Chapter 44 - Second chamber

"Prove it."

Aiden said as he turned towards Ann and looked at her.

Swoosh

Ann swung her arm, this time leaving a huge surge of lightning that remained around them for a certain period of time.

"Will this make you trust me?"

Swoosh

Ann said as she threw something towards Aiden.

Catching the thing, it was a blue stone with some sort of round symbol on it. The blue stone was very smooth, and the round symbol had three black circles on it.

"Agh. These arrows are annoying."

Kate, who was protecting herself from the arrows with a shield, groaned in annoyance.

As soon as she realized that it was a trap, she had taken out a shield from her storage pouch.

Thankfully, she was with Ben, who made it easier to deal with the arrows since he had conjured the ground to raise up and block the arrows from almost every direction.

"I wonder how the guild master and Aron are doing." Blake said as he sat on the ground with his back rested on the raised ground.

"Hey! Don't laze around." Kate said instantly, noticing Blake was being lazy.

"No need to waste everyone's energy at once." Blake said as he pointed at Ben.

"Correct. You won't last long if you start doing that." Ben said as a drop of sweat ran down his face.

Surprisingly, Ben was having it hard to keep the ground raised up as the arrows were not normal.

Elemental control wasn't his forte.

"These arrows emit a strange feeling from them." Noi said as she got a tingling feeling from them just by looking at them.

"Ben."

When they were busy protecting themselves, they suddenly heard from Ann.

"The arrows attack would be stopped for some moment; we are going back inside the room." She said as Kate, Blake, and Noi looked at each other.

"When I say go, run towards the room." She said as Ben just stood their crouching on the ground while holding the ground with his hands.

"Be ready." Ben warned the three as they stood alert for the signal.

Whoosh

Thunk Thunk Thunk

"GO"

As soon as Ben felt a huge surge or energy around them, he dispelled the raised ground as he looked at the three and ran towards the door.

Understanding what he meant, the three also didn't lurk around as they ran towards the door.

Running, Ann also caught up with them as Blake exclaimed his worry.

"What happened to Aron?" He said as he looked back.

"Why isn't he coming?" Blake frowned as he saw Aiden's figure sitting on the ground with both palms at the ground.

"He will be fine. Worry about entering the room." Ann said as they reached the door.

"Ben."

Ben and Blake moved forward as they started to pull the door.

Crrk

The door was tough but was slowly opening.

[Reflection]

'…'

Aiden, who was on the ground, had his mind fully cleared as he intensified his focus.

Chssk Chssk

As soon as he used his skill, he realized the arrows weren't normal as it was directly hurting him, but he still kept on focusing.

Unlike the usual straight wall like shield, he was currently using all his might to create a dome like shield that protected from every direction.

'…'

Eden, who feared disturbing Aiden's focus, just sat in his consciousness room, clearly worried about the current situation.

Krrr

Aiden gritted his teeth as the pain was starting to feel unbearable.

Clack

Just as he was focusing, he heard the door opening as he opened his eyes.

'Looks like I was right.' Aiden thought, as now he just had to hold on for a little longer for them to come to rescue him.

Creak Creak Creak

'Huh?'

As he was sitting on the ground, he heard an omnious sound below him as he looked at it.

'T-the ground is breaking.'

Looking around, he realized that the ground was breaking down.

Clack

Looking forward, he saw a short man with a green bandana on his head standing at the door, preparing himself to come and rescue.

Creak Creak

'Do something!' Eden said with a hint of urgency in his voice as Aiden's mind started to be cloudy.

An image of two humans skewered to death by arrows appeared on his head as he greeted his teeth.

Things were getting extremely serious.

"DON'T"

CREAK CREAK

Standing up, Aiden shouted towards the door as he warned.

The ground cracked even more fiercely as Aiden panicked.

'IDIOT DON'T!'

Eden screamed as Aiden realized what he did.

Creak

The shield started to break as Aiden shuddered and looked forward.

"DON'T COME." He shouted as he looked at Ben and Ann.

BAM

The cracking ground finally collapsed as Aiden's figure dropped down.

"ARON."

Blake screamed as he tried to run after him but was immediately stopped by Ben.

Clack

Closing the door, Ben looked towards Ann, who looked back.

"Explain," Ben said as Ann nodded her head.

"Let's continue." Ann said as the other members nodded their heads.

Walking at the corner of the room, Ann looked at the window that looked like it was fake.

"Is this really the entrance to the next chamber?" Kate commented as she doubtfully looked at the window.

It had a white frame with black glass. No matter how they looked at it, it looked like fake.

"Only one way to know." Ann said as she walked forward and extended her arm.

"Follow after me." She said as she touched the window.

Whoosh

As soon as she did, her figure disappeared.

The other members raised their eyebrows as they also did the same and entered the window.

Whoosh

The last one to enter was Blake, as his figure appeared in a very dark hallway. It was the same hallway that led to the entrance of chambers.

"So, it really worked." He muttered as he walked forward, following a tourch.

"Guild master."

After walking for a while, he saw other members in front of a very old and lanky door as he approached them.

"So he was right." He said as others nodded their heads.

"He is smart." Kate said as she put her hand on her waist.

"I hope he survived." She said as others nodded their heads.

"Don't be emotional. Now that there is one less member, Noi, you walk with me, and Kate and Blake, you two walk together behind us." Ann said as others nodded their heads.

'S-standing alongside the guild master.' Noi nervously thought as she stood beside Ann.

"Be careful. The chambers from now on should be even more dangerous." Ann said as others raised their guard.

"Ok. I'm opening the door." Ben said as he placed his shaking hand on the door and pushed it.

He could feel the danger of this chamber. It was screaming threats.

His hands were shaking from both fear and excitement as he expected to fight a strong foe.

They were now in the second chamber with, so far, one loss.
