I quickly made my way down from the rooftop, my eyes never leaving Sarah's figure as she walked through the crowded streets. I followed her at a distance, my training allowing me to blend in with the shadows.
She led me on a wild goose chase, turning corners and dodging through alleys. I knew she was trying to shake me, but I was determined to keep her safe.
As we walked, the streets became increasingly deserted. The buildings grew taller and darker, casting long shadows that stretched and twisted in the flickering streetlight.
Sarah stopped suddenly, looking around nervously. I froze, holding my breath as she glanced over her shoulder. Our eyes met for a brief moment, and I knew she had seen me.
But instead of fear, a look of determination crossed her face. She quickened her pace, leading me deeper into the darkness.
I followed, my heart pounding in my chest. What was she getting herself into? And why did I have the feeling that I was walking into a trap?
