Dalia's eyes widened with fear when she realized that the monster was now standing behind her, and from the impatience in his voice, she could tell that with one strike, he was going to kill her.
Fear flashed in her eyes. She tried to look at Ditun, to have reassurance from the look in his eyes, but he pressed her head further to his chest, coaxed her hair softly as if none of this mattered, as if there wasn't a monstrous figure trying to kill her. But why was he so intent on killing her?
"Di..." she whispered, her voice quivering, unsure if she even felt her legs.
"Nothing will happen to you, I promise," his voice was calm, soothing enough that a glimmer of hope flashed through her. She should be scared since the figure was near her, but her husband's reassurance removed a bit of fear from her.
"You will be alright," he continued to whisper and coax her hair.
