"Duck!"
Egul's instincts urged him to dodge the attack. He quickly glanced around for Athan, but a split second later, he realized that the man he was trying to save was immortal. Athan, who had much slower reflexes than Egul, only heard the tribesman's warning a little too late.
The immortal's body flew backward, hitting the smooth marble wall, and generating a big crack on it.
All the bones on Athan's body were shattered, the impact was too much to bear and he died on the spot. Even though the mystic ice shield was protecting him, the two forces of mystic were crushed against each other, so much so that his body could not withstand the aftermath.
If there was no shield then Athan's body would have been sliced in half.
Egul backed off and put more shields on himself. His right hand quickly brought out a beef jerky and ate it. His eyes never left the skeleton, watching every movement of the piles of walking bones.
