Ona walked beside Kalus while showing him the other part of
the kingdom – the shops, schools, and other things along with people. And Kalus
had greeted each of them on the way with the wide smile he had worn before
hopping out of the car.
For Ona smiling, it was her daily thing, and not that she
was pretending, no. The smile on her lips came so easily as if they were
created for a beautiful smile. She introduced him to all the people they
encountered on the way to their kingdom's new accountant and Kalus's charisma
was enough for all to accept him and fall in love with him instantly.
"This is where we send letters and receive one so you
will slip your letter here if it's already inside the envelope and well
sealed," Ona respectively said and Kalus listened to her attentively with
his eyes moving slightly with Ona's gesturing hands.
"I get it," Kalus said.
Ona was about to get out of the shop when heard, "I
thought I would leave with you to pick up your mother's dress."
She turned mannerly and said, "You're a busy man, so I
didn't want to be disturbing you by taking much of your time."
Kalus had a wide smile and then said, "It would be an
honor to spend my time with you."
The princess had to jolt her mind in. There was no way a
person would be so sweet and perfect and that she would fall for him just like
that. In just a few days but it didn't matter, all Ona wanted was to be beside
Kalus all the time.
She gave him a nod showing her agreement to what Kalus was
saying.
"Perfect, wait for me, princess."
Nia was outside the shop with one male guard waiting for
Kalus to finish and he didn't take time.
They walked together while Kalus was talking sweet things
making Ona giggle.
"So how did you know you're talented in painting?"
Kalus asked.
Ona nearly tripped over the pebble but Kalus had her. He
swiftly placed his arm around her waist and then swooped her into his body.
"Be careful princess, I won't always be there to catch you."
Nia nearly squeaked but she held herself but Ona felt her.
"Sorry," Ona apologized.
"No need, because I would love to be around you and be
your shield and savior."
Princess Ona had to hide her blush away by answering,
"I knew it when I was 5…. There was a huge tree with mauve people flowers
mixed with white. I found myself looking for colors to just paint the tree
because it was too beautiful not to be painted and I did. It was not amazing
but beautiful in my eyes." Her smile and eyes evidenced that she loved
that tree and painting.
"Oh that is so beautiful princess, I would love to see
that painting one day."
The chuckle escaped Ona's lips, with the thought of Kalus
seeing the paint, made her mind have a silly thought. Kalus was surprised by
Ona's actions but not in an awkward way, he was ready for Ona to share whatever
was running in her mind to make her chuckle like that.
Kalus had to ask, "What did I say wrong?"
His light brown eyes glowed under the sun and the skin
shimmered so bright. Ona looked stunned by the man's handsome face, just
everything.
"Because the painting is in my bedroom, over the
wall," her shyness made her look like a little girl being admired for her
good manner.
Kalus took one step closer to her. Stared deeply into her
eyes and said, "I hope one day I will get to be invited in your bedroom to
admire your first painting ever."
Mmmmh. Kalus Windsorrow had Ona in numbness. Her chest
slimmed. She couldn't breathe. Kalus saw her eyes twinkling, the darkness of
her eyes was covered with stars inside with her slips moving slowly to part
ways.
Kalus clenched his jaws slowly too, with an audible gulp
then heard, "Yes, one day." So faint and thick.
The shop that had her mother's dress was a few feet from
them. Kalus strode inside after Ona.
"Hi, I'm here to pick up the Queen's dress," Ona
said.
"No need to say, Princess, we already have the Queen's
dress packed in here and you're looking gorgeous as always," the woman
said, she had her cheeks in a bun and high on her tan skin and wearing a floral
blouse that had high shoulders.
"Thank you, and this is Kalus Windsorrow from Valtira
Kingdom, our new Accountant who arrived yesterday with his assistant
Gideon."
The woman looked very pleased. Her cheeks raised even more.
Her other hand rose over the counter with eyes on Kalus who just stepped
closer. He grabbed her hand and placed a kiss with the eyes lowering slowly
leaving the woman breathless and feeling young and admired again.
"Nice to meet you," Kalus said after the kiss.
The woman winked at Ona. Ona understood the thinking, 'he's
a good man to keep'.
A few hours later….
Ona was packing up her paintings from her painting room and
covered the painting she was busy with.
Being focused on painting the most handsome man she ever
encountered had given her piece more than anything. She smiled when his name
and face popped into her head. She strode out then locked the room and walked
to the palace.
"Is every one asleep?" Ona asked Nia who was
coming to check up on her.
"Not everyone," Nia smiled. Ona pursed her lips.
"I think he's somehow waiting for you."
****
Kalus and Gideon were working all day. The finance books
were outdated and they managed to update most but mostly, their focus was on
stealing money and they did this while making sure on the books the stolen
money won't be noticed easily.
He stood by his main plan. Kalus and Gideon were best
friends from childhood where Kalus taught Gideon all the naughty things because
they had no parents. He taught him how to pick-pocket, steal from the market
and not be caught, and how to use his charm to lair people and it had been
working.
And yes, they both qualified in finance, but stealing was
already in their blood and running and taking over. They were obsessed with
stealing.
Kalus never had a plan of owning the kingdom, but I guess
The Calanthir Kingdom captured his heart and eyes, along with its princess who
he had been waiting for to arrive. He didn't want to disturb her in her
painting room.
He heard the whispers along with the faint creak of the
door. He rose from the chair he was on and walked to the two ladies who were
talking and not seeing where they were going.
"Princess."
Ona flinched.
Flip!
"Good night Ona," Nia said leaving Ona's sight.
Then bowed her head to Kalus.
"Mr. Windsorrow," her eyes were wide.
The inside of the palace was dim. Everyone went to bed.
Once Ona focused on her painting, nothing would remove her
from the chair and out of the room.
"What are you doing in the darkness?" Ona asked,
and still staring at each other, but Kalus was not staring, his eyes were
locked on Ona's eyes.
He was mute. And for a moment Ona thought Kalus was angry at
her for something she didn't know.
"I was waiting for you. I know I wouldn't sleep without
your special good night, I needed to hear that from your mouth with that sweet
tone," Kalus said with hands grabbing Ona's hands.
Ona felt the sensation hitting so right and couldn't open
her lips. She locked her eyes deeply into Kalus's ones.
"Princess since I've been with you, and I know that
it's not even a week since I've been here, but you give me nothing but peace
and pleasure, something I have never experienced before in my existence,"
he caressed her palm and stepped even closer making their bodies collide.
"I can't stop thinking about you. I make sure to work and finish so I
could have at least a chance to be close to you."
Ona cutely cleared her throat and hid her face by declining
it.
Gosh… she felt the hands moving to her waist and to her
lower back. Her body became stiff.
"Every man needs something special like this you're
giving me. I used to think I wouldn't find love until I met you, Ona. Don't you
feel like that with me?"
The princess knew that she had to think and she had to have
a bit of time to know more about Kalus Windsorrow. She had never thought Kalus
would be so quick. But her body, mind, and something in her telling her that
Kalus is right there to love her unconditionally, and also her parents never
pushed her into marrying into royalty.
And they looked to be loving and trusting Kalus so much
already. So what could go wrong?
Kalus was already making her go numb with his sight. It was
love and a very beautiful one.
She felt Kalus's finger on her chin inclining her face to
meet each other gaze. Ona felt happy.
"I love you Princess Ona, and not only loving you but
making you my wife too," Kalus said and saw Ona's eyes sparkle again under
the dimly lit.
Kalus knew that he wouldn't even spend a single scent for
the wedding. Her parents would do anything for their princess to be happy and
have a decent wedding. And he knew that the King and Queen were already
thinking about them and they would be very happy for the two to get married.
Ona pursed her lips to separate them and said, "I love
you too Kalus Windsorrow."
Kalus pressed his lips deeply into hers and asked, "Are
you aware that I'm going to marry you right away? I want to have you in my arms
every night."
"Yes," gosh…. Ona was very happy. Her heart was
beating with blissful beats.
