Chapter 2 - The Target

I lowered my binoculars, my eyes still fixed on the building where she worked. I had learned that her name was Sarah, and that she was a journalist, always digging deeper, always seeking the truth.

But the truth was a dangerous thing in this city, and I knew that she was playing with fire. She was getting close to something, something big, and I could sense it.

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I thought about the possibilities. If she uncovered what I suspected she would, it could mean disaster for her, and for many others.

I knew that I had to act, but I was torn. Part of me wanted to protect her, to keep her safe from the dangers that lurked in the shadows. But another part of me wanted to let her continue, to see how far she would go, how much she would risk.

I took a deep breath, trying to clear my head. I had to make a decision, and fast. I couldn't let my emotions get in the way of my judgment.

I raised my binoculars again, my eyes fixed on Sarah as she left the building and walked out into the night. I knew that I had to follow her, to keep her safe, no matter what the cost.
