what what did you need from me" Deji sighed as he was fed up already
He was enjoying videos of his role models before his mother called for him
"Mr Jide called just now, .. you see this clothes they I've packed here take it to his shop now" His Mum gestured to a pile of clothes she had packed in a sac bag .
"Eh, what if tranport ?.. you know his shop is far.." Deji said as he reached his hand out to his mum
"It's that hand you'll eat this night , GET IT OUT OF MY FACE !!" His mum yelled
While it was true that his destination was far Deji had been lazing around all holiday ,and it was this same place he was to learn a handy work but he used multiple excuses to not go, his mum was pissed at him already.
"But it will take me almost nine to elven minutes if I walk and now I have to take this huge load with me "Deji complained
"It's just big there is nothing there ,now go and do delivery for me " Demi's mum pushed him to leave
Truly the bag wasn't heavy after all it was skirts and light clothen that where there ,but you'd have to cut Deji some slack also ,
The time was almost noon and he had to walk with a big sac bag. If it was a small load, it would have been doable ,but now his nine minute journey would turn to twenty minutes.
"Can I use out of the money to take bike home" Deji tried his last card .
"...Sure.., just don't take to long you need to pick your brother from school also" His mum comprised.
'Why though' Deji's thoughts trailed
While Deji's attitude was bad she couldn't send her son out in this heat ,but the brat needed to be punished .

Deji hurried left for his destination the time 11:47am at this rate he would reach Jide's shop by 12pm if there are no delays.
