Chapter 50 - CHAPETR FORTY FOUR: THE BATTLE

"Return"When air in an area gets blown away, it creates a low-pressure point in its place. Usually, the air next to it fills it in moments. But if the pressure point is big enough, it might create a tornado, which happens rarely.But what William is doing right now is forcefully pulling the blown-up wind back to its origin, causing not only an explosion but also an implosion.WHOOPThe wind that was decimating the forest halted in its path. It stood still for a moment before it was pulled back with much greater force.KRAAAAAThe goblins screamed in horror as they were carried away by the imploding wind.SLASHKRAAAAA!One of the goblins, blown away by the wind, screamed in agony as a tree branch pierced its heart. It looked down to see the branch's leaves drenched in its green blood as life slowly left its body.It wasn't alone, as tens of goblins died from being slashed by debris. But the worst part..... was yet to come.The wind carried the goblins and the trees to a single point: meaning.KRAA KRAA KRAAAAThe goblins cried in fright as they noticed that they were going to collide with each other. Their eyes widened in horror while tears and snot ran down their faces before getting blown away by the wind.KRA-One of the goblins tried to scream as it helplessly watched its body get smashed into another goblin. Their heads smashed into each other, breaking them like a watermelon.'KRAA'The goblin muttered inwardly as its memories flashed before its eyes before suddenly everything went dark. Its brain flew out of its skull while the rest of its body also got smashed together. The force of the wind was so great that it turned everything at a single point into mush.The goo then rained down on the remaining army. The goblins shivered, while their green eyes were now quivering in fright.The fire on the torches went out due to the wind, and the source of vision for the goblin army was wiped out.KRAAAWilliam watched impassively as the goblin army gathered. His attack killed at least three hundred and injured several more, but in the ocean of goblin armies coming at him, it was like a drop in the bucket.William smiled at the goblin army, which had organized itself and was charging at him. 'Good, I still have a lot to try,' he mumbled inwardly.'What element should I choose next?' He still had some more attacks of wind type that he hadn't tried yet, but his mana would drop dangerously low if he tried even one of them.'Although, if they work properly, I can wipe out the army, I don't want to do that,' he remarked. He then used wind to move from his position and went into the forest for cover.The goblins followed him, although a little afraid, since there was no light; they still had to.One of the goblin soldiers slowly walked into the forest, holding a chipped sword.RATTLE RATTLEIt shivered in fear as it slowly moved its quivering legs to its right and turned around.GASPIt gasped for breath in fright as two amethyst gems stared at it with a cold gaze. The goblin's skin shrank while it had goosebumps all over its body. Never in its life had it seen such a monster.William stared at the goblin for a moment before he turned away and went in another direction.SIGHThe goblin sighed in relief as the monster went away. Maybe it took pity on him? It didn't know.KRAA?As the goblin sighed in relief when it felt something wet crawling down its thigh. It looked down to see what it was when its life faded away. It was impaled in its gut by an ice shard.KRAAKRAA KRAA-KRAA KRAAACreams echoed through the forest as William killed goblins one by one by impaling them with ice shards.RATTLE RATTLE RATTLEOne of the goblin soldiers shivered as it heard the echoes of its dying comrades. It clasped its spear tightly as it frantically turned its head around, trying to locate William.KRAAAAIt heard a scream to its right as it turned around. It trembled even more when it saw one of its kind get impaled through its mouth.CLANGIt threw the spear to the ground,K-KRAA KRAAAAnd shouted in defeat and ran away from the forest, hoping the monster might leave it alive.GASP GASPIt gasped as it ran toward its city. The goblin could see it. It could see the city lights in the distance and the goblin army entering the forest.Its entire being shook as it could foresee its kind dying a brutal death. It had to warn them; it had to warn them that the monster was undefeatable.KRAA-THUDAs the goblin was about to shout and warn its comrades, it fell to the ground with a thud.CLATTER CLATTERTears came down its eyes as it began to think of the worst. Its teeth began to clatter as it slowly turned around. But to its surprise, William was not there.Its eyes went wide in sheer horror as it saw its own legs get frozen to the ground. It fell because its torso got frozen to the point it became stiff, and the muscles joining its body together were shredded, tearing the goblin in two.It glanced to its side; beautiful, it thought, as the forest around it turned white. Everything, from the ground to the trees and even the small animals living in it, got frozen stiff as frost covered the forest. It reflected the moonlight, illuminating a part of the battlefield.'Eternal Frost'He slowly walked out of the forest as the frost followed behind him, devouring everything and turning it white.TAPWilliam took a step out of the forest. The goblins in the front shivered as they backed a step.TAPThey looked behind him only to see their comrades frozen stiff in their places.TAPTheir limbs shivered as they gripped their weapons tightly.TAPTHUDSome of the goblins fell on their butts as they stared at the monster, slowly walking toward them.TAPWilliam's last step echoed through the silent forest as his eyes stared down at the goblins. He raised his hand slowly into the air, almost as if he were dragging something heavy.SNAPHe snapped his fingers, stopping the gluttonous frost behind him. He then opened his palm wide, facing the goblins.'Glacial Blizzard'William muttered; the frost behind him began to float in the air.WHOOSHIt gathered around itself as it slowly turned into a tornado.WOONG WOONGThe tornado hummed as it got bigger and bigger. Microscopic, razor-sharp ice shards began to form inside the tornado. They swirled around it, and each rotation increased its speed.SWOOSH SWOOSHThe white tornado began to suck in the frozen goblins and trees.SHATTER SHATTERGlass-breaking sounds echoed through the tornado as the frozen goblins turned into ice shards, painting the tornado green.William then swung his hand down, sending the tornado toward the goblin army.RUMBLE RUMBLEThe ground beneath the army rumbled as the tornado hurled toward them, destroying everything in its way.KRAAAThe army, which had just been organized, had now turned into chaos as the tornado sucked in goblins and shredded them.William didn't look at the goblin army; instead, he turned toward where Achlys and Seraphina were fighting.He knew he couldn't help them, especially Seraphina. Since the goblin leader would just shrug off William's tornado as a passing breeze. That was the power of a master. He was able to kill hundreds of goblins since they were all just apprentices with some adepts in the midst.'Even a normal expert would be able to handle me as long as I don't use all my powers at once.' He wanted to downplay his achievements so that they didn't get to his head.'These goblins are useless. They are nothing like the monsters I fought in the mansion. At least, they could plan and cooperate. But these... these monsters just get scared and flee.'If the goblins had not given William time to ready his next attack, he would have had a little hard time dealing with them. Instead of doing that, they just fled.'Hmm?' William frowned as he sensed something coming through the forest. He turned toward the forest, showing his back to the goblins. 'I don't need to worry about the goblins; I can already see them just running away, scared.'William's eyes narrowed even more as he felt the thing increasing its speed and rushing toward them.RUMBLE RUMBLEAs whatever that thing was got closer, the ground beneath the entire forest began to tremble.On Seraphina and Aclys's side too, the goblins and the girls stopped their battle and stared at the forest, which was rumbling.'We need to go toward William!' Seraphina and Achlys thought simultaneously and rushed in his direction.RUMBLE RUMBLEThe tremors intensified as the girls reached William and joined him. "William, are you hurt?" Achlys asked with concern."No, I am all right," William reassured and stared at the forest."Guys, the bad feeling I have told you about. It's intensifying," Seraphina muttered solemnly. Her hands curled into fists while her golden eyes stared at the forest.William and Achlys too tensed up at her words. They raised their guard and readied their attacks.RUMBLE RUMBLEThe rumble intensified as it got even closer. William could sense that it was just a few hundred feet away from them.But then,"Eh?" William exclaimed, dumbfounded when the rumbling stopped. An eerie silence befell the battlefield, in contrast to the previous chaos."It's coming," Seraphina muttered, indicating that this was just the calm before the storm.TAPTAPTAPA tall woman walked out of the dark forest. She had no clothes on her and was covered in tribal tattoos; her face was covered in bone piercings while a grin adorned her barbaric face.RAAAAAWR
